Reloads would be more efficient if you a) Just let the mag drop out of the rifle - I couldn't tell if that mag was sticking or not though and b) If you orient the mag in your pouches *before* you have to remove them :P

@nMagik So when you empty out the clip, you can easily release it and pull it out immediately. It can make a big difference in timing.

But if you're in a real life war, and you're using an LMG, you pretty much NEED to use the foregrip so it doesn't shake all over the place.

@TheNooByNooBz No. If you reload and there is still a bullet in the chamber, you don't have to. However, when you completely finish a magazine, the slide locks back on the M4. Then, you can either pull the charging handle, or hit the bolt release lever/button.

@Lardman678 You actually should never, EVER hold the magazine when firing. 80% of misfires in M16s and M4s are the fault of the user, not bad ammunition or gas operation failure to eject. Shifting the magazine around while it's in the mag well will cause it to double feed. Then you're up shit creek without a fucking paddle.

@Lardman678 still not good to do that either. you don't realize it until you've been through combat, but it's a very stressful situation. You don't even notice the pressure you're putting on the magazine with your pinky cause of that kung fu grip shit that happens. Your muscles tense up more (you'll notice you get sore after your fist firefight, even if you didn't move anywhere) and you do things without thinking. That's called muscle memory, you want it to be natural *NOT* to touch the mag.

they may have had a few options in mind, rendered it one way and then changed options and ended up with an option that was already finished a certain way and not bothered to make changes.

could have been a personal preference or mistake.

i always put mine on top because everybody else does.

the front sight post helps to keep it from getting dinged up too.
