First: democratise the union. Get rid of the European Commission and let us elect our president and ministers and have one fixed capital. From there on we can start reforming as we can't be stuck in this limbo forever.

If Ireland had not voted to stop the European Union allowing the Lisbon treaty to go ahead (with a 90% No Vote) it would have has huge implications. This would have meant an unelected uncountable government would be able to make laws for your country.
The U.K only ever agreed to an Open Market trade agreement. You seem to not understand that would have taken away your right to vote in a government who made laws for you.

The EU nations have less debt as the US. Also structurally the debt of Greece is even lower as the that of the US is (Greece -4,4% and US -8,8%)
The main difference is, that the Eurozone members can't print extra money and have to cut spending. We are stepping up to the plate and cutting spending, what is your government doing?

If Ireland had not voted to stop the European Union allowing the Lisbon treaty to go ahead (with a 90% No Vote) it would have has huge implications. This would have meant an unelected uncountable government would be able to make laws for your country.

Politicians are elected to lead people and make decisions that have effects far to the future. We still can't presume that simple worker knows better politics than a politician because politician does politics, worker works in the factory.
If we went to straight democracy and make people vote of all kind of issues it would be communism and fail.
