They showed some footage of the Oregon sideline before they ran the first down play, and he very clearly tells Roper to put the ball in the center of the field and spike it. Unfortunately Evensen didn't hear it and ran out onto the field. Long story short, everyone panics and Evensen puts up a terrible kick, Ducks eventually lose. Oh well, there's always next year. I highly doubt we would have gotten better than the Sun Bowl had we won anyhow.

The NFL should change to this OT style. The "win the coin toss, win the game" attitude is sort of accurate, but only because teams play hokie-ass prevent defense that does not prevent anything but winning. If NFL teams would play to win on OT it would be much more exciting.

I would love to see the NFL do a college style overtime but owners, GM's, and coaches will never let it happen. The longer a game goes, like college overtime, it only increases chance of injury. There is to much money to be lost if a star player like Tom Brady or Payton Manning. Like it or not the NFL is a business that has tones of money on the line.

Yep...backup quarterback made a very backup mistake. He didnt look to the sidelines and get the read to Spike it. I was in the student section and that was the ugliest kick ever!! It pissed me off!!
