Actually, thats the iris, the ciliary body is the connective tissue and muscles that surround the lense so that you can focus your eye by stretching the lense. Yes, you seem to have some ciliary connective tissue on there, but that could be due to the fact that you shot it. (lol)

Three people in my school always mocked me and a few others for wearing eye protection in school during certain classes (They never wore eye protection). One day we were drilling through metal, and when it was one of the bullies turn, the drill broke and a bit of metal shrapnel flew around. Everyone else was unhurt except one of the bullies. A small metal piece landed right next to his eye, and he was almost blinded.

After that day they never spoke to me again, and always wore eye protection.

I've been fascinated with eyeballs for years now. The fact that they can provide such an incredible "pixel" density in a biological device is incredible to me. They're the perfect balance of focus speed, focal length, self repairability, active sensitivity, dynamic ranging.... it's staggering how amazing your eye is. It's the perfect design.
