I wish in dawn of war 2 you can actually make barracks also in dark crusade the commander actually did something in dawn of war 2 the most they can do is kill a couple units with their abilities. They should have brought the tau and the necrons into dawn of war 2.

Initially the Daemon Prince had a ranged attack called "maledict" ( found the file using a mod tool :).

I think the egg was what the DP used to channel this power.

but in the official game now, the DP only has a melee attack :/

@Podjtnk It was the model of the demon prince of the original dow where the sorserer in the end becomes a deamon prince with the aid of the maledictum(the stone that he is holding) i suppose they used the same model for the teaser for dark crusade.

The problem with the thrice-cursed Daemon Princes is that they are notoriously difficult to kill. I fought against a Chaos Marine legion when they summoned one, and it alone managed to wipe out 1/3 my marines before we finally killed it.

If you took the liberty of playing Dawn of War then you would know that it is the Maledictum, and that this is a spoiler to Dark Crusade and so the Daemon Prince is the one used in the campaign of Dawn of War.

Sindri Myr is the Chaos Sorcerer who ascends to Daemonhood. And what I mean by the term 'used' is that the Daemon Prince from the DoW is the one in that game, not that it's controlled.

I was losing a battle so badly once in Soulstorm, and I was totally outnumbered. (Campaign BTW), But the very second I summoned my Chaos Lord (Complete with Daemon Prince wargear). All that changed VERY quickly.

daemon prince is powerful but weak if versus GK. Chaos space marines is indeed vulnerable: weak morale and low health but if their using stealth, they can be deadly combine with DP. even squiggoth can be vanquish in a few minutes with 2-3 squad.

@ScarliteNL I don't think 2 sucks necessarily, but it does feel awkward in comparison. Reducing the economy to one building, shrinking the max army size and yet running more slowly than DoW 1 just didn't do it for me. Plus I don't like GFWL.

no, warhammer mark of chaos needs real warhammer skills. i wanna dow3 could be with few game modes. dow2 game mode, dow game mode (with buildings), mark of chaos game mode( you need to build your army as in real w40k and go to battle using tactics). thumbs up if you agreed.

for the ones who played dawn of war 1. have you notice that the orks and eldar have their OWN big monstrousitiy? ( the Squiggtoh and The Avatar). and the chaos has 2. the bloodthirster and the daemon prince. indeed, even in Dark Crusade he holds that Maledictum. In Dark Crusade, the game kindly sucks ass. Last summer, every day i played that game. but, when i play with the SP, it;s annoying that u can only build one terminators, assault terminators and one land raider. Same for the other races

Well they're trying to reflect the tabletop and they can't just make up units for the other armies that don't exist in the 40k universe. That being said, I play Chaos in the tabletop and SM can still hold their own against my ruinous powers. Play it, everyone should.

Both in tandem is pretty awesome.

Bloodthirster is pretty awesome if you can get him into combat with weak CC units and keep him there until endgame. He does less damage but draws a lot of fire but is a bitch to take down.

Daemon prince is great for throwing at one part of the enemy defenses and then rushing the other. The enemy usually goes "OH SHIT OH SHIT DAEMON PRINCE" and dedicates a lot of forces to it.

I friggin love the Daemon Prince. They didn't show his best area hit move though, where he swings his left hand in a short arc that smashes everyone. His quotes are also good, since he has that excellent 'don't piss me off' tone.

Its an HQ but you need to research it for the Chaos lord to become one in Skirmish. In Campaign you have to earn it.

take over all the places around the imperial guard province, then go off and do ur thing. he'll be forced into attacking u, once u get the wargear from it just go and kill him. it can be done with other races too

i recieved all the wargear that required the defensive victory by controlling the area above pavonis(the area you get space port or w/e that lets u teleport anywhere) and above the tau headquarters.

i surrounded the tau and reinforced all areas except for the one above tau headquarters. for that area, i controlled all of the strategic points and relics and built like 4 or 5 bases. built turrets where the enemy will spawn and once that was complete, the tau would almost always attack that province and i would have to do nothing as they would be automatically killed by the turrets.

Dude, Imperial Guard and Space Marine AI tears Necron AI to pieces. Set up a Dark Crusade game with those two vs five necrons, and see how it goes. The computer just doesn't know how to manage Necrons. Five Tau, on the other hand, tore IG/SM to ribbons.
