I had 4 sticks of Kingston 256 on the mobo and tried one with no change. CPU's warm up, light on the CD Rom comes on but won't eject, and CPU fans comes on. I don't here anything form the HDD. It is almost like the mobo is not turning on the rest of the power supply. I am momentarily jumping the switch leads on the mobo. How do you get your power supply to start the rest of the board. I really do appreicate your help. I like the tyan board and dont want to give up on it.
You make it look so easy. I am trying a similar set up with the Thunder Le S2510. All I can get it to do is spin the fans and light up the LAN lights. I tried quickly jumping the start connections but I still get nothing. Do you have any recommendations.
i would start by making sure the ram is good, if you have more than one stick of ram on the board remove one and try to boot. if it still wont boot try the other sticks by themselves. if you only have one stick you will have to acquire a stick from somewhere like ebay or newegg or a friend may borrow it to you. let me know what you come up with im always glad to help.
this mobo has 4 ide headers 2 regular ultra ata and 2 that are connected to raid. i guess you could use a sata card in one of the pci slots if you wanted to.
Do servers run ide for a reason or you just had those drives and didn't want to throw them away. I am not dissing you I use Ide drives in my computer.
yeah these are just some old drives i had laying around. i tend to save everything if it still works. no use throwing somthing away if its still good.
