DOOM Gravis Ultrasound: Title/At Doom's Gate

Did anyone rally own a sound blaster? THe most horrid sound card of the time. I might as well just go adlib or corvus. THe Ultrasound was the only card worth it. The sad thing is, did you ever hear X-wing or Doom on a soundblaster? It was horrid

Anyone have the high quality MP3? I want the first 7 seconds (Title track) as my incoming SMS noise for my cellphone. DooM is still the best game ever made.

Good. I can't say which is better since I'm bit biased to the XG sound I had. Someone took a recording on a nec clone board from china and I have to say, it sounds much like I remember (see video "DOOM with Yamaha DB50XG on 1996 PC"). I wonder though if it has all the other XG features, never know since the hw isn't quite identical.

Not 100% the same but should be more than enough to make a decision. Remember to select it through control panel as the one that will playback midi.

@Andthatswhymacssuck I had an Ultrasound Ace Daughter board in 1995 and it was only £80 and sounded pretty much the same. It had the same sample set.

How did you get the EAWPats to work? They never seem to load up for me when in regular Timidity++, but yet they play in Chocolate Doom, very weird.
