  • unfuckingbelievable.....what a beautiful song and message. this musical should be taught in school!

  • I think I agree with another poster on the Broadway Hair version; this one is BETTER!!

  • amazing

  • amazing... got chills

  • Wow slides... into every note... headache.

  • holy shit.. I got MAD chills with that duet at the beginning.. cheers to those powerful women.

  • this was great and right on message.

  • This is fantastic...I absolutely love Morgan James...Rashidra Scott (Patina Miler's understudy in Sister Act on Broadway) is cool, too...also love seeing Stefanie Brown in the Tribe, since I saw her as Nessarose in Wicked 5 times.

  • This is what you call God creation of art !

  • si, es verdad , esto es realmente cantar, y con el corazón

  • @DuChaplin *death of Berger.

  • this is the best post of this piece.

  • i am ready to join the cult kewl stuff dig those girls!

  • One of best interpretation I ever seen of that extraordinary song. The voices of this choir are very exciting as well as to have a great vocal range

  • Watch the black girls stomach....she is singing directly from the gut. Excellent.

  • CHILLS.

  • Saw it in Dallas yesterday. Sat in the front row, center stage. The cast would come out and mess with your mind. Excellent production.

  • Every production of HAIR I've ever seen...The voices are always awesome !! PEACE..

  • Dionne fucking nailed it.

  • Woah - chills down the spine

  • And by the way I am not a bastard. My mother knows exactly who my father is. However the rest of what you say might be true.

  • I was seventeen when I first saw this, now I am sixty. Every generation has its anthem. How delightful that this should be mine

  • This almost brought tears to my eyes. SO beautiful.

  • AMAZING.

  • @johnlouisville Well none of them believe in any of this stuff. They're also hypocritical racist bastards.

  • This is exactly how I think "Let the sunshine in" should be sung. with the higher tone. It really shows the pain and pleading tone that conveys the powerful message this song is supposed to convey. Some versions sound too much like the 5th dimension version.

  • Yes, this is singing

  • amazing, rlly gj guys! you the best

  • I SAW THIS ON BROADWAY 40 YEARS AGO AND AGAIN TODAY iT WAS THE GREATEST SHOW EVEB THEN AND IT STILL IS i AM DEEPLY DEEPLY MOVED

  • Damn that audience is dead. -.- Usually people would clap during this, but here, NADA. Man if I were there, I'd stand up and dance and clap and sing along with the actors on stage.

  • @DC11961

You are so right...I guess the peace, love and freedom message didn't play well with the Arizona folks...

  • That black girl is hot.

  • I saw this in London 3 times in 69/70. I think this song is incredibly difficult to do really well but I think the performers here did ok.

  • Oh man. I got to see this live, I've never had chills like that before!!

  • *-*

  • I saw Hair on stage over and over when it first played in LA in the late 60's and this is the first rendition I've seen since that caught the incredible energy of this song...way to go!

  • The 2 leads are fantastic - and good looking too! (Don't say that doesn't matter cos y'all know it does!!!)

  • my god. this was AMAZING

i have chills and goosebumps running right down my damn body

    holy shit

  • Now these guys really understand this song!!!!!!

  • Goosebumps indeed! They nailed it. My favorite song of all time. This how this song should be song!

  • Each one of these young people has more talent than most of the Signed artist today. This musical world littered with Posers. Thank You for posting sdsh4.

  • ö.ö goosebumps....

  • rashrida's in sister act now!

  • 11 people won't let the sunshine in

  • WOW

  • I want them to come to Montreal!!

En tout cas ils sont très bons !

  • :D!!!

  • how could 10 people not like this?

  • @sarahsandiego2 IDK? They were looking for hairstyle ideas and came across this instead? lol

  • Impresionante interpretación, sobre todo de la solista inicial. Me han puesto la piel de gallina

  • Impresionante interpretación. PIel de gallina

  • bester song aus dem musical=)

    einfach spitze;)

  • Saw Them In London :L

  • Wow

  • Im happy found again

  • they sound like angels =)

  • well that'll bring tears to your eyes

  • The tribe is coming to grips with the death of Berger. This is how the song should be stage. Commendations to the artistic director for understanding this number (and show in total). Sometimes you see this finale, with the actors, skipping, dancing and running all over the stage. Specifically, at 1:30 just look at the staging, pleading with and to the audience. Fantastic !

  • @up44side Berger died in the movie. Claude died in the original, no? I just saw it last night here in Dallas. Front row, center. As for the skipping and dancing, it was fun when they dragged us up on stage ....After....the show was over and the cast had taken their due bows.

    Wonderful show.

  • @up44side No in the musical production Claude dies, the film is vastly different from the original production.

  • @up44side Actually in the original play Claude dies. But i agree with you too many times in the finale you see people jumping around like they are celebrating. In fact Claude the leader of the tribe has just been killed in Vietnam and they are dealing with it. Let the Sunshine is a not really a happy song but one of understanding as the tribe pleads to the audience. There is sadness as they sing this song.

  • @up44side *death of Claude

  • @up44side I totally agree - rare to see this scene done with the passion and meaning it was originally given.

  • Looks like 10 people didn't let the sunshine in....

  • excellent!

  • Good stuff!

  • - INCREDIBLE!!!!

  • I would kill for the woman in the purple shirt's voice.

  • bellissima canzone

  • Magnifique , merci, merci,merci

  • Whoever put his thumbs down for this performance hasn't understood what Hair is all about and has never felt a song in their heart!

  • i'll bet they're all holding

  • better then Original :D

  • Ho la pelle d'oca!

  • The movie was on tv this week, and I came searching for "covers" of this song. I must say, as everyone else has already said, this is an absolutely AWESOME performance of this song. WOW!....THANKS!

  • Impressive

  • WOW!!!!!!!!!!

  • Grat!!!!! I LOVE IT!!!

  • I saw this show on Broadway in April, and from what I've seen and heard, this production rivals it easily. Awesome job, you guys.

  • The chick in the front in the purple has an outstanding voice! You go girl! Give it your all!

  • I want to take my kids to see this play in NY, but if I recall, wasnt there nudity in this play or did they redo it?

  • @joeluis98 - yes there is nudity! brief, but it's right out there for the world to get a good look. Also lots of drug references and risky behavior. Not sure it is good for kids. Teens can handle it and maybe understand, but this is not a kids show.

  • @joeluis98 Yes, there is nudity, and also, as i recall, the show closed on broadway.

  • @armassmann I don' t know if it is closed on broadway, but there is a touring cast. it is in milw in the next year

  • i love your WE THE PEOPLE drop... great idea!

  • how is this play against god? i know it has a few anti-religious things in it, but it really isn't that bad.. i love it and i'm a christian

  • They need to go on a National Tour

  • I got tears in my eyes.

  • Rashidra's voice is just out of this world amazing! <33333333 This is the best performances of Let the Sunshine in I've seen and I've seen a LOT of different performances of HAIR.

  • perhaps the most powerful song of the play

  • WOW.WHAT A VOICE THAT CAN MAKE A PORCUPINE GET BALD

  • really good

  • This is AMAZING!!!!

  • goose-skin all the time

  • Comment removed

  • that rashidra girl is FIERCE!

  • Magistral..!

  • Why should I bow down to any monarch. Do you suppose Jesus is a monarch? How could a person of the United states which is a Democracy, believe that God is a monarch? I could believe that if I were a British subject, but we live in a democracy.

  • @whiteheronsteel For me Jesus is just a man and God is only ilusion. I can't say if God exist, but I can believe he doesn't. And noone can't say what life is about, bcs you never know untill you are dead. Maybe there is nothing after death, so the sense of life is to enjoy, maybe there is sth and sense of life is to evolve your soul. Important is to believe to sth what makes you happy. If your life have sense when you are christian, be christian... or be pagan if it makes more sense for you

  • @whiteheronsteel I agree with you on so many points. The question in my mind; is life just an absurdity? Alan Watts speaks about the conspiracy we play on ourselves. The conspiracy of teleological fallacy. The purpose of life is not to be going anywhere, the purpose of life is a dance. And we have been fooling ourselves all along the way. I believe we are integrated with nature, not separated from nature. I would start with Emerson, and Thoreau to investigate nature.

  • The ending of HAIR is so so so so so powerful.

  • wow that was amazing

  • my favourite song for sure

they KILLED IT! (in a good way) haha

    <3

  • Yes we do read the lyrics. We need to question authority. Hasn't the government proven that it is not worthy of our trust? We are only conquered when we don't question authority. Let the sun shine in.

  • @whiteheronsteel Without Submitting unto Christ to serve him, putting God's will above your own, you dont have the Wisdom, only a vaque Idea of what is Right and what is Wrong. So Logically, if we can Reason, then you cannot even bring forth a question that can lead us down a path that is Righteous, only an Opinion based on your Prejudices.

These "hippies" of yesteryear were filled with Hype, High Emotions and Propaganda. How many really understood the World they lived in? NONE.

    Jesus is Lord

  • @ighforever Seriously, I respect your opinion for what it is, but here's the thing if you don't agree with the content of the show, why the hell watch the videos?

  • @ighforever Hippies are the truest patriots.

  • I love when She enters 0:15

  • then you think you are one of the few fans... till i see so many recreations of the fantastic happening, HAIR

  • This gave me chills. Wonderful performance!!!

  • How the EFF did I miss this audition?!

  • These guys are good!

  • gestern in mannheim war's ne andre sängerin , die konnts besser :)

  • Gänsehaut pur!!! ;D

  • Holy shit @ your Dionne. Very touching, although I don't particularly care for the Sheila's voice. She's not bad, just not what I see in the role. :)

  • That chick is wailing.

  • You either have it or you don't---they did, and more !!

  • wow goosebumps!

  • @greatone1034

    it´s great

  • @greatone1034 me too literally.

  • The first lady to sing is AMAZING. Very very good singer.

  • This is freaken AMAZING. Wow I am blown away, not to be mean or anything but I really expected such amazing talent to come from the Arizona Theatre Company!

  • ..u cn deff here the harmony and melody...job well done!!

  • This song never fails to pull an emotional response out of me

  • i prefer drum and bass and dubstep ^^ ... but thats cool too :D

  • I don't like this Sheila

  • Definitely prefer this company over the Broadway one!! although both are amazing =)

  • fantastic - that really hist the spot

  • this song makes me so emotional.... i saw it live on broadway not too long ago and this scene made me want to cry... seeing this video does too :( the signing is AMAZING every single person doing vocals is fucking fabulous

  • Better than the movie!

  • outstanding professional performance - from someone who saw the original performance backstage on broadway this cast was every bit as strong in their performance - great job!

  • Work Rashidra and work Morgan!!!!!!!! Divas!

  • holy shit. like... holy shit! That was amazing! Holy shit. I can't even. Well done. Well done.

  • Rashidra is my sister in real life. we ggot da same daddy on da real like no lie. yay. so happy to bhe her lil sister

  • The woman playing Dionne better GET IT! :-)

  • damn Rashidra!!!!

  • i love the whole performance. only thing that kinda annoyed me was the spontaneous switch from belt to head voice at 0:23. its a little annoying cause she hit the high note fine and then... opera singer.... Oh well. the whole thing like i said was fabulous.

  • Once you have someone else singing with you, it's more do-able to make the transition between ranges. The higher range was supported enough to carry a level of clarity that was comparable to her belt. She uses vibrato, yes, but that doesn't make the style operatic.

  • And I mean, hey, Fs aren't in many people's belting ranges.

  • thats the crazy part. she nails the F# but then goes into her full heavy head voice on the E.

  • I went this past june to see this on broadway, and this show changed my life. this musical is great(:

  • wow! that is such a powerful commment and it makes me happy :)

this song alone moves me to tears, let alone the whole show.

brilliant vocals here. !! they need to be sooo proud!

  • "life is around you and in you"

as opposed to out there in space

  • I just pissed my pants and cried at the same time.

    = (

  • it's a prophetic work

  • Wow, thanks for posting this. I just saw the broadway version in NY and it was incredible. This scene had the audience in tears. At the end Claude was laying spotlit on an American flag with snow lightly falling as the acapella vocals echoed and faded. Heartrending. I wish I would have seen this when it was in Phoenix, it looks great. Too bad it cuts off right at the end.

  • I just saw it too and i agree. It was amazing. I like how they kind of did the same thing here. The only difference I could see was that on Broadway, NO ONE clapped immediatly. You could have heard a pin drop. Everyone was so moved. This version is just as beautiful though.

  • i get chills when they go accapella

  • this song is amazing

  • I went to the temple to see this cast--i was part of the teen critic program--and it was one of the best shows I have ever seen. i've since tried to find a sountrack that moved me as much as their voices did, but i haven't been able to.

i loved this cast, they were very talented...

  • check out the revival cast recording or the actor's fund recording (2004, i think?)...both are great in their own way!

  • Get the new broadway recording, it's fantastic.

  • obsessed!

  • chills!

  • This took my breath away. Bravo!

  • I got chills at 1:35

    I love this show. =]

  • wow i had chills the whole time.

    <3

  • DAMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMN that girl can sing!

  • wow.

  • Great.

  • Absolutely phenom!! The ending gave me the biggest chills with...

  • lol trehugging hippies :-)

  • Wow - that was a real treat! Thank you! Would love to hear the beginning of the song. . . but nonetheless, still happy with what I heard!

  • i spy with my little eye JAKE WILSON!
