Very flawed advice. He's incorrect on the pronunciation of the i in tin. He 'sharpened' it whereas it should be 'blunted'. The i should be pronounced like the e in rotten. Same goes for bin, bill, fit, etc. And as for putting a h sound before right? I don't think so. If anything it would go after the h. People agree?
I'm a Kiwi and I enjoy listening to the SA rugby commentary because of the cool accents. I like Kobu Wiese's and Razor Bladen's accents. I like those really heavy Afrikaan accents the most

Not sure why there are so many offended individuals. Having lived in SA for 20 years I can say that the accent in the Video is dead on. Obviously the accent varies depending on location but the accent in the video would pass 100% as a SA accent.

I'm sure you'll find someone in SA who sounds like that and the general observations aren't miles off, but this a sterling example of why directors should cast South African actors in roles requiring South African accents. I'm sorry to say, but this accent is 2nd rate at best.

As I am a South African, I same this objectively, most South African's speak English with a horrible sounding rough, flat accent. The Afrikaans accent being rough and the English South African accent being flat. They both sound crap it's sad.

you cant generalise that accent. That's one particular accent that only applies to most Afrikaans speaking people. There are many more accents depending on which of the 11 languages you speak and even within that category, it also depends on which part of South Africa you live in.
