An interesting note to consider Gyunei Guss the Cyber-newtype from Char's Counterattack was originally slated to be Kamille in the initial draft. However Tomino scraped the idea for some reason. It would have been interesting to see Kamille side with Char and fight Amuro.

This provides a clear cut reason as to why Char does what he does in the movie. A shame that they cut the idea of Kamille appearing on Char's Counterattack on Char's side.

Did they ever make a clip where Amuro confronts his issue with returning into space? I know they mentioned his return to space in ZZ, but never really show how he dealt with his inner turmoil. Anyway this was a really good explanation for Char's return he such a great character. What I really would've liked to see in ZZ would be Haman vs Amuro that'd be a badass fight

Anyone know exactly what Char was saying about Kamille? I'm sure he was shocked that Kamille had gotten mindraped, but I'm just wondering if he mentioned anything else about him. Makes me wonder though, if Kamille had made it out ok after Z Gundam or decided to fight again after ZZ Gundam, whose side he would have sympathized with? Amuro or Char?

@Luigi84289 Kamille's newtype powers didn't go anywhere. If anything his powers got stronger after Scirocco's attack. It's also heavily implied that Kamille recovers fully from it in ZZ Gundam. Also the Moon Crisis side story is where he becomes a doctor but I'm not sure if it's canon because it conflicts with Unicorn.

This is one of the most pivotal and rare Gundam scenes that not many fans have seen. It sheds some light as to Char's whereabouts and his decisions for his future actions.

The voice actor also did a wonderful job here to convey Char's grim determination.

Yeah After killing all of her other family members he doesn't kill minerva since she is a loli and char is a lolicon for 1. He also doesn't kill her since she is a child who really innocent, and killing and innocent child would be pointless.

@Duoearth Here's my advice. buy the original PS1 Z gundam game and once you brought the game either online like eBay or God know's where put the Z Gundam PS1 game cd with the Char storyline on your computer and simply play it like an ordinary CD you'll find the track your looking for at the very last track. Once you find it you can rip it off like any other CD. well anyway thats how I got mine as well and since there's no title to it for that matter I just named it Remininces. Well Good luck!

Thing is... he doesn't see his actions as evil... ultimately a matter of prospective... from the OYW (he was only in it to get his revenge on the Zabis) and the AEUG (he didn't like the titans; and yet tried to promote his views) then finally to CCA where he tried to actively acheive them...

Ultimately History (in the UC world) would see him as a villain; having lost. But he tried making things better...in his own way.

And as Amuro mentioned, he had an ego. Char was always thinking that what he, himself was doing is for the greater good, never taking the time to consider things from another point of view. @ciprianobabula Kamille was supposed to be a leader whom would send humanity to the stars after he went braindead Char hid away waiting for the fighting to cease and a victor to be declared then rose to power and did the only thing he felt would save his people from the Earth's Tyranny. Char was never "bad", just not on the side they focused on. From Zeon's point of view, Char was close to a hero in the original Gundam.

Char did seem to have some notion of the morality of his actions from a greater perspective. He seemed to actively try to save Mineva Zabi as a measure of making amends for his actions during the war. And in CCA, he openly acknowledges that his intentions are evil and his rationalizations are weak.

But that was after the ZZ timeline. We know what Amaro was doing though. He was still on earth with Karaba fighting in his own Zeta Gundam with the A marking on it. Green Diver tells us Amaro's storyline. Char is the only one you dont know much about between his apparent death (again) at the end of Zeta Gundam and Char's Counterattack.
