When my dad used to put this on, i always imaged laurel and hardy as Bonnie and Clyde...... ok, I didn't realise at the time it was a man and a woman. DON'T JUDGE ME D:
This song is in the vain of The New Vaudville Band's 'Winchester Cathedral'. In '67-68 ish, looking back to the '20's was cool for a couple of months in pop culture....
Actually that's not true. The song (the actual title of it was "The Ballad Of Bonnie & Clyde") was written & recorded by Georgie Fame not realizing that Hollywood/Arthur Penn was about to release a movie about the same subject. It happened by lucky happenstance that Fame would release the song and it would become a hit on both sides of the Atlantic at the same time that the movie starring Faye Dunaway & Warren Beatty in the leads was such a smash at the box office.

It's great that people post videos of artist and what have you but if you guys who do post don't get both the beginning or the end then don't bother

Even in the 1960's this must have looked a bit stilted and awkward. I love Georgie's suit however, he looks handsome in it.

Great song. Georgie looks pretty decked out in that suit. Keep on singing Mr. Fame.
