I support the Bible but religion is not something I agree with because it's not about a religion it is about a relationship with Jesus Christ. If you truly want a relationship with Jesus and desire him: you will find him but the problem is most people have no desire for him. It's not even about Bible knowledge, it's about a relationship and obedience to Christ and giving Christ the glory but people are too interested in glorifying themselves and living for themselves.

Obviously you could decide not to worship him and be tortured, but anyone who dislikes pain would lean toward worshipping him.

I think the doing works in your life is a self fufilling prophecy. While it may be a benefit of belief that you feel happier, that does not lead any merit to its truth value.

@XxnkklllllxX Believe me, atheists have studied religion more than most Christians. As far as people being the problem and not religion, you're correct. Non-existence sky men can have no baring on events that take place in the world. What does is the worship of these morally bankrupt deities. Without religion, people would not have had an outlet to cause the crusades, Spanish Inquisition, or the Holocaust.

That last statement is the most asinine statement I've ever heard. . . Knowing the logistics of a religion have nothing to do with knowing the religion. Also, I know Atheists that do the same things Christians do. They make shit up. They use bullshit to back up their lack of belief in God. And by saying that "non existent sky men" do nothing in the world, all you're doing is proving that you don't understand what "educated" Christians believe. . . So I'm done with this.

@XxnkklllllxX lol at "educated." I'm not sure why you put the word "proof" in quotation marks, but I personally do not think that the belief itself is necessarily harmful. People can believe in whatever nonsense they want. The problem arises when they act on their beliefs. If I believed I would live life in eternal bliss if I murdered everyone within a 5 mile radius, but never acted on it in any way, I wouldn't be harming anyone. That example is a little extreme, but you get the point.

And yet the evidence we have goes both ways. Golden ratio in the world is both coincidence to Atheists and is proof of design to theists. The Bible, Atheists use against us, and we use for us. I'm just done with this. Our faith isn't blind. The Faith we have is based on the Bible. So if we take the Bible as total truth, do we need more proof?

@XxnkklllllxX While I personally think that if you believe in a literal translation of the Bible you are bat-shit crazy, I do not use the Bible against people's beliefs. I do not see how the evidence we have goes both ways. There is no "evidence for atheism," nor does there need to be. There needs to be evidence for Christianity because it makes a positive claim. Atheism simply denies that that claim is true until evidence is presented. Then again, I guess the lack of evidence goes both ways.

@XxnkklllllxX You also don't seem to realize the amount of ugly things that go on in the world already. The world is filled with terrible people and always has been/will be, religion is not the deciding factor here. And actually over the course of history, religion ironically has caused unimaginable horror and death.
For the record, being an atheist has no effect on how civil a person is. It's fun to think everyone in the world will be controlled with fear by hell, but its not how it works

Religion has never been the problem. The blame has always been people that have used religion to gain things that aren't theirs. Like land, money, people. . . Religion never caused the crusades, or Spanish Inquisition, or the Holocaust, depraved, power hungry people caused those to happen. And i don't see why you needed to bring up all the "ugly things that go on in the world." That has nothing to do with my comment.

@XxnkklllllxX It was a response to civility relating to beliefs. Religion or not, the world is filled with terrible people who do terrible things anyways. The good will do good, the bad will do bad.
I hardly know how to respond to 'it's peoples fault, not religions fault'. Well duh? In the name of religion, people have killed so many millions in the name of ignorance (people killed for being of different religion, gay, race, etc) because they were swayed by things like the bible.
