Im sorry but if somebody doesnt know how to put a halter on their horse im not sure if they are ready for a horse yet. I learned how to put on a halter when I was like 5.
I just came by a horse in way of trade. My horse will be much loved and will for now remain right where he is. I watch these kinds of videos in order to learn a little about what I will be doing in the near future. What’s wrong with that?
I noticed that when she slipped the halter over the horses ears, the ears were pushed back. I was told (by a certified coach) that you shouldn't push a horse's ears back, but forward instead. Does it matter?
omg omg omg like here is the halter umm (what do i do with it) ooo yeah i stick it here and this buckle goes 2 that thing there and thats how u put a uh halter on.. like really she ain't no expert
... anyone else wonder if maybe this is the kind of thing where it shouldn't be demonstrated online... I mean, if someone has this much trouble with such a simple thing, should they really be in such close contact with horses? Leave this to a trainer...
@Bergesca Then I guess I didn't get you meaning. Did you mean leave it to a trainer to show you how? Because some of us just don't have trainers. I put an add on craigslist and someone wanted to trade me their horse for my birdcage. So I graciously accepted. I'm not going to run out and hire a trainer I'm going to do my own research and read all I can read and maybe watch a ton of youtube videos. Me and my horse, we are going to learn together! lol
@TheGwynnSmith Hey good for you! Same sort of thing, I've never had a horse, but someone's giving me one because it's either me or the slaughterhouse and hey I think an inexperienced owner is better than becoming a frenchman's dinner.
How'd it work out for you btw? Encouragement please. lol.
@GoodRedBlackRatio Actually the lady had a family emergency and backed out of the trade she went to be with her sick father. I got an African Grey Parrot in trade instead and she is the smartest animal I have ever known. She laughes and talkes and even answers some questions. I'd still love to get a horse one day, but I am glad that plan fell through because then I wouldn't have Lucy the African Grey! Good luck to you though! I am sure you will do great! It takes compassion and you have it!
@TheGwynnSmith I don't even know how to respond to the fact that you traded a birdcage for a horse. That's strange, and something you submit to an editor for a "Collection of Horse Stories" book.
... here's an idea... ask the person you got the horse from questions: not only do they know stuff you want to know, but they know the horse you're learning on...
@Bergesca I think you need to learn to be nice because what if some who has just started riding is learning to put a headcoller on a horse!!!!!!!!!!!!!!1
what about when there older they have a horse of there own and they dont know how to put a headcoller on :/
I was 20 when I bought my first horse. I found a mentor to teach me how to work with her. If I had a question, the mentor was there to help me out of a situation I didn't know how to handle. I've read a library full of horse books, but it doesn't help you when you can't get off, go check a page, and then come back and re-try getting bucked-off again. Nobody's an Island, and if you don't know, it's extremely important to find someone who DOES so they can HELP YOU LEARN.
take those damn shades off and stop repeating yourself...oh ya and all halters have a crown piece...i think you meant an "adjustable crown piece"....duuuh
At least here she calls it properly. In some other videos she keeps calling it "the brow band"!!! She is so lame, must have learned on the Rice Krispies box. Oh, and what's the difference between haltering for grooming or saddling???
She pretty much put her nose in it by herself
