@Brady2k10 You are quite right, unless you are in the Philippines of course...... what most people don't realise is that in Filipino Eskrima sticks are only one aspect of a huge art which covers, impact weapons (sticks), edged weapons (knives), Flexible weapons (whip, sarong, nunchaku, chain etc). Projectile weapons (throwing knife) and of course empty hands (kicking, punching, striking, throwing, locking, controls, takedowns and much, much more). The stick is only one particular aspect.
if one day u want to come to kuala lumpur malaysia.u and ur friends will be more than welcome.i have a muay thai camp here but like to learn others arts as well.!!!
hi i was looking online for a local martial arts school in my town and the one i came across mixes both wing chun and doce pares together do you think it is a good combination or do you think i should try and find one with just one or the other please answer asap im starting tomorrow and the sensi i extremely talented at this
I love this stuff, but have a question, sparring as you call it is always 2 guys standing square in front of each other, doing hubad into throws, can we see any clips with sparring from a distance and actually using eskrido to move in? Also I am tryin g to learn this method but its rare in certain areas, any plans to spread out more and share the material?
when does anyone fight with sticks in a self defense situation.. rarely.. and thats not bing nasty, its being honest.
