Some black characters wouldn't hurt. It'd actually be more realistic, as there's tons of black fighters in real life mixed martial arts and boxing. Heavy D actually fits well into the game as a powerhouse boxer. Lucky and Brian were beyond fuckin' stupid inclusions. And to have lucky dribble and throw a basketball at his opponent is some of the most retarded shit ever.
To be honest, I really wish they brought back the USA team, even though they were only in 3 games, and also counted a individual strikers in Kof 2000 (PS2 Version), it makes no sense why SNK Playmore cannot simply add them back for another game. It's not like they hate them they made several background cameos in various Kof games, Neo Geo Battle Coliseum and they even have a cameo in a stage in XIII. Just saying though, it would give more variety to the roster.

Sorry if any of this sounds weird. KOF is like videogame nostalgia to me. I grew up strong with this fighting game series especially since fighting games are my top genre for gaming. I am a video-game nerd lol. For fighting overall though. Street Fighter first, then I was acquainted with KOF. I recall in the past always fighting against the computer on 97' or 98's carnival stage. With all the confetti and the cheering in the background. No BGM playing.
They just haven't made an actual playable appearance in any of the main KOF titles from my knowledge. There are photos on the internet, maybe even here on Youtube if you type in Smart Chang and Skinny Choi perhaps. I remember using them as tag-in characters for KOF 2000, it was the KOF on Sega Dreamcast with Iori on the front cover in red with the black background. I think it was 2000. Krizalid, guy similar to Igniz was the last boss. You had to fight him in three stages to win.

Actually he's technically in KoF XIII, if you check on the stages hes' in the background with the rest of Team USA. Samurai Shodown and Metal Slug characters also cameo in the backgrounds.

One of them is to bring back the first nine characters from '94 and '95 that aren't in XIII along with Geese Howard from '96.

@FantasticFranco Many fighting game characters are stereotypes and could be seen as borderline racist. As for bringing them back, I've had several ideas for potential sequels to XIII. One of them is to bring back the first nine characters from '94 and '95 that aren't in XIII along with Geese Howard from '96.
