After reading the TNG characters' involvement with Spock and Nero, it made watching the movie a thousand times better as well as provided a solid connection between the original continuity and the new timeline. On the other hand, There is great reason behind their ambiguity in the film which was to focus exclusively on the new TOS characters.

Believe what you want but TNG will never be on TV nor the Big Screen, again.

Paramount and CBS are going to dump everything into this new franchise. JJ Abrams is already slated to film two more Star Trek films with this new cast. By that time, about 5 or 6 years from now, the TNG cast will have gotten a lot older and movie goers will want to see this new cast NOT the old TNG cast anymore. Not to mention that Data is dead, too.

You'll only see TNG in comic books or books.

If they ever do another TNG movie, with another cast, i hope your young because it probably won't happen for a very long time.

This new Trek is going to be in the movies for the next five years or so. That's if they do a new movie every 2 to 3 years. Then who knows if this new Trek will go back into TV production? But I don't see that happening. What actor want's that kind of stress, shooting an episode every 8 to 10 days? Then the production values will not be like that on the big screen.

i think the end of the film will feature the tng crew in star trek 2011 bring spock prime back to the future and stoping another villain and after they make there way out they fix the timeline back to how it was they could do another 2 tng films who agree with me or not comment back or good or poor

Absolutely not !

There WILL NOT be another TNG film. Why do you think Paramount and JJ Abrams made up this alternate time line? It's so they could have a clean slate!

New cast and all new stories from this point on. Everything you ever watched, regarding Star Trek, has been made "null in void" because of this movie and it's new time line schtick.

They ARE NOT going to revive anything from the past anymore. From this point forward, all new stories.

dose anyone know what the heak happened to the Roumlan V shaped ridges i liked them better with that the comic makes it fit the movie, the plot was ok but it could have been much better. like in the end it could have been like becuse of the power of the supernova and the black hole a tempral rift is forming we are geting pulled in. something to make it more real but it did answer several questions i had on it. the new story seams intresting so i will just stay optomistic and hope for the best.

After seeing the movie I asked my fellow Trek fans, "man, there's a lot of HOLES in this story. Both in the story and in the science end of it, too." They said, "Oh, read "Countdown" that'll clear up some things for you." Well, guess what....it DIDN'T.

This is the first Trek story that DOESN'T try to fix a time line problem. That's my biggest gripe with this entire story. In ever other "time story" they always try to repair it, but NO not this time. JJ needs a clean slate.

Problems;

1}are all Romulans stupid? The Senate and Nero think it's Spock and Vulcan's fault that they didn't evac or do anything to help themselves? At least they tried.

2}why was the Ent E in Romulan space for? Isn't that a treaty violation? Especially firing weapons on Romulan citizens.

3}Data and B4 was outrageous. Data died in Nemesis and B4 was last seen singing that little tune.

4}why did they need so much decalithium, when they only needed a drop of red matter to stop the nova?

5}why did Nero fly ALL the way back to Vulcan, with the Enterprise E, and the decalithium. He said he trusted Spock, so go back to Romulus and evac your family and friends. Dah. And your going to tell me that a mining vessel is as fast as the Enterprise E? Yeah right!

6}page 38 of the graphic novel, upper block. It's stated that the shock wave would take weeks to get to Romulus. This is very true but the G.N. and movie make you think that the shock wave is moving at warp speed. WTF?

7} Black holes are now time plots?

8} page 97 of the graphic novel shouldn't even exist. Why? Because once Nero's ship and then Spock's ship went back in time they changed the future. Hence that time line with the Enterprise E no longer exists.

9} why would Romulus just sit on that regenerative Borg technology? Wouldn't they adopt some of their Warbirds with it ? They still are a passionate / warlike people.

you didn't watch nemesis did you the Romulans are good now but nero isn't with the empire ok the enteprise was called in to help the romulans because the Enterprise E is the only thing tuff enough to take down the Remans because the remans are working with nero to stop starfleet

But anyways...Yes, I did watch Nemesis. Probably 4 or 5 times.

Just because a couple of Warbirds helped the Ent E doesn't mean the Romulans are good now.

Also, Riker states at the end of Nemesis that he's taking the Titan to Romulus to start talks with the Romulans. The Enterprise doesn't go.

And in the comic book the Remans boarded Nero's ship and threatened Nero, too. That doesn't make them friends.

Its a bad story, this is similar to making up a story to have Kirk somehow meet Picard 100 years later, they have their agenda and make a bad story to fit it. Abram's wants to have a complete new reality for his star trek so they gotta make a story to fit it, but its weak.

I disagree whole heartedly. When the science in Science Fiction is really bad or unbelievable it does effect the story line. Star Trek especially has always has some degree of believability to it but when they write anything to justify their needs the movie plot weakens. That's why people don't watch 1950s B movies anymore. Because they were unbelievable and unbearable to watch.

Just know that this series (in the 24th century) is the prequel to a Kirk era movie... is spoiler enough for me. I would have prefered to learn of Nero's origins in the film.
