  • This takes some SERIOUS SKILL... You have a steering wheel that's jerking back and forth on a 9 degree banked straightaway and throttle control... Anyone who says this is luck is a typical 6 tooth Jimmie Johnson HATER.... JJ48 FOR LIFE

  • @Colddeed THANK YOU!!!

  • all thanks to the same air flaps people dont like

  • He cheated

  • SKILL?.....LUCK!

  • "right here it should come around and nose into the wall"

  • Not a single fuck was given that day by Jimmie.

  • if only i could see the steering wheel...

  • Thats not a save, thats a lucky spin .

  • @krammit087 thats no luck, pay attention to the tires. Coming off the corner he has them locked up under braking, than he alternates between forward, braking and reverse depending on his direction of the spin to give him just enough to stay off the wall

  • @g0ing2n0where No sir, when a car is spinning, if the clutch was in(or out of gear) and the brakes were off, the tires will change their direction of travel according to which way the car is moving. And then the car gets halfway in the grass, which has less grip than asphalt causing it to spin faster, and since he was already spinning towards the right, the leftwards movement of the spin was dissipated causing him to spin straight, all while he had his hands gripping the wheel.

  • @jclark300 Your explanation sounds correct, except in this instance as you are not watching the tires. When hes first spinning off the corner he has brakes locked, than you can clearly see the tires spinning in the opposite direction the car is traveling. He kicks it in reverse briefly. Than as the rear end of the car is heading towards the wall you can see the tires briefly spin forward. That is most certainly driver input. Once he hits the grass its just luck from there

  • @g0ing2n0where well good sir, i think we should agree to disagree :)

  • That is probably the greatest single save I have ever seen. And I say this as a hater. It doesn't matter if you hate someone, they are still great.

  • and thats y is a 5-time champ

  • Jimmie is a great driver, but this isn't really a "save"... car was out of control the whole time... pure luck kept him out of the wall

  • @DirtZombieVideos

Luck hand a hand in this yes, but pure is a bit extreme.

  • Jimmie has never been my favorite, but to all the "proud" Johnson haters out there, whoever your favorite driver is, can HE do what Jimmie did here?

  • @UberAntisocialist jj is my fav elwood 48 88 see

  • Show off...

  • thumbs up if nascar should go back to actual stock cars again (like in 2002.)

  • @sparky7679 i was at the last race in the old car (07) and it was awesome. i went to a few races with the new car, and they dont stack up. I went to races starting in 04. COT sucks

  • That a boy Jimmie. Freakin' UNPOSSIBLE save. Still love watching this over and over.

  • Like Boss

  • That's Impossible!

  • wow i can't believe he kept that off the wall excellent driving

  • @FedexCamry11 yeah i think that too

  • whoa jimmie is great

  • You can see that he's gassing it when the rear is facing the inside wall and then locking down/lifting when he's pointed towards the infield. That plus steering saves the car.

  • jamie's save is better, and I don't know how many of you notice this but matt kenseth seems to get loose in 1 and 2 on so many restarts at the end of the race and saves it.

  • props

  • And people say NASCAR takes no skill.

  • @SoFxDeadx How the fuck was the skill dickwad. That there is hard on the brakes, and counter steering, not hard at all. It was 50% luck anyway. NASCAR takes no skill, get the fuck over it

  • @Shumacher5 Ok, just because your stupid, doesnt mean you have to show it on youtube. It takes skill to stop a car goin about 150 mph on a banking like that to make sure it doesnt hit the wall. Just because your too stupid to understand anything, and you have the mind of a 3 year old, does not mean you should go around on youtube showing everybody you are an idiot.

  • @Shumacher5 Oh it doesn't take skill? So how many NASCAR races have you been in? Idiot. Go watch Schumacher lick Vettels left nut. Ask Juan Pablo Montoya how many NASCAR wins he has.

  • @Shumacher5

I generally prefer F1 to Nascar. But anybody who thinks it doesn't take skill to drive a Nascar has no idea what their talking about.

  • @SoFxDeadx it dont?

  • @SoFxDeadx there is no skill in nascar just turn left

  • @cjdj1993 apparently there is

  • I'm not a fan of Jimmie's aggressive driving style, especially coming out of the corners, but that was probably the best save I have ever seen. For sure in the top 2 along w/ AJ's save at Dover this year.

  • @Edge1Christian9301 Jimmie was only an aggresive driver in the 2nd half of 2010 and all of 2011 to keep his streak going, but other than that he is a clean driver. Im sorry but i cant tell if your talking about aggresive towards the track or driver, jsut wanted to see.

  • I am by no means a Jimmie Johnson fan. But I have to give the man his due, That was an amazing save! I loved seeing all the teams and drivers cheering and clapping when he finally locked it down.

  • @dustinp429 of course it was epic. You can't do dat even if u tried 10000000000000000 times. He had 11/12th's of a chance to do dat and he took dat chance, so don't even trie do it on NR2003 because it's almost impossible

  • yea give jimmy props... that was epic... now im gunna go try to do this a million times in NR2003 and im probably not gunna succeed. :D

  • mad skills

  • I cant take these commentators seriously since their voices sound so comical all the time

  • I think it shouldve come around and nose into the wall.

  • JJ you beast!

  • At 0:16

Jeff Gordon: "Now you see why I hired this guy!..."

  • @jaqua542. Well hes obviously out now. Lol

  • @jaqua542 ehh. Lol

  • when the car nose was pointing to the inside wall he breaked and when was to the outside wall he got on throttle. genius

  • Makes me even more proud to be a Jimmie fan. Best save Ive ever seen.

  • Like ahhhhh glove

  • I kinda wish DW would 'nose into the wall' so we wouldn't have to listen to the demented fool anymore.

  • I remember watching this when it happened. Pretty slick driving from 5x's.

  • Every1 is forgetting bout number 3 in the chase. Mr where did he come from. Carl an tony 4get bout him an mess up in the next 2 happy harvicks gonna have another smile on his face

  • @xxBorn2RaceX sure about that?...

  • I've been fan of his ever since Gordon first brought him on, but even I am looking forward to seeing who'll get the cup this year. Any bets on Smoke getting it done?

  • @wogolfer i thinks its gonna come down to homestead and smoke edges out carl by 15 points

  • @FedexCamry11 I'm a huge Jimmie fan, but i think that save in the truck race at dega last week was more impressive.

  • Why does everybody hate Jimmie Johnson? I'm from the UK so I don't know much about nascar. Could someone give me an explanation?

  • @tyresandkers He's won the championship the past 5 years in a row, so some people hate on him for that.

  • @tyresandkers Because he wins a lot.

  • i remember watching this live at my house

  • right there nose right into the wall

  • I bet if jimmie did that again, jeff won't be cheering like he did in this vid.

  • So DOVER is where they picked up the "Golden Horseshoe" lol

  • you can see jeff gordons hands up 0:14 lol

  • @Cobra51607 Just call it like it is.

  • Well, if he did wreck then thank god that they put safer barriers ALL over the fences. I saw Kurt win.

  • This is a real save - watch?v=JCEB0xnvAd4&feature=player_embedded

  • all he did what lock up the brakes then put the clutch in... just luck

  • @jclark300 HAHAHA! So, what your saying is, his brakes didn't work? You can clearly see his wheels moving every time his front of back bumper is towards the wall.

    Nice try though.

  • how he saved it i have no clue

  • @unfatkid11 Simple, when the car was turned with the front to the track, he accelerated, so the car went a little bit forward, this 2 or 3 times, and he avoided the crash, check his tires.

  • @Destroyed666Doom lol, nice try....how about u try to save a 3400 pound car at race speed? all the money in the world says u smash into the wall

  • @Cobra51607 I just told you how he did it, i didnt said i could do it.

  • "You cant do that here - I've never seen that done here" You know why you never seen that done there DW ? Because when JJ creeps that team48 lowes racing chevy onto the track everyone is in the presence of GREATNESS, thats why!

  • @Superbike54 nicely said

  • He better be thanking all them dirt races he used to do

  • "You can't do that here" "can't do" isn't in JJ's vocabulary.

  • this right here show's why he's one of the best EVER

  • @IreturnwithaVENGENCE Of course he wouldn't be winning without Chad and the crew, there isn't a single driver out there who could win without his crew. That's what makes it so hard to tell who'd the "best" driver. Even if they make an amazing save, someone could argue it's because the crew gave him a great handling car. The way to tell what TEAM is best is easy: it's who win races, and who wins championships.

  • Comment removed

  • @IreturnwithaVENGENCE Yeah, resetting the points for the chase doesn't make him great. But setting himself up perfectly all season, winning races, getting good finishes and very few DNFs, and then dominating the entire chase? THAT makes him a champion. You can't argue that.

  • @IreturnwithaVENGENCE Last I remembered, it's every man for themselves when it comes to the chase, and Busch blowing his lead is just a way of saying karmas a bitch, Jimmie won races by seeing wrecks ahead of him and going far left or far right to avoid the wreck because he is a veteran in the sport.

  • i think it was supposed to come around and nose into the wall

  • That is why he is a 5 time sprint cup champion

  • @countryboy5651 i was about to say that never mind lol :D

  • Amen wogolfer. People act like it somehow benefits the 48 only, as if the rest of the teams don't run under the se points system. Seriously NASCAR fans, grow a brain!

  • People should stop knocking the chase. All 43 guys know exactly what the format is, so no one has any advantage over the other. Jimmie is just a phenomenal driver (as clearly seen here) and he has one of the best crew chiefs in the sport (his over-the-wall guys leave a lot to be desired, I'll admit). Sorry he beats the hell out of your favorite driver every year, stop whining about it you babies.

  • saudi drift?

  • @codered2448 I know that bro. It's so bullshit tho. This stupid chase has given Johnson these championships.

  • @jeffbagwellbiggio Given? It has nothing to do with his amazing ability as a DRIVER? Look again!!!

  • Looked like he threw it in reverse, briefly, two different times. Amazing.

I've spun on a track in a Skip Barber formula car and I couldn't tell which way was right, left, up or down.

The fact that he can maintain composure and feather the throttle at just the right times as the car spins is astounding.

  • That wasn't a save lol .... That was a ton of luck and some good driving. But a save would be if he hadn't spun.

  • Dear haters and non believers.. Nascar CAN'T DRIVE for the 48 car.

  • GO JIMMIE!!!

  • that is why he won 3 coke 600s in a row

  • OMG! amazing!!!! He could have wreck that 48 if he didn't turn and make the little round and a round!

  • show off.......

  • KFOOOOO YA KING!!

    XDDDDD

  • I personally don't pay attention to nascar because its a very brain dead style of racing, but this guy jimmie johnson has some serious skill. He should do real hardcore racing in the american le mans series corvette

  • yeahhhhhhhhhhhhh THATS MY MAN !!!!!

    FUKKEN NASCAR JIMMIE FOREVER !!!!!

  • 5 titles he has won five titles and won the daytona 500 1 time so he's great

  • Jimmie Johnson is greater than Jeff gordan by a mile mostly because jimmies ahead of him by a mile every race.

  • This just shows how Jimmie Johnson is the greatest driver in NASCAR 5 in a row baby

  • i wish he went into the wall cheating and they give him 99 pecent of attention and 100 percent to jr so yh i wish he went into the wall

  • @TheVille8086 ugh hello? There's a guy here that has 6 championships? Has 84 career wins, won the Daytona 500 THREE times. If it wasn't for this BULLSHIT chase Jimmie would be nothing

  • @jeffbagwellbiggio only 4 championchips bud

  • @codered2448 wouldve been 6 without the chase, but the chase happened so its only four. sucks for jeff but great for jimmie

  • He had driving aids on xD

  • Man, I'm not a Johnson fan to any extent, but that, my friend, was awesome.

  • As much as I hate him, I gotta admit, that was amazing

  • @sasukeitatchiuchiha yap and if you been there you know lol

  • @sasukeitatchiuchiha why do you hate him?

  • its not a save if he was backwards.

  • Dirt racing pays off

  • Nice save, he earned four championships but he was given the last one by Nascar when they screwed Denny over.

  • @spriggs20 Agreed!

  • @spriggs20 how on earth did they screw Denny over? Bad fuel strategy at Phoenix and an accident at Homestead took them out of contention, not Nascar.

  • @jrfan07 They didn't score him one lap

  • I love this guy 5 straight titles yeah that's right. You guys call me when you're guy has 5 titles under his belt

  • I absolutely hate this guy, but that was a fucking sweet ass save.

  • <3

  • XD

  • Luck

  • @fishkicker84 nope. It would have been luck if he just locked up the brakes for the whole thing and didn't hit the wall.

  • @erasetoimprove Luck

  • Keselowski's save in the 2010 Nationwide race was more impressive, not that this one isn't!

  • Holding on for dear life. LOL Great save

  • @animeaddict309 hes not holding on for dear life, hes working the gas, brake, clutch and wheel....

  • @bethsqueak they keep the car from lifting up and flipping whenever it turns around backwards. They stop the airflow over the car.

  • what are those flaps that popped up?

  • @bethsqeak Air brakes

  • magic johnson

  • Why was Jeff Gordon clapping?

  • @paparoach189 It's his teammate, and he appreciates the talent it took to save that car. Nobody saves a car like that at Dover...until Jimmie did it.

  • @paparoach189 Gordon's not just his teammate - he owns part of the 48 car. When you see someone almost wreck your stuff and then not wreck it, you're pretty happy. :)

  • @paparoach189 Because that was awesome

  • @paparoach189 he wasn't the only driver i saw out there who was excited by this. Any race car driver would appreciate this especially seeing it up close in person.

  • i dont remember seeing this but damn thats freakin skillz!

  • He knows how to save it because of all the burnout he does.

  • @FoldedNICK LOL

  • Amazing save. When he was facing away from the wall he sped up, when he was facing towards it he was breaking.

  • @cpcomedy314 - That's what I was watching. And re-watching, about a dozen times over and over - to see exactly what he's doing there.

If you look -really- close at that video, he's in a forward gear and on the gas when he's facing out, then he's in REVERSE gear and on the gas when he's facing in. It's fabulous skill and driving ability for sure, but it's also amazing that he can make those shifts so fast and accurate in the midst of a spin... Just insane. :D

  • 5 people nosed into the wall.....

  • he cheats

  • @jaredsc18 How does he do that you looser. by applying some lazer beam on his car that stop him from hitting walls?

  • @MrToiletclogger loser*

  • @lebello lol thanks. i tend to add an extra o to loser.

  • @jaredsc18 yea he cheated alright, i clearly saw him hit VTEC which increased HP enough for him to spin the back tires and keep it off the wall <_<

  • @mchngwa63 would you be upset about them winning 5 in a row lol

  • "Woah Boys!!!!! This is Ugly""

    Gotta Love DW

  • "And right here, and right there and everywhere it should nose into the wall"

  • gt5 makes nascar seem like the shittest sport ever invented!

  • @IAMTURBINATOR GT5 is a severe disappointment no matter what car you're driving in that game.

  • as much as i Hate Jimmie, that was awesome :D

  • I love seeing the rear tires push and pull that car up the hill as it's spinning, that's some great gear shifting.

  • what are this things on the roof of the car..? sorry i'm euorpean xD

  • @Plaayboarding roof flaps, they help the car from going airbourne.

  • @Runepalidan1 really ? coool

  • @Plaayboarding something that for some stupid reason the rest of the world refuses to install on their race cars. Sure you can't have roof flaps on open wheel, but the full bodied cars should ALL have roof flaps.

  • the pitcrew's reactions are priceless

  • that was beyond amazing, that was all driving too because somehow he knew where he was to know when to put down the accelerator when his back was to the wall and hit the brake when he was facing it that was nothing but amazing

  • that was gay. i watched that live from the track. i was sitting in the first row on the start finish line. i was like " he should have crashed their and their and their and their like everyone else but of course Chad put something illegal on the car.

  • @43labontepetty Wow, REALLY? You think they put things on cars that stop them from hitting walls? Please enlighten us less knowledgeable fans about these technological breakthroughs you're so privy to. Here's reality, moron. You can't just 'put something illegal on the car'. It's not like you're playing Need For Speed and just buy stuff and 'install' it. And you can't put anything on a car that keeps it from hitting a wall, jackass.

  • @43labontepetty

Search "brad keselowski dover save". 1st video. I guess Paul Wolfe put something illegal on that car, didn't he?

My god. The ignorance of some people.

  • big deal keselowski did that too

  • @jukucoca doubt it
