  • Great lift!

  • awesome! my kind of squat form!

  • this guy is truly amazing, waywaywaywayway better than that clown lay nortom

  • Mate, your squats are wonderful and motivating.

  • Apparently, no matter how amazing something is, someone will critique your form. LOL.

  • good squat, but it's parallel, not "deep". Like I said I probably couldn't even quarter squat that so good job..

  • @eowdaoc It's as deep as my personal physiology allows without rounding my lower back. If you can go deeper, that's great. Not everybody can touch their ass to the floor.

  • @Blenderate this is a fair point, and i've followed your vids long enough to know that youre an awesome lifter, but eowadoc isn't wrong. the issue is with the word "deep" in the title and nothing else. i think you broke parallel, but "deep" isn't an accurate descriptive. that said, awesome lift.

  • @eowdaoc

It's not Ass To Grass but it's definitely way below parallel and pretty deep.

  • Hey so r u good at squats or what?

  • dude you are a fuckin beast nuff said

  • FREAK!!! especialy since you squatted that while listening to what ever that crap was playing in the back ground ;-)

  • I hope a few idiots know that everybody's legs are different. His legs may look parallel but his ass is always touching the floor; a true ATG squat.

  • are you fuckin idiots really bitching about goin parallel or deep, he just did 655lbs. i doubt any of you commenting on here probably dont even do half of that.

  • Totally legit and very impressive. Hat off to you good sir. But... still not technically a deep squat. Parallel, but not deep.

  • @DarkDaysAreHere It was well below parallel.

  • @Fir3fly798 No. It reached parallel, but not much below.

  • @DarkDaysAreHere wow you sure know fuck all about squatting then..this guys one of the best !!!!!!!!

  • @arniemonkey It´s a really strong squat and I´m very impressed. However it´s a parallel squat, no a deep squat.

  • @DarkDaysAreHere a true 'parallel' squat is pretty deep

  • sick weight

  • FUCK YES!!

  • This video is way better than you doing 405x?? reps.

  • holy hell

  • dude can you tutor me.

  • @TriangleSquare52 I do online diet and training consultation. If you're interested, send me a PM.

  • That's awesome squatting.

I'm heading out now to get a Tracy Chapman CD!

  • Do you have any tips on how to keep your back upright (besides obviosly focusing on it)?

  • @hoodloom22 Send me a PM. I think I can help you out with this. The way you worded it makes it sound like you're having almost the exact same issue I just recently learned how to correct.

  • Crazy.

  • @Ricanhilk I have a training log linked from most of my videos. My training changes frequently as I like to do a lot of experimentation.

  • i know each person is different and theres really no point in comparing single lifts between 2 people, but just out of curiosity, about how many times were you able to squat 495 before getting this? i know you like doing breathing sets of 20+ reps, but ive found that they can kinda inflate your anticipated 1RM because theres a big mental component in pushing through them, so how many times could you get 5 plates just doing a "regular" squat set?

keep up the good work man, really inspirational

  • @KiLLtRoCiTy01 I could squat 495 for about 9-10 reps when I did this.

  • @Blenderate cool, thanks for the response. im getting it for about 8-9 now but only max at 605. one more thing if you dont mind, and again i realize this is a vague question with a variety of responses, but on average how much do you think someone typically gets out of a weightlifting belt for squats? do u think there are people that might get zero added benefit or would u say pretty much everyone could at some level benefit from using one, however minor it may be?

    thanks again for the response

  • @KiLLtRoCiTy01 There used to be a world-class Russian powerlifter who squatted without a belt. Can't remember his name. But I think 99% of people are going to get at least 10 pounds out of it. People who use a belt all the time are going to be weaker without it than people who do a lot of beltless squatting, too.

  • @Blenderate Yuri Spinov?

  • no effence dude but we got highschool football players doing 450-485, and theyre like half your age.......

  • @sdmfsdmfn No "effence" taken. But I'm not sure what your point is. I know there are many people stronger than me and many who are weaker. I'm sure some of those football players are capable of out-squatting me given time.

  • @Blenderate im just saying i mean 655s good but there are ppl about half your age doing it... just point out a fun fact, chill bro lol

  • @sdmfsdmfn so thats 655 deep squat...shut your faggot mouth most dont even go parallel

  • @s1lvrinferno lol we got a keyboard warrior here! hahah 20-25 year old talking shit on youtube LOL makes me laugh, pathetic

  • @sdmfsdmfn this is coming from a guy who doesnt know how to spell offence...lmfao dumbass

  • @s1lvrinferno lol grammar fag.... smh

  • @sdmfsdmfn Can't hate just because I'm actually educated, unlike some retards

  • @s1lvrinferno grammmmmmmar faggggggggggggggg and nice job hitting the safety bar...noob

  • Good shit bro no pussy half squats like everyone else keep killin it...

  • Nice lift! Good depth and real RAW (the way it should be). What type of training routine do you follow? Where you peaking for a contest?

  • I am so jealous.

  • dear god 0.O

now thats strong, I salute you

  • That looks like an ordinary commercial gym. I am very surprised that the simple bars they have in those places and regular spring collars can handle that much weight & bounce.

  • Tracy Chapman FTW!

  • this dude is the man. great vids all around man.

  • R・I・P

  • awesome

  • Perfect form, most important.

  • incredible squat, you made it look easy, and so strong too!

  • fkn sweet

  • im impressed with your determination and strength...now let's put this to use by doing some olympic lifts...not sure if you are over 35 years old..if so you can lift masters and open

  • I'm 31, and too busy with powerlifting at the moment to pursue anything else. I also have some elbow mobility problems that have always made the clean and front squats very difficult for me.

  • I don't have a workout partner (usually lift @ 3AM!) and my gym doesn't have a power rack. In fact, they just have the rack seen in this video here. Do you have any suggestions on how I can best mitigate the risk involved in squatting on my own with such a rack?

  • There's really no risk. If you have a squat rack like the one in the video, you can just dump the bar onto it if you fail. Lots of people (including most olympic lifters) lift without even that much. If they fail, they dump the weight on the floor behind them.

  • I've thought of that but have been concerned with it bouncing off or only catching one of the bars and hitting someone behind me.

Should I practice dumping it? Sounds silly but I think it might give me peace of mind, haha

  • @socctty I agree...dont do weight you cant handle either, my best suggestion...just dump it though if you do, just as he said. He knows what hes doin

  • ur a beast.. but doesn't raw mean no support such as a belt.

  • In raw powerlifting, a belt and wrist wraps are usually allowed.

  • @Blenderate then what's a squat with no belt or wraps called? i'm not trying to be a dick, just curious. you lift a helluva lot more than i do.

  • @vulva45 i do your mom raw

  • oh nvm... i didn't see the belt, blended in with your clothes

    anyways very impresive

  • woah nice no belt

  • nice work!

  • holy shit, thats beastly! good song back there too lol, tracy chapman =p

  • Haha yeah, that was at my old gym. The new one plays much better lifting music. :)

  • Dude your beast. I'll be watching your squat vids every time before I work legs. I'm curious to know, and I know I must sound incompetent, but what is your bench? lol...

  • My best bench is 402 paused in competition, though I have done 405x3 in the gym.

  • Thanx

  • Beast! :)

  • That was awesome. Fantastic strength. The most impressive was that you actually went deep. A lot of times on YouTube, people won't even go to parallel let alone below it. Great lift!

  • Thanks for the insight. This was the first time in years that I tried a heavy single, so I wasn't used to it at all. I had been training high reps for months on end and decided to try a single on a whim one day, so I think I could do a lot better on the form if I trained for it.

  • Solid bro...very impressive. I love that you lift raw and without a belt/wraps, etc.

Keep it up man...you're a true inspiration.

  • Oops...didn't see the belt here...I guess a belt isn't such a bad thing if you are lifting over 600 freggin pounds!

  • Nice man.

Usually the "deep" in the title is someone trying to convince themselves that they broke parallel and it isn't even close.

    Great job.

  • hey man that looked easy, but nice job

  • What kind of shoes did you have on?

  • Adidas Equipment weightlifting shoes.

  • BEAUTIFUL, man!

  • perfect squat! it is the real deal. no equipment, and deep.

  • very impressive. i only do about half that weight. my bodyweight is half yours though(: keep it up.

  • Yes sir, That was deep, Well done big man!! 5 stars!!

  • You are a beast

  • Just curious but what is your weight? Do you have a journal anywhere? Really interesting stuff

  • I think my weight was about 270 when I did this. I used to have a journal, but nobody ever read it. Do you think I should start a new one?

  • Can you dunk a basketball? squatting that much you must be explosive

  • I can't even get close to dunking a basketball. The correlation between squatting strength and jumping ability is not as strong as you might believe.

  • So you don't ever do speed reps? :(

  • I have done speed work in the Westside style, but not any time recently. I was not training for 1RM strength leading up to this video.

  • jumping ability is mostly genetics

  • omg thats not human!!!

  • how about that music in the background...must have really pumped you up

  • I don't consider myself a human being next to you. If I get to my goal of 505, I will still be ever so far from your levels.

  • raped it.....sorry is is a little explicit...but damn....

  • that is some freaky stuff Andy.

  • beast

  • im sure u can add 5-10lbs more

  • whats the point in even spotting with so much weight.. if he fails, its not like the 2 skilly guys on each side are going to pick that up and rack it like its nothing..

  • If I fail, I can still lift 95% of the weight. The spotters only have to help a little bit.

Also, those two guys spotting me are pretty strong mofos in their own right.

  • You have got to be kidding me. I train with some advanced powerlifters who consistently compliment me on my depth.

This is as low as my physiology allows. Any lower, and my back would begin to round.

You might be confused by the angle of the camera. If it was down at knee level, you would clearly see that my hip joint comes several inches below my knee joint.

  • klusmier, you have no clue what you are talking about. That was well below parallel and would get 3 whites in even the most strict feds.

  • I would not say its as low as your body could go, but it is deep! It would pass in every federation. Tremendous raw squat! Whats your total raw? Whats your bodyweight? Also tremendous for high bar squat, this is up there with the best high bar squats I've seen. I think 730ish high bar by a shw -125kg+- olympic silver medalist was highest I've seen. Why don't you do low bar ad get over 700lbs? You could definitely do more with it, add some knee wraps also.

  • I haven't actually competed in powerlifting in years, so I have no idea what my total is. I've done a 415 bench and a 675 dead recently in the gym. I'm currently training for my first bodybuilding competition.

I always squat with a high bar placement because I think it's more athletic. I started doing them this way to help me in strongman competitions. As far as knee wraps, I actually feel guilty about using a belt on this and I want to squat 700 without either a belt or wraps.

  • klusmier you're a fucking idiot...

  • THAT WAS DEEP!

  • Awesome lift!

  • dude.... holy ****. That's legit.

  • oh, and by the way... next time you are in, walking on the treadmill, I will introduce myself... just don't crush me with your hands.

  • Sure, man. I look forward to it. I've been coming in almost every day around 12PM-2PM to do a little cardio.

  • andy why are u such a freak

  • Dude, I don't know. :) I can't take credit for it anymore than I can be proud of having brown eyes. It's just the way I am. :)

  • well nice job nonetheless
