Gee, you're so cute...on those cigarettes: it seems that a lot of smokers really do think light cigarettes are less of a health hazard, but the fact is that to get that lighter taste the tobacco has been "bleached'far more than non-lights, and they contain even higher maounts of toxins. I won't say smoking doesn't kill, but I switched from Marlboro to plain tobacco for roll-yer-own-cigs, and I don't start the day with coughing up gooey brown "stuff".But maybe I'll die just as fast.Oh, Tom RULES!

I think the light label wasn't a flavour, it was a way of tricking people into thinking they were smoking 'healthier' cigarettes. At least that's what I've read about it.

The sales pitch that the tobacco companies originally used on the 'light' version of their products was that they were less damaging to your health. 'Light' cigarettes were never a taste choice. Neither was filtered.

The term "Less Tar and Nicotine' used was in every ad. I discovered when I did smoke I would go through 3 packs of light to 1 pack of Cowboy Killers.

I"m guessing that people who think they can tell the difference between different cigarettes are fooling themselves. I used to smoke about 30yrs ago and except for menthol brands I remember all of them pretty much tasting the same.

I've had several relatives who have been, and still are, heavy smokers. Could never tell what the difference between "light" and "regular" was, but when I was REALLY young I thought it meant that the cigs were skinnier and easier to hold.

The "Flavored" Cigarettes are absolutely aimed at Children. I applaud the Government for putting a ban on those. But, the "Lights" However... Here in Canada, we already passed these nanny-state laws re: tobacco products. The Heath Canada warning must be 1/3 of the face of the pack (maybe 50% soon).

And they cannot be called "Mild" or "Light" as this risks confusing aliens who dropped in from space completely unaware that smoking is dangerous. The new word is "smoooooth."
