Wow. . . nobody in town ever talks about the planes that are dumping perfectly good fuel into the local corn crops to kill birds. I wonder why? (Happens only in your head.)
Dumping fuel before landing!!! WTF. You'd better hope that the planes get the landing right the first time because there wouldn't be any fly-by's for a second chance due to a bad approach. Too funny.
I agree that politicians are lairs, but taxing corporations isn't going to do anything but increase the cost of their goods. It's been proven through 40 years of increasing taxes on companies, that all the companies do is increase their prices
Instead of trying to tax that company in your town with the planes, get the regulations changed so that they have to land with the fuel, or build a structure to catch the fuel, or pay to help the purification of the water
I don't believe in global warming but I do believe that we should keep the earth clean. Also the Go green movement that we are having is helping our economy by forming new jobs. So these people might be making money off of telling us lies but at least it helps the economy going. It wouldn't hurt to recycle would it?
I understand precisely what you're saying: Of course job creation is good, and caring for the environment is even better, BUT that is not the issue here... The issue is that our politicians are trying to use the environment "card" to justify new taxes on Industries that produce polution. "Fine.." you say... Well, its not really, because those same Industries will then immediately pass any new taxes onto us, the consumers, and our bills will go through the roof, as a direct result...
And the REAL "kicker" is that Industries that polute will NOT lessen their carbon outputs either. (why would they when there's so much money to be made?). The real solution is to create incentive programs for alternative energy sources, whilst minimizing governmental support for poluting Industries. But don't hold your breath on this, as they stand to lose millions of dollars in tax revenue if they do...
Besides, it's much easier to punish the little guy instead (i.e. us).
Hey, I'm not a Global Warming Cultist, BUT, I must say that if the ice you';re referring too, is currently on land, then YES... if it melts it will raise sea levels. That is commonsense as well ;)
Kinda like, dropping an iceblock into a glass, that didn't initially have any ice in it. It's obvious that the level of the water in it will rise.
the question is. is it melting on land? all we hear about is that the ice is breaking off of land. Ice actually decreases in volume when it melts. thats how melting erosion works.
The beginning statement would be true if the ice was actually sitting on top of water....its not, its over land. Ice displaces water in a cup, not on land...
Does that Corporation that you can see from your roof happen to employ any of your buddies or their families? Don't move in next to the airport and then bitch about the noise that the airplanes make or in this case the fuel they drop. Have you ever thought of the reason why they drop fuel at 10K feet (that atomizes prior to hitting the ground) or why birds are mitigated near the airport.....plane crash very bad for those aboard and for those who live next to airport!
Are home owners any more honest than a homeless person? There are several rich politicians with several homes who will lie to you. Happens all the time.
wouldnt u use propogandists techniques if u were trying to get a message out? i don't understand ur arguments. 8 minutes of video and u never talk about motivation... republicans use scare tactics to stay in office and and perpetuate a bullshit war to gain resources and global corporate control....
al gore's motivation for alerting us of how we're fucking our environment is.... help business for recycling companies?
damn. waste of time. "we're not responsible its the corporations" nice.
"Melting ice won't raise sea levels any more than the melting ice in your drink would make your glass overflow".
Interesting analogy, but false. The majority of ice in the polar regions in over land mass and is not displacing water. A more accurate analogy would be - 'the ice you are holding over your drink. ' In other words as the ice melts it spills into the liquid. The ice isn't *in* the water. If you can't understand a simple concept like that, I doubt you can understand anything.
jOegOd; Absolutely true. I wish you well! It's ironic how many who have commented are more interested in your appearance rather than what you say...i wonder if they realise that Bob Hunter, founder of
People, corporations (limited liability), and state/government (practically no liability) are the problem. States are protecting big corporations, and the state is a business that forces you to pay for services no matter how crappy the quality, and grows ever bigger. See the insanity? Is MORE government control the answer? I think not. Individuality, personal freedom, free market (free from government coercion) and a sane monetary system however, is a solution, but won't happen anytime soon.
check out zeitgeist addendum. the true solution is the absence of a monetary system. it makes a lot of sense when u start thinking about it. there is no such thing as a "sane" monetary system.
Al Gore is just cashing in, but it is wise to protect the environment because it's our environment. We can't survive in space can we,they are using climate change to socially engineer the population but there is an ecological argument at it's basis that makes logical sense. If we crap on our own doorstep we'll start to get ill from disease etc, but it shouldn't be down to us it is big business they've just shifted blame back onto the people.
Goo video dude. =) And I agree completely. Dude you know high schools offer environmental science classes? I'm in it and it's crazy. XD We've cleverly dodged the whole global warming subject (all the book said so far is that there is global warming.)
We are currently in a cycle that has been repeating itself for hundreds of thousands of years. CO2 is good for the Earth. There is sound scientific evidence to support that Earth is in a cooling phase. Check out my postings. I will have "Global Cooling" part 3 - 7 up soon.
and so the retreating perrenial ice in the arctic, the receding glaciers around the world and the collapsing ice shelves in antarctica are doing so magically.
"Perennial ice" is "retreating ice". It's the loss of sea ice that is more than a year old.
"Receding glaciers" around the world are behaving as they're meant to. America's 'Great Lakes' are the result of glacier melts and mankind didn't cause that.
"Collapsing ice shelves" are a natural phenomenon called "shearing", where massive chunks of ice break away from it's shelf.
My video is 2 years old and I've posted plenty of links for you to review. This is all to novice for me to bother with.
Perennial ice is ice which is more than a year old and so has survived seasonal fluctuations. It's estimated this could all be gone by 2040.
No but CO2 did cause the "Great Lakes" no credible scientist will argue against the concept of CO2 regulating temperatures because if it were not true the world wouldn't have developed as it has. Climate Change is essentially responsible for life on Earth. CO2/methane is released by water and trees at certain temperatures causing pre-industrial warming.
I don't doubt the warming facts; It's the claims that it's a man-made phenomenon that I vehemently deny.
"Scientific consensus" is another way to say "it is not fact" - Credible scientists are arguing about this, many being the very people that first agreed with it.
There's a theory that states the oceans release CO2 as the climate warms in an effort to cool it.
Personally, I believe the theories of solar flare influence, because it is consistent for earth's long history.
So once again we get back to teh fundamental point of ignoring United Nations scientists.
Saying that UN scientists posessed a political bias is true infact their science reports were censored by members of the security council (eg the US under the previous administration). One example being the removing of stated harmful effects of Climate Change.
headlessrd : And since it is well-known that the Greenland and Antarctic ice is INCREASING, then Goremania is still just another inbred psychotic hoax . . . which is also well-known.
But I am willing to believe the scientific consensus about Climate change. It is controlled by CO2 and that is undeniable. We are emitting A LOT of CO2 that is undeniable.
Logical presumption we are causing Human Induced Climate Change.
If there is scientific consensus that the sun rose and has always risen due to vivaldi music I would be willing to believe it.
The consensus is that CO2 is responsible for the current temperature we have. The idea that CO2 in part regulates climate is as close to fact as possible. NASA scientists even use the basic idea in teraforming thought experiments.
According to some archaeologists, the Vikings may have been better able to explore and colonize many areas in Northern Europe while the climate was relatively warm during the Medieval Warm Period because there was less sea ice. They traveled by boats to Greenland among other places through seas that would later become blocked by sea ice during the Little Ice Age.
The Medieval Warm Period occurred before the Little Ice Age, a time of cool climate in Europe and other places around the world. The graph on the left shows a reconstruction of average global temperatures over the past 1000 years with temperatures during the Medieval Warm Period similar to the first part of the 20th Century, cooler temperatures during the Little Ice Age, and dramatic warming in recent decades. The Medieval Warm Period was likely cooler than the past few decades.
i love this thank you very much i am right now doing a debate in my class about global warming and it is just my friend and i vs my whole class even my teacher and you've opened up some new ideas for me and i thought this was funny peace out
Please put together your facts and share them with us. We who have are heads together need to start sharing and making effective tool to end these nuts. I now about my spelling, bad. Are there any other things I should research that helped you?
our 9/11 bombings were inherited from the clinton administration, when the USS Cole was bombed, clinton did nothing, carter started it all in the late 70's, now carter is back dealing (unsuccessfully) with the terrorist faction, Hamas. hamas spit in carters' face and sent him home, making the the USA look like idiots! carter needs a death warrant, and should be placed in the same room with barack obama for pure and plain idiocity! barack is the new carter '08, re-communized! grab your wallet!!
"In searching for a new enemy to unite us we came up with the idea that pollution, the threat of global warming, water shortages, famine and the like, would fit the bill." -- Club of Rome members Alexander King and Bertrand Schneider in their book 'The First Global Revolution'
Great video thanks. Just one thing. The analogy in the beginning of the ice cube melting in the cup is not quite the same. ocean level rising has to do with all the ice on top of greenland and antartica melting. This ice is not in the ocean so if it melts sea levels will rise. This may happen but the growing concensus is that it will not be due to human activity.
The US Senate Committe on Environment and Public Works has just issued a report in which 400 prominant international scientists say that AGW is a hoax.
"In searching for a new enemy to unite us we came up with the idea that pollution, the threat of global warming, water shortages, famine and the like, would fit the bill." -- Club of Rome members Alexander King and Bertrand Schneider in their book 'The First Global Revolution'
"Politicks is the science of good sense, applied to public affairs, and, as those are forever changing, what is wisdom to-day would be folly and perhaps, ruin to-morrow. Politicks is not a science so properly as a business. It cannot have fixed principles, from which a wise man would never swerve, unless the inconstancy of men's view of interest and the capriciousness of the tempers could be fixed." [Fisher Ames (1758--1808)]
The peasant is at present the best; and the peasant type should be master! But it is the kingdom of the rabble- I no longer allow anything to be imposed upon me. The rabble, however- that means, hodgepodge.
Rabble-hodgepodge: therein is everything mixed with everything, saint and swindler, gentleman and Jew, and every beast out of Noah's ark.
Believe what you want , I just look at the facts. I used to believe in man made global warming until I looked at legitamate scientific material . Not some politician , or shill for the oil industry.
Only you can judge for yourself and if you think you know better , then maybe you do. You go ahead now and save the planet , and I'll just save myself. Bickering is a waste of time .
A reasonably concerned points of view. Unlike those who are pigheaded and believe without reason and therefore cannot be convinced by reason. However, to improveis to change and to be perfect is to change often one's point of view, for, nothing is right or wrong only thinking makes it so. Scholars of Mein Kamph and the Koran are pigheaded, passionately dogmatic and emotional, but one cannot judge emotional matters objectively just as one cannot judge objectively with emotions in the way.
OK people stop generalizing shit, it just proves you know nothing about the variables that are included in REAL LIFE SCIENCE from REAL LIFE SCIENTISTS. Global warming IS real. REAL scientists know this because TESTED DATA for all possible accounts. Just because the planet was warmer at one point or another, doesn't mean shit, ok?
Oil, gas and coal companies couldn't hire a better shill. If there is even a small chance (say less than 10%) that global climate change caused by human activity will create a disaster (and an overwhelming majority of non-oil and gas sponsored scientists agree that it is at least that likely,) then it is idiotic to do nothing. I say the first cap on CO2 emissions should be on the mouths of morons like j0eg0d so that those with a sensible approach to solving this problem can proceed in peace.
Scientists who probed two kilometers (1.2 miles) through a Greenland glacier to recover the oldest plant DNA on record said Thursday the planet was far warmer hundreds of thousands of years ago than is generally believed.
DNA of trees, plants and insects including butterflies and spiders from beneath the southern Greenland glacier was estimated to date to 450,000 to 900,000 years ago, according to the remnants retrieved from this long-vanished boreal forest.
Werent hurricanes connected to global warming? When was the last time we had one? 2005? Werent we suppossed to have more of them because of global warming. Al Gore and the libs are fucking liars.
I agree j0eg0d! Why would you believe an ex politician who has no credentials in climatology that I know of. I have not seen any rise in the sea levels where I live in the 40 years I have been going to the beach. Al Gore and all the other popular climate gurus know their are cheaper automotive fuels such as electric cars, compressed air cars, ethanol, hydrogen, steam and water powered cars etc... but are they pushing for govt. funding to develop these and get off fossil fuel usage. No way!
Yeah, not many people know that Climatologists are nothing more than weather men with updated titles. People are just begging to be taxed and I'm sure our politicians are just laughing their asses off about it.
The focus of the US government is that responsibilities fall to the public rather than themselves or Corporations. There's people agreeing to "carbon taxes" on our gasoline while big business continues to receive tax cuts.
Government should be for the people,by the people, your constitution should ensure this.
If your government is not acting in the best interests of the majority, but acting for the interests of a few then you should be invoking your constitutional rights.
When you allow the majority to rule it causes minorities to fail. Our Constitution is about balances for ALL people, although our Congress is reforming the Republic into a complete democracy.
Our schools have studied Climate Change since the late 1960's. It used to be called "Global Cooling" and we were presented with a hype that our planet was going to freeze over.
The problem in America is that people are following whatever the media is telling them.
People are accepting the hype rather than the facts. One key fact being, that this has all happened many times before without human involvement.
Since the 6 months after I've posted this video - I've gone out of my way to enlighten people like yourself. I want people to focus on real environmental problems such as Sulfur Dioxide being pumped into the air, chemical waste and toxins pouring into our water supply and the soil being contaminated with heavy metals such as Mercury.
One big difference is that "Global Cooling" was *never* backed up in the actual peer-reviewed scientific research. It was entirely media hype. Global warming, however, has the overwhelming majority of science behind it. Seriously, you need to do a bit more/wider reading on this topic. These are old well-discussed and well-refuted issues.
The causes for climate change have different theories and the majority is not for carbon dioxide. You should remember the difference between the truth and theories. The oceans release more CO2 than humans do, but advocates are trying to bury that fact.
Do you have any support for your statement "the majority is not for carbon dioxide"? Because reviews of the published scientific literature are wholly in disagreement with you. As for the oceans (and other natural sources) releasing more CO2 than humans, that is true, but they are balanced by natural sinks of CO2. We are tipping that balance and as a result CO2 is accumulating in the atmosphere. The accumulation of CO2 since the industrial revolution is a documented fact.
No, oceans don't exert a net positive increase in C02 concentration, like human activities do. In any given year, human C02 levels pale in comparison to natural sources, but that is then re-absorbed back in Northern Hemisphere summers. We can actually prove that the increase in C02 is due to human activities based upon the ratio of carbon 12 and carbon 13 isotopes.
The top layer of the ocean releases low traces of carbon everyday and that's the evidence you know of. But these "climatologists" are ignoring the largest carbon releases which come from the bottom of the ocean.
They even ignore that the shipping industry produces more CO2 than the total number of cars on the highways. As their only focused on individual sources rather than government & corporations.
No, their only focus ISN"T on individual consumer usage. Watching TV may suggest that, but consider the demographic they're targeting.
We can attribute the rise in C02 to humans through isotopic (c12, c13) analysis. It's true that the oceans can release carbon, but only after substantial warming is under way.
Last year the UK we recorded the highest temperatures since records began, several thousand people died as a result,we also experienced the mildest winter since records began, spring was at least two weeks early,we have just experienced the highest rainfalls in June since records began, and there has been widespread flooding, the repair bill is estimated to top a billion pounds, that is all in less than a year.
Along with many experts I do not believe the suns activity played any part in this.
This "solar tsunami" sounds like pseudoscience to me. Scientists have calculated that solar activity has not been enough to account for recent warming. Add in the effect of CO2, however, and it starts to line up. So believe the Almanac if you like, but until you present evidence that their predictions are as accurate as you claim, and that their "solar tsunami" theory can predict climate change better than the scientists' models, then don't expect any rational-minded person to believe you.
The sophisticated satellite measurements they took for the past 40 years was on how bright the sun glowed. Not very scientific in relation to global effects, really.
Maybe you could GOOGLE sunspots & solar tsunamis ?
I believe the research covered total solar radiation, the number of sunspots and cosmic ray intensity and found no correlation with current global warming.
The reseach was carried out by solar physicists from the Rutherford Appleton labs.the University of Southampton and the World Radiation centre in Dorf,Switzerland, the research findings are also being forwarded to the Royal Society for scrutiny.
This falls into the range of "well, the scientists never thought of *this*" conspiracy theories. Guess what, the scientists who study this stuff do it for a living and they generally have considered a lot more possibilities than you give them credit for. But if you're not willing to look at the scientific research and see for yourself, then I have no more time for you.
The farmer's almanac never makes predictions more than about 1-2 years, whereas global warming occurs over several decades. The Almanac could never have predicted global warming in a long-term sense, simply because it doesn't make such predictions. Also, the Almanac only concerns itself with US regional weather, not global climate. (continued)
This global warming scare was fabricated by the "enlightened elites". A global crisis needing a global solution. The UN will be granted authority over the laws of all nations. Like Al Gore, these globalists have sold their souls and betrayed humanity. "A New World Order" is being prepared incrementally. They are succeeding because people are completely brainwashed by the media. The goal of these elite is to enslave the world by total control of the finances of a micro-chipped population.
Am I the only one finding it curious that this "enlightened" fella has an edit after each pontification? Is this guy truly incapable of squeezing out more than a sentence at a time?
I can just hear Billy-Bob behind the camera -- "CUT! Ok buddy you ran out of words again, just take it easy, don't over-think it -- TAKE 67!"
Why does the Global warming debate in the US revolve around Al Gore, were Americans aware of Global warming before Al Gore began commenting upon it?Here in the UK we were aware of GW long before Al Gore came onto the scene,we see him as just another commentator.
Al Gores less than perfect portrayal of the science behind AGW has created "A Convenient Strawman" for conservatives and "skeptics" who just want global warming to go away. It's quite frustrating.
it is true that some scientists believe CO2 is causing the warming and some don't. the truth is likely to be that high enough CO2 will cause warming, but this is, true, a weather prediction.
i have some data on
kayve(dot)net(slash)kayve
that is linked to scientific research. if you are at a university library you can read what scientists say (not politicians). gore distorts some data but he is in line with the opinions of many scientists.
Scientists never said the sun revolved around the earth - political and religious leader did, because science contradicts christians religion beliefs on nearly every count. You are either a liar or grossly misinformed.
your a smart guy who cares about important things.
But just like almost every person on the face off this planet im not willing to march down to capital hill and revolt against the machine.
I think ive just accepted the doom of our species. Whether it be now 50 100 or 65,000,000,000 years from now when the sun runs out of gas and supernovas.
of course you could always train the birds to fly into that companies planes ^.^ or better yet, train people to care about people not money.
Morons! Every independent and federally funded research group is in concensus on the issue: Global warming is a real threat. That boneheads without an incling of scientific credentials would argue 'against' what almost EVERY CLIMATOLOGIST in the world asserts as proven fact simply amazes me! Must be the same group that denies evolution.
Incorrect. The consensus of scientific research BY PHYSICISTS points out how this has all happened before without human-beings and that the greatest amount of CO2 comes from our oceans. Climatologist is an invented term for "Weather Man".
I dont like global warming and i dont want to believe it, but its pretty real as far as i think. But yeah im not scared of it, im in canada and on highland.
and yesh al gore is an alarmist. does he support nuclear power? as it stands its the cleanest most reliable energy source out there
I'll just comment on the first detail in this poorly reasoned video: If the ice isn't in your drink, but the glass is already full, if you melt some ice cubes and pour them into the drink, it will overflow. That's Greenland, the glaciers, etc. Simple thinking isn't always right.
Thats the problem here!! What else are they supposed to do. Make their own solar powered cars? Listen up, there are somethings that the people can't do, it takes a government to accomplish.
Watch "Who killed the electric car". I'd love to buy one, they just don't exist anymore thanks to human greed and hubris.
When we breath out that is carbon dioxide. Should we consider ourselves polluters? Some people do. A carbon tax, what would that do for the world when the richest can afford it? Should we tax ourselves for breathing?
In looking into this debate some scientist hold the view that Co2 is driven by the heat, not heat driven by Co2. And many more topics relating to this debate.
Algore speaks to the whole world, not only to you guys. do you know what is really sad? for you to think trough algores film. The question is not about your politcs and their speachs, is much bigger them USA. So you shoul listen to what he has to say, cause was the only way to move a nation of fat jerks!
i cannot believe in you americans? the whole world is suffering with it, and you idiots spend time talking crap. Do you know about the Kyoto Protocol, how other countries are sufering because of americans? Not signing it has to do with americans! Crap people for a crap country! Not to pay atention on global warming, or try to turn into a myth is really sad, and stupid or americam, as you prefer. to make an excuse to be one BIG IDIOT!
So tell me, Miss/Mr. Know it all, where the hell are you from? I want to know what country has all the brains! Seeing as you can buy into all this "crap" I already know how "smart" you are!
The environment is made up of every resource we have. We take those resources and turn them into everything you see in the modern world. No more resources no more shit i.e. no clean water = no life on earth. There are ways to live more symbiotic with nature without abandoning science.
Corporations can be held accountable for the pollution they create. Parts of China have banned plastic packaging. Maybe some products shouldn't be made at all, but that doesn't mean we go back to being cavemen. We are part of nature not against it. We are essentially spending rivers to buy bottled water, It costs nature to buy nikes. The environment is the economy!
NEWS!!!!! Google this: "Head of NASA downplays global warming". The NASA chief says it's "rather arrogant" for people to take the position that today's climate is the optimal one.
No doubt the green movement and the libs will try and sling mud against this scientist for his opposition.
If you look at James Hansens statement he gets his panties in a wad because "172 countries have agreed that GW is an issue", then he goes on regarding death and destruction and said his statement was ignorant, very pathetic. typical liberal alarmist scare tactic response. Climate change is real, Michael Griffin never said it isn't.
"Look what's happening in Venezula as we speak." The fact that you brought that up leads me to believe that you get all your information from fox news. google: Venezuela and the Media: Fact and Fiction, its a less slanted analysis of the rctvn thing. you don't have to believe it, but just know there are other opinions than those of newscorp
Ohh this ones actually about this video... you say "its not us who's doing this, it's the corporations", exactly what I'm saying, however we are supporting these corporations with our dollars one way or another. The environment is the economy and corporations are destroying the earths resources!
Another view that is overlooked is the fact that the middle east, possibly the most diplomatically unstable regions on the planet, holds a huge percent of the worlds oil. Meaning if there was an all out war in the future, every modern country apart from brazil would face serious economic turmoil. Why do think people are so afraid of Iran with nukes.
This alone should make people wan't to change but they're too pissed off about Al gore winning an oscar to sort out the pros and cons.
"The American people will never knowingly adopt Socialism. But under the name of "liberalism" they will adopt every fragment of the Socialist program, until one day America will be a Socialist nation without knowing how it happened." Norman Thomas ( a tried and true liberal socialist) But then, what the hell did he know, compared to you?
What exactly is socialized in America? Public school? Every mother fucking thing is privatized! The people own nothing and are slaves to monstrous corporations who's power trumps our governments. I would rather have my tax dollars go to programs that benefit society rather than KBR stock holders. Corporate fascism has replaced the free market putting all the power in the hands of the few. There are many countries with socialized medicine, free college, etc.
that are far from communist police states. Sure they pay a little more income tax. Most of us pay $4,220.00 plus 25% of the amount over 30,650, and what are we buying? A war to make oil companies, military contractors and their stock holders extremely wealthy.
most liberals don't want communism. They want democracy! We do not have democracy in America anymore. I'm not against guns because once the last corporate merger takes place and the stars and stripes replace the nike swoosh we will need to fend off the thought police when they come to put computer chips in our brains. We are headed for a form of totalitarianism but its not due to socialization it due to privatization.
Such bitterness must be rooted in some form of imagined perscution. Mental slavery you may suffer, but neither you nor I are slaves. You have the will if not the inititive to improve your lot. You rant about the "wealthy" stock holders. I have stocks and bonds and am far from wealthy. It looks like you have been seduced by the negative thought police. Lighten up amigo and try to enjoy life. I preached to my children to always try and turn a disadvantage into an adantage if possible.
Privatization beats the hell out of nationaization. Look what's happening in Venezula as we speak. As for "socialized medicine, free college etc.", why should I, who have worked damn hard, saved, invested, and often denied myself over the years, have to subsidize assholes who piss there money away on frivolous crap and complain about how they can't get ahead for every imagined reason other than their own stupidity.
You seem Like a reasonably intelligent fellow. Use that intelligence to improve your own situtaion. The world and it's fruitful cornucopia of bullshit problems will be here long after they shovel dirt in your face.
MY situation is not as dire as many in this country. I am a student, and military member who works damn hard. You would be wealthy if you put your money in oil or military service contracts, but at what social cost. If you don't believe that corporate power is chiseling away democracy, the environment, and free speech(in the form of media control)then you are blind. A corporation has more protection, rights, and political influence than a person and that is wrong.
I only have health care 1 weekend a month and many of my friends have none-- all from middle class families. Health care shouldn't be a luxury. Education is an investment to society. I guess it would be easier to ignore that when oil is no longer cheap enough for farmers to afford gasoline the grocery store will be empty. It would be easier to convince myself that my friends are dieing protecting us from terrorists and not securing oil fields to perpetuate an unsustainable
Oil company profits are miniscule compared to taxes confuscated by gov. NC extorts 29c for every gal sold,18c+ for fed. It's likely worse up North. Enviornmentalist fanatics have discouraged building new refineries since 1978 or so. Who needs oil anyhow? Maybe enviornmentalists should grow their own food,no chemical fertilizers, raise sheep or grow cotton and make their own clothes, ride a horse and use none of the modern convienences resulting from petroleum production.
They would have come credibility then. As for our Venezula,Foxx News has coverd the demontrations live. What crystal ball do you use to obtain your supposed supoerior knowledge of what's happening there? You approve of another despot ruling in the pattern of Castro? Read the Koran, blueprint for terrorism, the communist manifesto, syllabus for converting a democracy to socialism, and the constitution, a viable plan being obfustated by selserving polititions. Put the blame where it lay.
Obfuscated, sorry about that. I am no fan of big corp. But what would we have without them? American Idol, sports and having a good time in general seem to take presidence of what our polititians are doing to us, Until attitudes change, nothing else will.
Got to go,I'm hitting more wrong keys and it looks like I spell at a third grade level. Beides, my mouse is dirty and not functioning properly. Have a better day.
I do not consider fox news a reputable source, because it isn't. I still watch it because I feel its important to use as many sources as possible while forming a world view. My crystal ball is made up of our mainstream media, as well as other countries, scholarly journals, documentaries, pretty much I just read a lot and filter out the propaganda. did you read the article I mentioned about foxes reporting on Venezuela?
Oil production is being intentionally slowed to jack up the price under the cover if the war effort. You should really care about the environment more. We use natural resources in production of everything. The environment is the economy
Wow. . . nobody in town ever talks about the planes that are dumping perfectly good fuel into the local corn crops to kill birds.

The alarmists try to win with name calling and lies.
then they accuse people with real science that debunks the scam as liars.

I don't believe in global warming but I do believe that we should keep the earth clean. Also the Go green movement that we are having is helping our economy by forming new jobs. So these people might be making money off of telling us lies but at least it helps the economy going. It wouldn't hurt to recycle would it?
batistaker123 1 year ago
I understand precisely what you're saying: Of course job creation is good, and caring for the environment is even better, BUT that is not the issue here... The issue is that our politicians are trying to use the environment "card" to justify new taxes on Industries that produce polution. "Fine.." you say... Well, its not really, because those same Industries will then immediately pass any new taxes onto us, the consumers, and our bills will go through the roof, as a direct result...
TheColonelsKitchen 1 year ago
And the REAL "kicker" is that Industries that polute will NOT lessen their carbon outputs either. (why would they when there's so much money to be made?). The real solution is to create incentive programs for alternative energy sources, whilst minimizing governmental support for poluting Industries. But don't hold your breath on this, as they stand to lose millions of dollars in tax revenue if they do...
Besides, it's much easier to punish the little guy instead (i.e. us).
TheColonelsKitchen 1 year ago
Hey, I'm not a Global Warming Cultist, BUT, I must say that if the ice you';re referring too, is currently on land, then YES... if it melts it will raise sea levels. That is commonsense as well ;)
Kinda like, dropping an iceblock into a glass, that didn't initially have any ice in it. It's obvious that the level of the water in it will rise.
TheColonelsKitchen 1 year ago
the question is. is it melting on land? all we hear about is that the ice is breaking off of land. Ice actually decreases in volume when it melts. thats how melting erosion works.

Actually the concern with melting ice is with Greenland and Antarctica(that's what an Inconvenient truth refers to)
Infact if every ice cap and glacier on earth were to melt this could raise the sea level by approx 80 metres.

and so the retreating perrenial ice in the arctic, the receding glaciers around the world and the collapsing ice shelves in antarctica are doing so magically.
headlessrd 3 years ago
"Perennial ice" is "retreating ice". It's the loss of sea ice that is more than a year old.
"Receding glaciers" around the world are behaving as they're meant to. America's 'Great Lakes' are the result of glacier melts and mankind didn't cause that.
"Collapsing ice shelves" are a natural phenomenon called "shearing", where massive chunks of ice break away from it's shelf.
My video is 2 years old and I've posted plenty of links for you to review. This is all to novice for me to bother with.
j0eg0d 3 years ago
Perennial ice is ice which is more than a year old and so has survived seasonal fluctuations. It's estimated this could all be gone by 2040.
No but CO2 did cause the "Great Lakes" no credible scientist will argue against the concept of CO2 regulating temperatures because if it were not true the world wouldn't have developed as it has. Climate Change is essentially responsible for life on Earth. CO2/methane is released by water and trees at certain temperatures causing pre-industrial warming.
headlessrd 3 years ago

One example being the removing of stated harmful effects of Climate Change.
headlessrd 3 years ago
Climate changes happen, so you'll just ignore facts to favor the political bias you're more inclined to believe.
The worldwide solution is just carbon offsets. The perfect tax scam, because it plays on fear rather than truth.
Meanwhile corporations get to pump SO2 in the air, because they pay their punishment fees that allows them to.
But, we have to make sacrifices ? We should be more responsible ?
I don't know why you can't see the obvious, but I can't waste my time showing it to you.

According to some archaeologists, the Vikings may have been better able to explore and colonize many areas in Northern Europe while the climate was relatively warm during the Medieval Warm Period because there was less sea ice. They traveled by boats to Greenland among other places through seas that would later become blocked by sea ice during the Little Ice Age.
gatekeeper96740 3 years ago
The Medieval Warm Period occurred before the Little Ice Age, a time of cool climate in Europe and other places around the world. The graph on the left shows a reconstruction of average global temperatures over the past 1000 years with temperatures during the Medieval Warm Period similar to the first part of the 20th Century, cooler temperatures during the Little Ice Age, and dramatic warming in recent decades. The Medieval Warm Period was likely cooler than the past few decades.

One big difference is that "Global Cooling" was *never* backed up in the actual peer-reviewed scientific research. It was entirely media hype. Global warming, however, has the overwhelming majority of science behind it. Seriously, you need to do a bit more/wider reading on this topic. These are old well-discussed and well-refuted issues.
penguinx42 4 years ago
The causes for climate change have different theories and the majority is not for carbon dioxide. You should remember the difference between the truth and theories. The oceans release more CO2 than humans do, but advocates are trying to bury that fact.
j0eg0d 4 years ago
Do you have any support for your statement "the majority is not for carbon dioxide"? Because reviews of the published scientific literature are wholly in disagreement with you. As for the oceans (and other natural sources) releasing more CO2 than humans, that is true, but they are balanced by natural sinks of CO2. We are tipping that balance and as a result CO2 is accumulating in the atmosphere. The accumulation of CO2 since the industrial revolution is a documented fact.
penguinx42 4 years ago
I posted this 6 months ago with about 3 follow up videos and all the information I care to present anymore.
The scientific literature you're referring to are adjunct professors and weather men calling themselves Climatologists.
All of this has happened many times before.
j0eg0d 4 years ago
No, oceans don't exert a net positive increase in C02 concentration, like human activities do. In any given year, human C02 levels pale in comparison to natural sources, but that is then re-absorbed back in Northern Hemisphere summers. We can actually prove that the increase in C02 is due to human activities based upon the ratio of carbon 12 and carbon 13 isotopes.
BeachofDreams 4 years ago
The top layer of the ocean releases low traces of carbon everyday and that's the evidence you know of. But these "climatologists" are ignoring the largest carbon releases which come from the bottom of the ocean.
They even ignore that the shipping industry produces more CO2 than the total number of cars on the highways. As their only focused on individual sources rather than government & corporations.
j0eg0d 4 years ago
No, their only focus ISN"T on individual consumer usage. Watching TV may suggest that, but consider the demographic they're targeting.
We can attribute the rise in C02 to humans through isotopic (c12, c13) analysis. It's true that the oceans can release carbon, but only after substantial warming is under way.
BeachofDreams 4 years ago
Last year the UK we recorded the highest temperatures since records began, several thousand people died as a result,we also experienced the mildest winter since records began, spring was at least two weeks early,we have just experienced the highest rainfalls in June since records began, and there has been widespread flooding, the repair bill is estimated to top a billion pounds, that is all in less than a year.

America had the same troubles as a solar tsunami erupted last year and caused unusual seasonal changes.
j0eg0d 4 years ago
This "solar tsunami" sounds like pseudoscience to me. Scientists have calculated that solar activity has not been enough to account for recent warming. Add in the effect of CO2, however, and it starts to line up. So believe the Almanac if you like, but until you present evidence that their predictions are as accurate as you claim, and that their "solar tsunami" theory can predict climate change better than the scientists' models, then don't expect any rational-minded person to believe you.
penguinx42 4 years ago
penguinx42,If you google "global warming new scienist"there is the latest report(9th july) discrediting solar activity as the cause of GW.
arryhuk 4 years ago
I've read the "New Scientist" magazine article.
The sophisticated satellite measurements they took for the past 40 years was on how bright the sun glowed. Not very scientific in relation to global effects, really.
Maybe you could GOOGLE sunspots & solar tsunamis ?
j0eg0d 4 years ago
I believe the research covered total solar radiation, the number of sunspots and cosmic ray intensity and found no correlation with current global warming.
The reseach was carried out by solar physicists from the Rutherford Appleton labs.the University of Southampton and the World Radiation centre in Dorf,Switzerland, the research findings are also being forwarded to the Royal Society for scrutiny.
arryhuk 4 years ago
There's differences between long term activities of solar radiation and the explosion of a solar tsunami.
They average the constant exposure for a number of years in comparison, but it's ignoring huge numbers and sizes of sun spots.
One blast can effect our planet for hundreds of years and it would go almost unnoticed by satellite measurements.
They even have theories about a massive burst of solar radiation wiping out dinosaurs.
j0eg0d 4 years ago
This falls into the range of "well, the scientists never thought of *this*" conspiracy theories. Guess what, the scientists who study this stuff do it for a living and they generally have considered a lot more possibilities than you give them credit for. But if you're not willing to look at the scientific research and see for yourself, then I have no more time for you.
penguinx42 4 years ago
The farmer's almanac never makes predictions more than about 1-2 years, whereas global warming occurs over several decades. The Almanac could never have predicted global warming in a long-term sense, simply because it doesn't make such predictions. Also, the Almanac only concerns itself with US regional weather, not global climate. (continued)

This global warming scare was fabricated by the "enlightened elites". A global crisis needing a global solution. The UN will be granted authority over the laws of all nations.

Why does the Global warming debate in the US revolve around Al Gore, were Americans aware of Global warming before Al Gore began commenting upon it?Here in the UK we were aware of GW long before Al Gore came onto the scene,we see him as just another commentator.
arryhuk 4 years ago
Al Gores less than perfect portrayal of the science behind AGW has created "A Convenient Strawman" for conservatives and "skeptics" who just want global warming to go away. It's quite frustrating.
penguinx42 4 years ago
it is true that some scientists believe CO2 is causing the warming and some don't. the truth is likely to be that high enough CO2 will cause warming, but this is, true, a weather prediction.
i have some data on
kayve(dot)net(slash)kayve
that is linked to scientific research. if you are at a university library you can read what scientists say (not politicians). gore distorts some data but he is in line with the opinions of many scientists.
kayvey 4 years ago
gore DOES distort and misrepresent at least a couple of things:
1) mistakes antarctica for greenland in the idea that the dawn of the industrial age can be seen. the exaggeration is obviously alarmist in emphasis.
2) gets the CO2/warming cause effect relationship absolutely backwards, again alarmist in emphasis.

Scientists are never wrong, like whe they said the Sun revolved arounf the Earth.
PartyWithChumpsky 4 years ago
skeptics are winning public opinion just as they are winning the scientific debate. google "'Scepticism' over climate claims"
AlGoreIsAMoron 4 years ago
Scientists never said the sun revolved around the earth - political and religious leader did, because science contradicts christians religion beliefs on nearly every count. You are either a liar or grossly misinformed.
wheeler10 4 years ago
What are scientists really saying about global warming? Check out my new video "Global Warming - Sun" to find out.

your a smart guy who cares about important things.
JuggernautJeep 4 years ago
Shakeepuddn 4 years ago
Incorrect. The consensus of scientific research BY PHYSICISTS points out how this has all happened before without human-beings and that the greatest amount of CO2 comes from our oceans. Climatologist is an invented term for "Weather Man".

Er, do you even know what a physicists is?

I dont like global warming and i dont want to believe it, but its pretty real as far as i think. But yeah im not scared of it, im in canada and on highland.
and yesh al gore is an alarmist. does he support nuclear power? as it stands its the cleanest most reliable energy source out there

I'll just comment on the first detail in this poorly reasoned video: If the ice isn't in your drink, but the glass is already full, if you melt some ice cubes and pour them into the drink, it will overflow. That's Greenland, the glaciers, etc. Simple thinking isn't always right.

Where are the credible global warming policy leaders who actually believe so sincerely in AGW that they swear off fossil fuels?
ExtraGarlicNow 4 years ago
Thats the problem here!! What else are they supposed to do. Make their own solar powered cars? Listen up, there are somethings that the people can't do, it takes a government to accomplish.
Watch "Who killed the electric car". I'd love to buy one, they just don't exist anymore thanks to human greed and hubris.
heavydny86 4 years ago
Agreed.

I like this guy. He seems reasonable.
The environment is not the economy. It's nature, and so far humans have managed to understand some basic laws about it. Study physics why don't you?
Has industrialization made life better for most of us? yes. Does it cause problems? A lot.
What do we do? Get rid of industrialization? Abandon science? Try and go live in pure nature?
You're not convincing me of anything with your arguments.
honda1386 4 years ago
The environment is made up of every resource we have. We take those resources and turn them into everything you see in the modern world. No more resources no more shit i.e. no clean water = no life on earth. There are ways to live more symbiotic with nature without abandoning science.
NoOysters 4 years ago
Corporations can be held accountable for the pollution they create. Parts of China have banned plastic packaging. Maybe some products shouldn't be made at all, but that doesn't mean we go back to being cavemen. We are part of nature not against it. We are essentially spending rivers to buy bottled water, It costs nature to buy nikes. The environment is the economy!

NEWS!!!!! Google this: "Head of NASA downplays global warming". The NASA chief says it's "rather arrogant" for people to take the position that today's climate is the optimal one.
No doubt the green movement and the libs will try and sling mud against this scientist for his opposition.
netcisco 4 years ago
Yes, do that. Then read the second half of the article where James Hansen, Bart Gordon and Jack Marburger all put in their two pennies.
prittstick321 4 years ago

NoOysters 4 years ago
Ohh this ones actually about this video... you say "its not us who's doing this, it's the corporations", exactly what I'm saying, however we are supporting these corporations with our dollars one way or another. The environment is the economy and corporations are destroying the earths resources!
NoOysters 4 years ago
Another view that is overlooked is the fact that the middle east, possibly the most diplomatically unstable regions on the planet, holds a huge percent of the worlds oil. Meaning if there was an all out war in the future, every modern country apart from brazil would face serious economic turmoil. Why do think people are so afraid of Iran with nukes.
This alone should make people wan't to change but they're too pissed off about Al gore winning an oscar to sort out the pros and cons.

"The American people will never knowingly adopt Socialism. But under the name of "liberalism" they will adopt every fragment of the Socialist program, until one day America will be a Socialist nation without knowing how it happened." Norman Thomas ( a tried and true liberal socialist) But then, what the hell did he know, compared to you?
yird1 4 years ago
What exactly is socialized in America? Public school? Every mother fucking thing is privatized! The people own nothing and are slaves to monstrous corporations who's power trumps our governments. I would rather have my tax dollars go to programs that benefit society rather than KBR stock holders. Corporate fascism has replaced the free market putting all the power in the hands of the few. There are many countries with socialized medicine, free college, etc.
NoOysters 4 years ago
that are far from communist police states. Sure they pay a little more income tax. Most of us pay $4,220.00 plus 25% of the amount over 30,650, and what are we buying? A war to make oil companies, military contractors and their stock holders extremely wealthy.
NoOysters 4 years ago
most liberals don't want communism.
NoOysters 4 years ago
Such bitterness must be rooted in some form of imagined perscution. Mental slavery you may suffer, but neither you nor I are slaves. You have the will if not the inititive to improve your lot. You rant about the "wealthy" stock holders. I have stocks and bonds and am far from wealthy. It looks like you have been seduced by the negative thought police. Lighten up amigo and try to enjoy life. I preached to my children to always try and turn a disadvantage into an adantage if possible.
yird1 4 years ago
Privatization beats the hell out of nationaization. Look what's happening in Venezula as we speak. As for "socialized medicine, free college etc.", why should I, who have worked damn hard, saved, invested, and often denied myself over the years, have to subsidize assholes who piss there money away on frivolous crap and complain about how they can't get ahead for every imagined reason other than their own stupidity.
yird1 4 years ago
You seem Like a reasonably intelligent fellow. Use that intelligence to improve your own situtaion. The world and it's fruitful cornucopia of bullshit problems will be here long after they shovel dirt in your face.
yird1 4 years ago

It would be easier to convince myself that my friends are dieing protecting us from terrorists and not securing oil fields to perpetuate an unsustainable

consumerist economy. Maybe I should vote for bush because were fucked anyway.

Put the blame where it lay.
yird1 4 years ago
Obfuscated, sorry about that. I am no fan of big corp. But what would we have without them? American Idol, sports and having a good time in general seem to take presidence of what our polititians are doing to us, Until attitudes change, nothing else will.

NoOysters 4 years ago
Oil production is being intentionally slowed to jack up the price under the cover if the war effort. You should really care about the environment more. We use natural resources in production of everything. The environment is the economy
