A sensational country-rock hit by the superb Brenda Lee. "Little Miss Dynamite" turned out some of the sassiest rock 'n roll numbers and heart-wrenching ballads of the 50s and 60s. From a very early age her lyrical interpretations and vocal stylings were almost preternaturally exquisite. An immensely talented singer, Brenda Lee has amassed a fantastic catalog of recordings of which this one is a gem.
This is Brenda's re-recording of her 1969 hit. This version was recorded in 1996 for an album ob her own label which was produced by her long time producer Owen Bradley and several of the musicians found on many of her early recordings. This is the version sold at her concerts and the whole album was excellent especially considering the amount of time between these and the original recordings.

An evergreen song by an evergreen singer. One of the first singers I saw live at the National Theatre in Singapore and if I recall, she was given a standing ovation at the end of the song. Very nostalgic.
Wow, what a song! What lyrics and emotion! This and Big four poster bed are her best (for different reasons... the latter brings back such fond memories!)
saw brenda in concert at wolverhampton in the early 90s she was absolutely great she sang the best version ive ever heard of WIND BENEATH MY WINGS. HER VOICE HAS LOST NONE OF ITS POWER.
only a handful of people can take any song and squeeze every once of emotion out of it........patsy cline and brenda lee are right up there at the top.......brenda lee has never gotten the credit she deserves.......she is a bonafide legend but she is barely mentioned anymore....it is a travesty. kind of like the way roy orbison was forgotten for so many years. at least the world re-discovered him a few years before he died. it is way past time for brenda lee to get her rightful place in history
childhood memories of sitting in my Dads car waiting for him to come out of the travern ! just me and Brenda - he is gone now but lord those were the days
no one will ever fill Brenda's shoes, shes one lovely lady, with the best ever voice in music, I am an ardent fan from Britain and she has always been my favourite female vocalist and always will be, Rock on Brenda Lee forever!!!!!!
I totally agree. Brenda is a lovely lady, with a bubbly personality and warm heart. I recently saw her in concert and had the pleasure of talking with her. A real powerhouse on stage!
Hi wow you lucky guy seeing her in concert, was that in the states? I saw her for the first time back in the 90s,a ticket bought by my brother as a birthday gift here in england, and it was my best ever prezzie, she was awesome and I hardly slept thinking I had actually seen her in person.
Thank you for your kind comment. Yes, I saw Brenda on September 20, 2009, in Frederick, Maryland at their county fair. Prior to her appearance there, I had written a letter to her management company asking if I could meet with Brenda. Two weeks later, Brenda herself called me and we talked a few minutes. At the fair, I was escorted backstage and talked with Brenda again, had my photo taken with her. I'll remember that evening forever!
Hi thanks so much for replying to me,since you are like me and a big fan of brenda, can I ask you,do you know if she has any of her 70s albums on cd? I have lots of her music, but am missing LA SESSIONS, SINCERLEY, and the 80s album called FEELS SO RIGHT,I have looked everywhere in england and no luck so far, don't know if they are out on cd,any info would be great thanks, Diane
First heard this when I was a young Marine in the 60s and related it to a 'Mary One Time', she broke a young Marine's heart and many others I'm sure...ah, but Vietnam took away more than lives, it took souls, similar to Jim Reeves' 'Distant Drums'...as Marty Robbins wrote, "Some Memories Won't Die"...
I remember this song from when i was about 5. I didn't know who sang it. I saw it sung on Ed Sullivan by someone else, she had long black hair and a very deep voice.
I never forgot this song, so glad I found it here. ty.
Fantastic singer a beautiful lady with an outstanding voice which has been a credit to her for years brilliant
