Inception takes the nature of what an idea is and challenges the audience to put meaning to it. If you do, then you've not only participated but also fallen for the trap. INCEPTION. That's why you can't call Inception brilliant or shit. This might not be my opinion. Get it? Huh? Do you get it?
The joke is that Nolan builds complicated, dramatic creations which at the end, some people pretend they understood to seem clever.
Take Inception, very confusing and incredibly complicated, yet people walked out the cinemas saying "yeah, I see what he was going for with that", when they didn't.
"If you didn't like Inception, you probably didn't get it" is the joke here.
@93AlexLewis Yeah, except they really aren't THAT complicated. Or at least beyond understanding. Of course there are particular elements to some of his films that he keeps to himself, so if anyone thinks they know those, they're talking out of their ass. I mean - I *guess* there was a lot of people who didn't 'get' Inception, but if you take everything in the movie at face value it's logical enough. It's got a lot of moving parts but it doesn't take a lot of analysis.
@93AlexLewis I have to say that Inception is one of his least confusing movies. In fact it´s not complicated and comfusing at all. Don´t get me wrong, it´s awesome movie, but people think it´s confusing when it´s not. You should see Memento unless you have already seen it.
Come on man, this isn't a parody or a spoof. Bascially you're saying that Nolan tries to complicate things. Unecessarily complicating something and actuallu being able to convey a complex story are two different things. Nolan's movies have complex ideas that are presented in a relate-able and understandable manner. Plus the mn has tiny humerous parts srpinkled throughout his films that word VERY WELL. Look up his speech at DGA or Spike scream awards his jokes are actually funny
@RoboMoogle The audeince that I saw it in the theatre with was laughing. And guess what? That officer was a passenger and he was panicking because a masked gordon was driving the van holding harvey dent. Plus TDK was funnier than most other movies because it used character based humour. It's blend of a scary and funny joker was seamless and even noted by many other critics. Any other examples of how "unfunny" Christopher Nolan is?
1) Yeah, I got that part. Not too complicated. I know why the driver was freaking out, just wasn't funny. Same type of humor as in Begins "It's a large black... tank" Great, GREAT action scenes that didn't need little quips.
Batman's chasing the joker on bike, it's dramatic, then we see two kids, in a car, fake shooting. Suddenly, an explosion and they appropriately "woah!"
Little things that aren't great but not offensive. Only offensive joke? "Not wearing hockey pads".
@RoboMoogle Ok well why was the audience cracking up at that. It was a great dramatic scene but if there is one guy who can make humour work in dramatic scenes without fucking the scene up, that would be nOlan. Actually try and find a single review that criticized the humour of the two films at all. Those jokes worked well. So honestly i think it may just be a matter of taste or something peprsonal for you
@regulator619 - I think you honestly give to much creedance to Nolan. He's a damn fine film-maker, but for the love of god, man, look at what you're writing. The only filmaker that can make humor work in a dramatic scene? What about Paul Thomas Anderson?!
@RoboMoogle Look man Im just being honest without bias. And when did I say that PT Anderson can't do it. Also what have I said so far that is sooo far fetched it can only come from fanboyism?
This is a classic example of retardation. This was brutal to watch. You are not funny nor are you talented. Please for all of our sake do not post anymore videos. this was painfully unfunny and you should be ashamed of yourselves.
"What the fuck!!? I hate you fucking hacks trying to show of your supposed creativity. You are not talented nor are U creative. Fuck off from youtube forever."
"This is nauseating that people would subject themselves to this shit. Belly dancers are fucking jokes and that form of stripping should not be considered an art. I pity anyone who engages in this shit. What a shitty world we live in. "
Yeah, how about YOU fuck off from YouTube forever?

You know you're almost like chris nolan in all but one way. His jokes ACTUALLY MAKE PEOPLE LAUGH!!!

@regulator619 Has Christopher Nolan ever made a joke? Usually his jokes tend to be either funny or cringe inducing, amidst an otherwise awesome film.
Take for instance "That's not good.... okay that's NOT good" in TDK. Hysterical.
