  • Apologetic crap. It's like retelling a story to a friend, you never capture the feelings again? How badly did they remember what they were told that slavery, genocide and rape got put into the bible??

  • "Man made God in his own image, thats why there are so many Gods" - Brilliant Quote from Hitchens as usual. Funny to think, Hitchens now knows if there is an afterlife! Wherever he may be!

  • Youtube: The place where religion comes to die.

  • ACTUALLY, NEITHER OF THESE TEIZWOPS BELIEVE IN GOD.

  • Her laugh is annoying as fuck.

  • So uh, why is there still religion? Even a rabbi and a reverend admitted the bible is bullshit.

  • hehe, rabbi says the bible is after all an imperfect interpretation of god's revelation. Again, the _bible_ is an imperfect work of man. Would he say the same about torah? and say it in Israel?

  • I believe the nig...um the Rev is deep down not convinced of his own faith. Srsly, he strikes me as a showman surfing for attention and other social advantages, while playing those cards that historically guarantee prime-time for your life. Only that, recently, these cards are becoming riskier, because of all this unfortunate scientific progress that's questioning everything and keeps asking for proofs.

Oh science, such naughty kid! Thou shall be put to a corner and forced to read the bible.

  • "The Israelites came to Mt Sinai and met God", so states the Rabbi. But whose "god" did they meet? Every civilization has "met" their own "god" -- or rather created him/them based on the social and climactic conditions of their environment.

  • Wow, two religious men admitting the bible is flawed, and from men. You won't hear that around here. Here, the bible is the perfect word of god. This is why Springfield Missouri is called the buckle on the bible belt. I'm just the annoying fly that is buzzing around I guess.

  • Rabbi cuntybollox don't like what reverend cuntybollox thinks so he has the audacity to tell him what to think.... when are these dipshits gonna realise that religion is bullshit and they are perpetuating it...... evangalists of the world unite....then jump off

  • anyone got a favourite HITCHSLAP video? reply me

  • @johnykoop The Todd Friel interview is epic.

  • Hey where are those Muslims gone here?

  • lol, so what the rev is saying is that our interpretation is flawed? what a crock of BS. If god is all powerful and all knowing and whatnot, why didn't he just send us down a perfect and flawless version of his way for us to live? unambiguous and crystal clear instructions on how to follow our lives? he's all powerful, right? if he can make the earth in 6 days, then why cant he write a fucking instruction manual?

    ....lol

  • @Buhzie15 Why would you want an instruction manual from a megalomaniacal bully?

  • @Buhzie15 no flawless version of life because of the devil we are tested and we do have a instruction manual its called the bible hence it being known as the book of life .. i dont get what you mean by unambiguous and crystal clear instructions but one of the bibles greatest teaching is to love thy neighbor as thy self and if everyone treated each other as they would like to be treated the world would be a better place im sure you can agree with me on that .

  • @brokeassandhungry85 Yes, you should avoud satanic evil and follow your 'instruction manual' of the Bible. And from that instruction manual, we should persecute unbelievers, treat women as inferior and reinstitute slavery. All of which are expressly commanded or condioned in the New testament.

And dont get me started on the moral 'instruction manual' of the OLD testament. Then we will every fucking thing and their dog, rape their women dance on their graves and call ourselves holy

  • @CuiusRegio what are you on? it dont say to persecute none believers it says have love for the alien which is people without god ,, and love thy neighbour as thy self whats wrong in that? .. nothing! you obviously reading not the same bible as i ... one more point your message dont make sense you missed words out and you just dont have a clue .. only god is holy im a begger of the lord im more humble than you will ever be

  • @brokeassandhungry85 Every other holy book has that "overall message" too, so why aren't you hindu or muslim?

  • @JohanTW who said im christian? i read all the holy books dont be so rude ive expressed my opinion u dont like its your choice

  • @brokeassandhungry85 Sorry, didn't mean to be rude :)

  • The good thing about this debate was that its the first time ive seen religious/non religious peeps sit down and thoughtfully debate, sometimes heatedly. Usually it breaks down into ethnic violence and scapegoating.

  • one of the most open discussions on the topic ive seen :)

  • Please do not say weed. No one hallucinates from weed.

  • @iliveon speak for yourself....MAAAAAAAAANNN!!!!

  • @dkthg lmao

  • Rest in Peace Rev Gomes.

  • get well hitch

  • Christopher Hitchens is a scumbag

  • @bret66g Go away troll

  • not that the other guys are stupid(just blinded with their beliefs) but Chris is so fuckin brilliant. its great when he goes and is thinking of things to easily counter and refute wat the opposing are saying. genious

  • So by his own admission, the rabbi implicitly says god intentionally fucks us around by making rules and tenets that will INEVITABLY get distorted , perverted, rewritten, etc. , all within his awareness and ability to do something about it. Yet, its part of a plan too? Sounds like human planning to me..call me crazy

  • @righteousfury1 Your not crazy. All the scriptures of all the religions are 100% facepalm material from beginning to end.

  • I wish i could express my thoughts like the rabbi. The little words he spoke had felt very personal to me. Thank you sir!

  • 1:02 to the end is just white noise.

  • mount sinai doesn't exist and never did.

  • Well now we know what became of Carlton from The Fresh Prince" - he became Rev. Gomes.

  • Ok, CH is eloquent in speech, but his arguements loses power because they revolve around arrogant insults which, to me are not well thought out. So according to him there is no God because there are too many religions, which is not proof that God does not exsist. the arguements are flawed, because it all boils down to experiences and choices. I am yet to hear a persuasive enough reason for God's exsistance or non- exsistance. All debates on the subject seem to based on how best I can insult u

  • @junior2404, the point is that there is no debate. In order for an assertion to rise to the level of 'debate,' there must be empirical evidence to support the position. There isn't any, and that means no debate.

  • Hitchens is comical. I love watching him speak. I don't agree with his views to a tee, and tbh, I hardly agree with his views overall. But I still love the man and I love watching his work because it makes me feel good. Btw, I am a believer in science and I am a believer in a higher power, so no discrimination please :P

  • @youngs1ncere No discrimination, only a observation that a believer of science could only believe in a higher power so far as there is either evidence for it or no evidence otherwise. I'd claim that for any specific higher power there is evidence against, in so far as there are limitless specific higher powers and no distinction between them, evidentially speaking.

My point is that the two beliefs are either incompatible or that the second is moot. Why believe unspecifically in a higher power?

  • the jewish muslim and christian philosophy is incompatible with truth

so i dont know why the reverand claims only he can get there

  • 3.10 the israelites went to sinai and "met" god

how the fk can 600,000 people simultaneously experience this god character bellowing from a mounain when conciousness is from WITHIN - and btw this god said if you dont cut your baby i will cut him off from me- what kind of god are we talking about?

jerusalem is the navel of the land mass of the world - the point where the criss cross meets - its a power spot - nothing holy about it

    freemasonry=sacred geometry, geo=world, metry=measurement

  • I love how the Rabbi hints that the Bible is imperfect because humans don't know how to properly communicate the real experience. Religious people always seem to have an excuse for everything!

  • Rev. Gnomes is well spoken for a reason, he is the preacher and theologian at the Harvard Divinity School. He is a very intelligent man and you can see that Hitchens does respect him even if he disagree's with his stance.

I also have much respect for Rev. Gnomes and even more so when he came out in the early 1990's, I also don't agree with his stance on God, but if more Christians were like him it would much easier to have civil discourse.

  • Sinai doesn't even fucking exist. This old Rabbi is not as wise as he should be!

  • From the distance the man in the middle looks like Dave from Wendy's

  • In this video is a debate between man's opinions without God's word.Did you notice?

  • This turned to a discussion now that Hitchens' insults are out of the picture. Respect has been restored to the debate. Hitchens wants to tear down others, whereas he could provide insight with no intention of insult. He COULD do that, but he chooses to express hatred instead. It has nothing to do with atheism, just Hitchens' own blackened soul. And that's why people should reconsider the hatred of Christopher Hitchens as something worthy to believe in. Believe in atheism instead.

  • 3:05-"they tried to write it down and what become the bible; and it is a imperfect, flawed, incomplete, record of what I think was a transcendent" says the Rabbi. Now the atheist goes "shit, how am I going to stump someone who admits of being flawed" LOL

  • @LampPlaceThing That's what Hitchens refuses to see: that no religious person has ever claimed to be perfect because of their stated religion. That's why Hitchens hates people so much, because he thinks they think they're perfect.

  • We love you Hitchens.

  • Religious pseudo-intellectualism: When you like to talk so long yet say so little.

  • @Phelan666 Everyone is kind of forced into believing in God. Life is too hard to not have imaginary friends. You're going to tell me that you're different just because you claim to be a "non-believer". I don't buy it. You have some sort of idea of God floating around in your head, you just don't want to admit it because you think it'll make you look weak. It's alright, we're all weak, we all need help from the external.

  • @tpstrat14 Oh, so you have the ability to read people's minds and even to force you own opinions into their heads? That is an impressive talent.

Can you also tell me what the next lotto numbers are going to be?

  • @tpstrat14 I would disagree that people are forced into believing in a god. I was raised in a church environment then decided to leave it because of a lack of belief that came from myself and the studying of the bible. I'ts more righteous to say that life is hard just because it is by natural causes. It makes more sense than saying life is too hard because I was born into sin because I know I am an empathetic person and people more sefless than I are suffering much more than I am.

  • @Sylosis333 That statement shows great atheist dignity. Thank you.

I don't think it makes a difference if God exists. We still have responsibility to each other, whether God exists or not. That much you can be sure of. That much takes no faith to believe. Without faith, we can know that our ancestors, now deceased, have made a lasting impact on the hearts of the living, for good or bad. Maybe that's what heaven is: knowing that you're trying to make a difference for good in this life.

  • @tpstrat14 lolol dont tell people what they think just because you are afraid of the dark and no one forces you into believing anything . the problem for you is your lack of courage and the fear that you are trying to overcome by believing in the supernatural . but you are right about having an idea of god rattling around in my head just as i have an idea of the loch ness monster and unicorns in my head but i dont pray to them or if i did i would find it just as pointless .

  • @tpstrat14 So what you're saying, essentially, is that belief in god is a result of being unable to cope with reality?

  • @TheWorstWarlock A belief in God is a result of finding reality to be something to be celebrated, rather than feared.

  • Comment removed

  • @TheWorstWarlock I don't cope with life. I live instead. That's what a belief in God is

  • they should all look up gnosticism. Its the ultimate heresy

  • Gomes - his voice and mannerisms - are like a cartoon of a pompous, pseudo intellectual.

  • religion is for deluded people who have no logic or reason....sheep, so to speak.

  • Religious people are atheists in relation to HUNDREDS of different Gods, they just don't realize it. They probably don't believe in these Gods because it's silly and obviosuly made-up, right? Well that's why they shouldn't believe in Jesus/Buddha whatever also, because it's the same fucking thing. No one would dare to say "i believe in Zeus" because of the enormous shame, but why shouldn't Abrahamitic/Asian religions be viewed the same way? Why is the Abrahamitic God less ridiculous?

  • "when human beings try to write it down and institutionalize it" THEN WHY DOESN'T GOD COMMUNICATE DIRECTLY AND CONTINUALLY WITH US?. fuck it's madening to see educated adults talk about imaginary things like this as if it's real.

  • No get is right Christopher, God made us in HIS image (Genesis 1:27). We are jacked up because we are innately wicked and it was caused by the initial disobedience against God in the Garden of Eden by Adam and Eve not Adam and Steve.

  • @psalm91forgee Your music sounds good, but you're not listening when Christopher speaks, you're just reverting to the myths and the dogmas that he has debunked so completely. Give him a fair hearing.

  • @psalm91forgee

If God made us in its image then is it a male or a female?

  • @badger5079 If god made us in his own image he is far from perfect. Human beings have blind spots, poor senses of smell and hearing and many more imperfections.

  • The word "atheism" has no content, it's like calling someone a non-astrologer, we don't call people non-astrologers, an atheist is someone who rejects dogma.

  • Hitch will winn this battle. He is a hero!!!

  • If anyone says he talks to god, trust me, he´s a fucking loon. If he says god talks back, RUN.

  • I have always wondered.....If god is/was so almighty and powerful..why did he have to rest on the 7th day?

  • @5873495 cos he was a real lazy fucker

  • well if people are incapable of recording the experience properly then why do it in the first place? I am assuming that god knew that his believers would not be able to reproduce it accurately so why did he bother revealing if it was gonna get fucked up in translation?

  • In my experience religious people share some common attributes:

    1) They were brainwashed as a child

    2) They experienced a traumatic life event and decided to seek solice in God

    3) Individuals who just can't handle the fact that we have the cognitive capacity to ask pertinent questions but LACK the ability to explain these things. Religion and God, gives people 'answers' to questions we cannot hope to ever answer. In other words, people find comfort in wish thinking.

    End of Story...

  • @DIGITALSCREAMS i think it is not your "experience" with religious people that made you described them as such. It is more on how you look at them from a distance with your anti-theistic binoculars.

  • @stingbeer

I have a friend who's a deep christian - the observations i made were made from what I know of him.

Personally, I think religion does a diservice to mankind. I take it your christian?

  • @DIGITALSCREAMS what do you mean by "deep christian"? If you based your observations from one friend who is a "deep christian" and then you generalized that all christians are like him/her. I think logical mind cannot accept it, right?

  • Kill your God, do the world a favour

  • @yatter1 which god?

  • @stingbeer any and all of them

  • Comment removed

  • @yatter1 That would be problematic. Anthropology of religion may help you understand the nuances of different religious traditions across cultural groups. Your "any and all" reminds me of an interesting conclusion: "we are all atheists." In one way or another, we don't believe in a god as they say. A Christian who does not believe in Zeus must be an atheist. lols

  • The last point made by the Rabbi is hilarious considering it's been proven that nothing happened at Sinai.

  • It seems to me that these "miracles of old" were probably something less than miraculous and have just been embellished and exaggerated into something they weren't. Eventually they made it into the Bible but in reality are nothing more than parables.

Where are all these miraculous events today? Has God fucked off??? Was he ever there???

  • Lets be honest, religion has ultimately divided us into different groups and led millions of people to blindly follow a book of words they have no actual proof such a God exists. Preying to a "God" isnt going to do a thing on this physical level. Religion is just a part of the total human manipulation. Religion basically does nothing, it may have some good in the form of bringing people together, but it really makes no difference to what actually is on this planet., a sick ignorant society

  • You really would have to be a complete fucking idiot, to actually think, that the creator of the Universe came down to our planet, and wrote the bible just for us. I mean you really just have to use some common sense here for a moment and just ask yourself, why would the creator of the Universe write a book as fucking stupid as the bible?

  • @MarvelsofaLifetime Watch this hilarious bit from NonStampCollector and then ask yourself how this could be the word of God. Not coming at you MarvelsofaLifetime but it's on topic for your comment.

    /watch?v=RB3g6mXLEKk&playnext_from=TL&videos=VBi3UevDCag&feature=sub

  • No, Rev, Gomes, scripture is not ancient man's attempt top grasp the divine but rather his attempt to invent the divine. And, Rabbi Kushner, nothing happened at Sinai. We now know beyond a reasonable doubt the The Exodus never happened.

  • Yes, but let's not forget...the Bible is God's WORD! To say it is imperfect automatically shines the light and shows God is imperfect.

  • so it means roman catholic and other religions is only a joke so if that's true what's the importance for attending mass or church to hear the God's word or worshipping Jesus / God and continuing our faith and believes about them?

  • google Doe's Account, mindblowing.

  • So Mr Gomes, let me get this straight... the bible is NOT the word of god? what babble! What are you using then to understand god? On the one hand they are... but the other they are not, well that has cleared that up, i can go to sleep in peace :P

  • Is it a reasonable statement to say that the abrahamic religions will never agree, therefore, none of them will provide a solution, but instead provide a speedy path to the end of civilization. Is it a wonder why we look at you ignoramuces with contempt.

  • Well, the rabbi was right about one thing: the bible is an incomplete flawed record. I assume the transcendent experience was weed.

  • @ytv122 Couldn't be weed. The rabbi was able to actually walk on stage by himself and speak clearly.

  • @ytv122

The word "christ" means "the anointed one."

To be anointed means to have oils poured over your body.

The anointing oils used were commonly known to contain cannabis oils.

S you are probably 100% correct.

    ;)

  • @ytv122 it was flawed yet we still have to follow it.... mmmmmk. no thanks :P

  • Question with boldness even the existence of a god; because, if there be one, he must more approve the homage of reason, than that of blindfolded fear.

-Thomas Jefferson, writer of the American Constitution, and The Thrid President of the United States of America.

  • lol I love how calm and comfortable the religious men are, and how sweaty and nervous the athiest that won't make eye contact is. I think that says alot in itself.

  • @lonelygnome1 Its not sweat, its pure blue vodka.

  • God and Empirical Logic.

    Matter or God?

    Take your choice!

Some brainless atheists regard matter as independent and imagine that it has itself gained this freedom and elaborated the laws that rule over it.

But how can they believe that hydrogen and oxygen, electrons and protons, should first produce themselves, then be the source for all other beings, and finally decree the laws that regulate themselves and the rest of the material world?

    Pseudo-Scientific Demagoguery!

  • This is an argument from incredulity, this argument worked 1000 years ago when we thought our common sense could give us truthful answers (as they usually did.) We have no moved into areas of quantum physics and cosmology where common sense concepts like "everything is caused by something else" and "something cannot come from nothing" are completely worthless.

  • God and Empirical Logic.

Materialism looks at the world with one eye *closed* and, as a result, is unable to answer numerous questions!

Materialism imagines that lowly objects are the source for the emergence of higher objects without troubling to ascertain whether the higher, in fact, exists at the level of the lower. If lowly matter is unable even at the highest stage of its development, namely thought and reflection— ....

  • either to create itself or to violate any of the laws that rule over it, it follows ineluctably that it is unable to create other beings and the laws regulating them. How, then, can it be believed that lowly matter should engage in the creation and origination of higher beings or have the power to bestow existence on lofty phenomena?

  • @1tabligh

You clearly didnt read my post, or didnt fully understand it. The ideas behind Quantum mechanics are that things do spontaniously appear. Things do randomly change states for no apparent reason, or quantum coupling, where particles seem to mirror each other for no apparent reason other than "thats just the way it happens." Ignoring this to read the assertations of ignorant illiterate tribes who didnt know the earth was round seems moronic in the extreme.

  • Should the scientist, who is aware of the natural causes and of the factors determining each step of creation towards perfection, of mankind's evolution, of the minute accuracy and exactitude that rules every change in the nature that surrounds us, come to believe that these wondrous laws and amazing interactions have somehow fortuitously emerged out of mindless matter?

  • Firstly, i would profoundly disagree with mankind being perfect, and as you have failed to point out, evolution quite happily explains why complicated primates such as ourselves can come from single cells and if you arent sure how that happens google it. On the point of physical laws we have created those laws, with the langauge of mathematics. Gravity has no more created some laws for itself than circles have created 2pi*r and pi*r^2 so they can draw themselves.

  • If you are simply going to assert that if these laws were different, then the universe wouldnt be as it is, is an interesting point, but no more, and certainly not a point in any deity's favour. As ive already pointed out, it could be that these laws arent free to vary at all, we certainly havent seen any evidence that the can, except for people taking planks constant and saying if it was (h-10) we wouldnt be here and the universe wouldnt exsist.

  • Is it logical to say that belief in God is peculiar to those who know nothing about man's composition and creation, and that, by contrast, a scientist who is aware of the natural laws and factors responsible for man's growth and development, who knows that law and precise calculation preside over all stages of man's existence, is bound to believe that matter, lacking all perception and consciousness, is the source of the wondrous laws of nature?

  • I will say it again, these laws are NOT prescribed by anyone. They are simply descriptions of how matter behaves. To use an analogy, is an apple still an apple if no one ever defines what an apple is?

  • Do scientific discoveries and knowledge cause such a scientist to conclude that matter, *** unknowing and unperceiving ***, is his creator and that of all beings?

  • Yes, it does, as hitchens points out in his debates, we live in a universe that didnt go out of its way to form us, doesnt know we are here, and wouldnt bat an eyelid if we were to disappear.

  • Is it at all feasible to regard all the precise geometry, functioning and movement of the universe as the outcome of matter in its ignorance?

  • Yes, it is.

  • How could it be believed that matter should itself be the origin of millions of attributes and characteristics and thus be the equivalent of the purposeful, wise and all-knowing Creator?

How can it be supposed that belief in the existence of God is the acceptance of contradiction, whereas belief in the uncaused nature of an effect such as matter is not contradictory?

  • Comment removed

  • God and Empirical Logic.

One of the most destructive and misleading factors in thoughts concerning God is to restrict one's thought to the "logic" of the empirical sciences and to *fail* to recognize the *limits* and boundaries of that "logic".

Is that which is necessary in essence and which is considered the first source of existence matter itself or something else beyond the limits of matter?

  • See the full Forum on The Forum Channel.

  • i have no problem with religious people such as the rev. and rabbi in this video, its when people are all in your face about their religion and judge you because your not part of it, and im afraid athiests are guilty of that too.

  • The black gentleman is very eloquent and has a wonderful way of speaking but his point is rhetoric.

  • @darkcanuck I was thinking the same thing, but not in so many words.

  • @darkcanuck his point is.........there is no point, he´s talking utter crap

  • @ChristFavorsME Yes, because everyone knows that gay people and black people can never be as truly Christian as a white heterosexual!

  • @darkcanuck i think he's a pompous stick-in-the-mud

  • If it is a flawed translation, then stop preaching it. Keep it the hell out of societies.

  • @MzHellinahandbasket < Lol, they could not keep up with the God's communication- no shorthand, no tape recorders.

Funny, almighty God never gave any feedback on these holy books; could have helped to correct the wrong verses. Has God abandoned these religions ? So Islam came with neat trick : "perfect and final prophet ! with new book : Koran" Guess what they want you to live in 7th century !

There are other faiths out there who have different approach which seem more natural and easy going.

  • @darkcanuck hes an arrogant queen.

  • @darkcanuck hes an arrogant queen. its funny watching these religious men manipulate the bible stories to come to a compromise or fit into a topic!

  • @darkcanuck blacky be speaking lik's he knows he's go'ts

  • @darkcanuck Yeah. I kind of wish I knew him but it doesn't change how weak his point is.

  • I have to admit the sentiment that oppositions preachers express:

That it does feel good to be in the company of so many like mainded ant-theists.

  • hahaha! hitch is great. and the irony that the most religious people actually prove through their delusions that we are close relatives of chimps.

  • @illbetilbake LOL x10 ironic indeed

  • @illbetilbake We're also close relitives to Pigs, and k-9's. Perhaps we evolved from them?

  • @RageAgainstNWO

No, just as we didn't evolve from monkeys/chimps, but rather from the same ancestor.

  • @stemcgolf go watch so slop for the masses then idiot.

  • I think there is a good rebutal in two lines from the movie "man from earth". - He could not make the bible right the first try? * No because we are imperfect. - He could not make us perfect in the first try? * (no answer).

  • @DemokritosAbdera thats the perfect way to sum it up.

  • Once again we have some primates telling us what the supernatural wants for all primates. Saints seers, holy people? Which ones?

  • The problem is the English language and the barrier it creates between people. It is a very complicated matter to talk about because of the way social circles define the words and the way they're actually meant to be defined are different. All people won't fit into the same little boxes. This is when I discuss religion, I always break it down to two topics. 1. Theism 2. God

    Two totally different things.

  • I have this same debate documentary at home and I have always thought the moderator was biased and intentionally interrupts Hitchens. There are many instances of this behavior but here, in this specific video, she says "Professor Gold, is he obviously toying with your premise ? Hahahahhahahah".

In my opinion, she should shut up and be a moderator and quick provoking or showing favoritism to one side of the debate and stop interrupting Hitchens just because he's provocative.

  • You are full of shit...You do not have this "debate documentary" at home. Apart from the live event, the only public presentation of this is the clips on youtube.

You can't even be bothered to read the description which pretty plainly states that Mr. Hitchens' premise is being toyed with by Professor Peter Gomes.

Another youtube dirt bag with too much time on their hands sitting in the dark making commentary while never adding anything worth while.

  • I like how you open up with a personal attack. Shows your age. You nailed that down, didn't you? Shows I've done something right.

You can get a few Connecticut Forum debates on torrent sites. This is one I have seen the entire thing. I think I may even have it home.

You're an idiot. The description of this video says NOTHING like that. It is obvious that woman is biased.

Not adding anything? This is a comment board. Nothing else. I dont see you adding anything but hostility. Youre so childish

  • Me thinks he doth protest too much...

Please enlighten me as to where you downloaded it. I suspect you can't. if not that, then tell me, what is the first question of the second half?

I was referring to your ignorance at the Professor Gomes' name. It is not Professor Gold. He was killed by James Bond.

If you feel compelled to comment on a video, why don't you do it based on your own thoughts and ideas rather than making things up.

  • 1. No one cares what you think.

    2. Please enlighten you? I'm not your mommy.

    3. Like I said, I have it at home. Unfortunately, I am not at home. It is possible that I don't have this one and I am not 100% certain but I THINK I do. Could be a mistake on my part. Big deal?

    4. You were referring? Point is you were wrong. She made the comment about Hitchens to Gomes who I thought she said "Gold". Another misunderstanding.

Your only intention here is to personally attack me. Therefore, I ignore you

  • That's what happens when you're childish. You immediately "lose" all credibility.

  • If science could offer utopia, the sheep would drop religion like a hot skillet

  • ... If the people during biblical times were presented with what science has brought us to this day, they would probably think it akin to Utopia.

Unfortunately, religion is dragged into modern times along with this raised bar of "utopia".

  • One mans utopia is another mans dystopia - If you mean utopia is what is described as paradise in The Bible, it sounds alot like hell to me.

  • so basically what these religious guys are expressing is that within 150 years their religions have gone from meaning the literal truth of exisistence to subjective story telling?

  • No, he means its like The Matrix. No one can be told what the Matrix is, they have to see it for themselves...

Like, those people could try to explain God, but there human nature would ultimately make it flawed. So in a more modern way it explains why, eg, The Bible isnt accurate or 100% correct, but its the closest one has to the Christian God.

Basically a modern way of thinking to explain the obvious science errors in religions old texts. Eg Adam and Eve story.

Few C sees it as fact anymore.

  • If god exists, then why did he make christopher hitchens an atheist?

  • Htichens chose it.
