Great stuff, I love it, Jimmy Lee was a cousin of mine, though I met him only once. His grandpa was Mack Hammonds of Maud Texas :) Music runs in the family.
This is my Uncle Jimmy and Uncle Lynnie. They had more talent than they knew what to do with. And for the record, these guys started out on the Louisiana Hayride with Elvis. Elvis was like a brother to them. They were always singing, playing, and writing songs.
This isn't Jimmy & Johnny, but Jimmy Fautheree (electric guitar) and his brother Lynn (rhythm guitar). Johnny Mathis had split from the hit-making J&J duet at the time these films were made...but then he wasn't on the studio recording of this song either, despite the fact it was credited to "Jimmy & Johnny"!
I've watched it 25 times and will do this 25 times more, I know this since I was 10.. now I'm 44..... still rocking! this wasn't pre Elvis it was recorded some were in late 1956 as an very good answer on the popularity of Elvis rockabilly style cause he was the first to do rockabilly, mr Elvis Presley!! thanks for the add, I've to watch it again!!
That's right man! Thanks for getting the sync as good as you can (plus some informative notes). The other postings of this clip are way out. Wish there was a clip of Jimmy and Johnny doing 'Can't find the doorknob'. Have to make do with my old D 45!
This is 1956, from a production of Grand Ole Opry stars. Ernest Tubb introduces them. You can see two members of the Jordanaires sitting to the right. I think Jimmy and Johnny travelled with Marty Robbins.
Just fucking great!!

If this is pre-Elvis, we have to re vote on the king of rock and roll. What year was this?
