Are using the damper pedal or is it because of the reverb (echo produced in the room)? In Bach time there were no pedals on the piano, because the piano wasn't even invented- the piece was originally for the harpsichord. That's aside, wonderful performance! please post the fugue!
This song is not meant to be played VERY fast. The tempo for this peice is Con Moto which means with motion but it does not mean REALLY fasy like Vivace. Otherwise Back would have wrote vivace
nah you're right: song = singing = vocalist (technically). i always think if theres a vocalist its a song, but if its instrumental i'd call it a "piece" :)
If it was originally a song (i.e. sung by a snger), and you play it on the piano, it's still a song, because that's the type of composition it is. However, it could equally and rightly be called a "piece" if it's a piano/instrumental solo transciption of a song. You've also got a style of composition called "song without words". You COULD refer to those as songs, but only in reference to the title. Piece is basically short for "piece of music". So tends just to refer to purely instrumental.
I really like how you do your videos, with the artistic effect. Very nicely done. I play viola mainly myself, and only a bit of piano, so I applaud your talent. =)

I know that it is hard for a piano player to let go off the pedal, but I think your performance would be better without it :)

What if you play the part the vocalist normally plays on an instrument? Then what is it called?

@riceboii101 No, I meant: would it be called a song, still or a piece?
SuperBabyStudios 1 year ago
@SuperBabyStudios I think it would be called an arrangement then.
