And it's not just down to yourself to make your way in life - everybody has a different start in life depending on your upbringing, this is why education plays such an important role. Our construct isnt as calcified and ossified as the Brits primarily because of rising and lowering of class due to factors such as education, profession and income. Our system is largely a socio-economic one which it seems England's is slowly becoming.
