  • I can't believe that the first time I heard this song was only a few weeks ago. Amazing song

  • Yes, I'm 16, perhaps I don't know nothing, but this is what U2 should be!!!

  • Pssss...

  • incredible..I love you Bono, I love U2

  • This is one of their very first and yet it's so freaking underrated would you believe it.

  • whatever happened to this kind of post-punk that they did in their older days, why do they even bother these days

  • REAL U2

  • This is actually good. What happened to U2?

  • @cadmus98 They got better.

  • @willyupshaw I don't like their later stuff as much -- too ballad heavy.

  • indie music!....they aren't franz ferdinand or Arctic Monkeys!they're U2!

  • was this a b side of boy?

  • U2 ROCKED!!

  • Not the biggest U2 fan but I do admire the production on this record.

  • U2 must of been listening to a fuck load of Joy Division when they wrote this song.

  • @2006Socrates This song was actually recorded by Joy Division's producer, so that might have something to do with it.

  • @KienanDietrich Martin Hannett did this? never knew that

  • @TheWheels777 read it in U2 By U2. Hannett was their first real producer before they worked with Steve Lillywhite. They were huge JD fans but Hannett was too controlling for them.

  • @distortion319 Ha... Martin Hannett controlling? no way (joking)

  • Wouldn't it be something marvellous if this comment got the most likes? Wow, how splendid that would be...

  • Best version is B-side on the Fire single. The Edge takes the song to another level entirely.

  • Martin Hannett had to get some extra gear in the studio (Marshall Time Modulator etc) as it wasn't well equipped when this was recorded. Classic Hannett drum sound. Boy was due to be produced by him, but he pulled out. Lillywhite ripped him off pretty well :)

  • If they stopped at this album they would have stayed great rather than the meh band they became.

  • @DeadHadrian quiet please :) ,,

  • this was just played at my prom, which ended at 11 o'clock. it was the final song of the night. just amazing.

  • @U2Mike8393 old school u2 at your prom in this musical day an age!? i wish i went to yours !! better than the shit that will be played at mine i bet

  • @u2feeder i know but i must admit that moot of the dance was loaded with crap. the only other "good" song was Don't Stop Believin' by Journey.

  • so is this the single martin hannett produce or the one lillywhite produce??

  • @pimpinhillsboro Martin Hannett.

  • this is a great song

  • Holy shit, first time I ever heard the actual studio version. The Red Rocks version is the definitive one for sure, still sick.

  • a boy in october 1974

  • My fav .... have this on 45!

  • Great stuff, but the live Red Rocks / Under a Blood Red Sky versions are 100x better!

  • @hmfrod So essentially, you insulted him for being "a retard" then went on to say that what he said was actually completely right! Then you go ahead and insult him again. Well done!

Even if he was wrong, you thought that correcting someone through insults and rage would be a good way to do it? Oh, that doesn't sound right... Ah, you didn't think, did you?

  • Was this U2's first ever single or just their first imternational single?

  • @missbananahead their first international single, Another Day was their first single ever.

  • @MichaelD8393 No it was "Three". Another Day was their second=)

  • @Mumsilius oh thanks i mixed them up again i always do.

  • cant believe they did not put this on an album

  • echos of Joy Division here

  • same producer - Martin Hannett

  • @Arendtsoog Check out S.C.U.M signal3 Paris if you like Joy Division

  • this is the first time i've heard 11 o'clock tick tock. it's awesome!

  • i don't have this song in my Boy CD... why?

    it's amazing!

    I Love U2

  • @jazzman3013 non album single, a celebration is also hard to find, although the music video is here on youtube.

  • @jazzman3013 I think that it's from The Unforgettable Fire ;)

  • @hek7or it's from under a blood red sky

  • @crabcakes21 dont say stupid answers you retard if you dont know about u2 shut up... 11 o'clock tick tock was a single released before their first album Boy and is not included in any album except for a live version in "under a blood red sky"... i hate 15 year old people coming here saying shit when they arent even old enough to know anything about u2

  • @hmfrod @hmfrod So essentially, you insulted him for being "a retard" then went on to say that what he said was actually completely right! Then you go ahead and insult him again. Well done!

Even if he was wrong, you thought that correcting someone through insults and rage would be a good way to do it? Oh, that doesn't sound right... Ah, you didn't think, did you?

  • @hmfrod the extended version of 11 O'clock Tick Tock is on the Pride EP, from 1984/85, the intro was extended with a clock faintly ticking, and then a volume swell-up-effect to the standard studio version.

  • @hek7or It's not, it's 5 years older than TUF and not on any studio album of theirs.

  • perfect

  • Thank you.

  • U2 rocks :D!!!

  • U2 ROCKS!!
