  • There is only one other song that Francoise sings so beautifully lif not more so, I think, and that is 'Song of Winter ?" I may have the Title wrong, but also a magnificent song.

I am so grateful to 'ILoveJenni47' for these wonderful uploads. I still listen to my (5 or 6) old Francoise records, but am thinking of changing to C.D.'s although with the French favourites, they do not seem to be available somehow?, except for "All over the World" and some of Mirielle Matteu's C.D's,

    Thank You

  • Best Female singer that I have ever listened to, even including other french singers.

Totally the lovliest most charming voice that I for 1, have enjoyed sinc ethe 1960's.

    A Big Thank You Jenny

  • @Wendyglen You're welcome, you have great taste in music!

  • I had the privilege of seeing her in concert in Brighton England in i think 1967, she sang this song, and apologised for her poor english, which was not necessary,i was mesmerised by her, long hair, trouser suited, tall slender figure, and her seductive french accent. And i still am today.

  • Natures sweet symphones, the music of the four seasons is more musical than any mortal song can be.The sweetness of this lovely voice ,the magic of this lovely song will bring out the call of the wild in everyones heart.Take care ADonovan43

  • Hi,in my top 5 song favourites of all time, has such meaning for me,amazing lyrics, took me ages to find this song on a cd,before I had a computer,

Thanks for posting this beautiful, gone into my favourites.

  • I love this beautiful sad song.Francoise sings with such feeling.

  • Upon listening to her songs recorded in English there were in my opinion few female pop singers in U.S, and U.K. who sang better than Francois. I don't believe that she was marketed well in the U.S. She also didn't have the sound that was popular in the U.S. and U.K. French music was probably more advanced and better in some respects than English music in the 1950s, 1960s, & 1970s. Francois' songs were much more mature than popular songs in the U.S and U.K. & the other YeYe girls of France

  • A very insightful analysis. I agree that she wasn't likely marketed well in the U.S. "Catch A Falling Star" was an English single recorded especially for the U.S. market and it doesn't suit her style very well. It's done in a very hectic fashion with a big beat. One excellent choice for promotion was "All Over The World" which understandably became a hit in the UK. It was, and is, the perfect song for her voice. Francoise did appear on Hullaballo but I've never seen her appearance.

  • Fantastique! What a face, what a voice - why was she not a megastar in the UK and USA? One of the best French singers ever - and she had so many great songs. Tres magnifique!

  • Yes, she should have been indeed.

  • @SammySparkle69 Since rock 'n' roll hit the scene, when has the USA championed the most talented?
