Nobody forces their dogs to hunt live prey, and the frog does not require a live mouse to survive. If it did, that'd be another story, but creating a predator/prey situation just for your own amusement is an insult to the natural order and even dangerous to the frog. I also made it obvious in my comments that I'm fully aware of what reptiles eat in the wild, but when you BRING THEM INTO YOUR HOME AND PUT THEM IN A FUCKING TANK, you have no reason to re-create the life and death struggle of hunting live prey. Animals in the wild are killed by their prey all the time. Why would you want to mimic that situation for your "pet" unless you get babyish kicks out of it? Quit being stupid.
....And for your information, yes, I have kept many reptiles, amphibians, scorpions, tarantulas and giant centipedes. None of them ever needed live, struggling food, and most reptile owners I know are INFURIATED when people feed live rats to snakes. It isn't "nature" to make them fight for food in an aquarium, and store-bought, dead pet food is better for them and cheaper, so like I keep saying, childish amusement is the only reason people feed live at all...and that's the wrong reason.

What most of these hick commentators fail to understand is that whether or not this occurs in the wild, THIS ISN'T THE WILD, this is a PET. Nobody forces their dogs to hunt live prey, and the frog does not require a live mouse to survive. If it did, that'd be another story, but creating a predator/prey situation just for your own amusement is an insult to the natural order and even dangerous to the frog. I have seen rodents gnaw their way out of a toad.

But non-living pet food is specially formulated to be better, it's cheaper and it's more available. This is an animal fed to another animal ONLY to give these inbreeds a laugh. It's wrong. It even threatens the life of the frog - just as their life is threatened in the wild every time they eat something that can bite back. Why keep a pet at all just to re-create the dangers it would face outdoors? Again, for laughs. It's a waste and a shame.

I found this by accident searching for normal, mentally healthy frog videos. I also made it obvious in my comments that I'm fully aware of what reptiles eat in the wild, but when you BRING THEM INTO YOUR HOME AND PUT THEM IN A FUCKING TANK, you have no reason to re-create the life and death struggle of hunting live prey. ....And for your information, yes, I have kept many reptiles, amphibians, scorpions, tarantulas and giant centipedes. None of them ever needed live, struggling food, and most reptile owners I know are INFURIATED when people feed live rats to snakes. It isn't "nature" to make them fight for food in an aquarium, and store-bought, dead pet food is better for them and cheaper, so like I keep saying, childish amusement is the only reason people feed live at all...and that's the wrong reason.

Well to be brutally honest I don't think all animals are equal. So I don't care about a frog or a mouse. I someone were feeding puppies and kitten's to an alligator I probably wouldn't care either as long as it's not my dog. It's food for the alligator. And animals kill each other all the time for reasons other than to eat and survive. They kill seemingly for fun or just because they don't like an animal because it's different.
