  • my 3 yr old son loves these two songs, he begs me to play it before bed time, he calls it "the funny man and the banjo song" x

  • i love the Lewis family

  • Man Jeff can rip some Bluegrass! I love it!

  • you know what would have been funnier? if Guy, Mark, and David would have popped up and said, "Empty Arms Hotel" (from the old Hee Haw skit) LOL

  • Ive talked to many members of this family over the last 30 years at bluegrass festivals .They are wonderful kind ,friendly and open people you will ever meet .

  • sherri lewis easter

  • ive seen the Lewis Family many times at Camp Springs blue grass park here in N C and always loved them, they are wonderful!

  • Thanks for the help, guys. Really appreciate it. God bless.

  • Matthew and Hoover - he said that she'd made out her will -" there will be only women pall bearers and when I asked her why she said , well the men wouldn't take me out when I was alive and they sure ain't gonna take me out when I'm dead."

  • And, for that matter: What does he say from 4:08? His accent is too thick for me... :-D

  • at 4:08 he said shes already made out her will and at 14 i couldnt make out the last word but he said "i thought it was a pretty.."

  • He says "she said there will only be women pallbearers because the men didn't take me out when I was living and they sure aren't going to take me out when I'm dead". His sister Miggie (who he was telling the joke about) was never married and he joked around with her a lot.

  • he said "I read it the other day"

  • @DerDuke "she's only going to have women pall bearers. Why? the men wouldn't take me out when I was living and they sure ain't gonna take me out when i'm dead"

  • What does Mark say at 00:13??? Can anyone help?

  • GREAT music; five stars!

  • Tis simply great! love it. Great gospel music. It doesn't have to be perfect or anything, but it goes straightly to the heart and that's most important in music. thanks! Max

  • When you get right down to it, this group... well, lets just say that they do not care for being perfect, they do not care for presenting music in a gold, cookie cutter, spit shined version. They simply go out, sing their HEARDS AND SOULS out, have fun EACH time they do it, and it simply makes you smile, tap your foot, sing along, and fills you with the joy that a million perfect artists couldnt touch!

  • Roy is a riot, these folks put on a fantastic show.

    Great video, thanks for posting...Bill

  • that guy roy is so funny! i love him

  • I was 11 years old when I first heard the Lewis Family sing Jacob's Ladder and, now at 46, have been a huge fan since. Even after 55 years on stage, what harmony!

They are the Band's Band....the Entertainer's Entertainment - You have to have spent some time on stage, or at least tried it, to fully appreciate what they do and how they are able to completely engage an audience.

    Legends!

  • GREAT!!

    thanks for posting!

  • I can not even begin to count how many times I have seen Honey in the rock. And everytime it makes me laugh, although I know exactly what is going on. The Lewis Family is such a talented and amazing group and is one of my all time favorites!

  • Shari Easter is related, she is the daughter of Polly who stands next to Lil' Roy on this video. Isn't the resemblance amazing?

  • i love the way they sing.

  • beautiful stuff,i have also been a big fan of the Lewis family since way back....beautiful music

  • I have been a Lewis Family fan since I was a child. I think I first saw them and was blessed by their jooyfull music in 1982. Wow, I'm old hee hee

  • Honey in the rock is one of my favorite gospel songs and it was fun seeing the Lewis family sing it.

  • Little Roy is simply an amazing human being. If their were more of him on this old rock, things would surely be better.

  • I love bluegrass gospel. This is awesome! The comment about women pallbearers is hilarious.
