Right after watching this video, I wanna badmouth you, but I know how hard accents can be. I'm an American trying to learn Cockney and Southern US is a pretty big shift from Australian. I live in southcarolina and that is not how a southern accent is spoken! The history of the southern accent came from the people who settled the high places of the south by the scottish and the Irish..Thats where it came from but it isnt spoken like that! People in the southern Unitedstates are very religious, honest and honor still means something here! The unitestates military past and present is made up predominately of southerners which is why Europe today doesnt speak German as a result

The name is Southern American English, or SAE for short. If you want to know how a real Southerner sounds, I'll record a video.

there are several "redneck" accent categories, actually. From what I can tell, Texans (the stereotype you seem to be going for) have a far less melodic accent. There's a version of a WV accent that draws out words sort of like that, but it's deeper, longer, the vowels are different, and the "twang" is different (and in that case, often a little reduced from other WV accents). The rest of WV is even further from that. Also, a Mexican/South American sounding thing seems to be popping in and out.
