This is an older Series 1 engine using a highly modified YB head casting, I developed a completely new S2 head in 2006, the later S2 has only changed in minor casting details since Phil Collins ran the first prototype. Colin McRae ordered 20 low volume production power units for his R4 project, sadly the project had to be halted !
very impressive engine, was just doing some research into these engines, is it purely the stroker crank that displaces it to 2.5l or do the cylinders need to be enlarged? and a certain specific size na piston and rods have to be used?
No Roy Millington casts his own alloy blocks and uses new crank, rods pistons etc to get 2.5 litres. I'm not sure if he may cast new heads or not or they are just well ported cosworth items, he does use his own cam covers though.
