Verry lame jungling,starting at wraiths wolves or golems is never a good idea....every champ should start at red-blue buff for jungle its easy and more effective since you get more xp....skarner jungle is supposed to go like this:blue buff,wolves,wraiths,golems then gank if possible,and jungle item should be cloth armor +5x health potions

The difference between that route and the one I use is the ability to gank earlier. Not sure how much a tradeoff this route is to the one I do. I go blue, wolves, wraiths, red, then golems. With a good leash I have enough health to gank top or bot, whichever side I am on. At around 4:00 I am ready to gank.

I've only ever jungled on one champion (fiddle), so I may not know what I'm talking about. But wouldn't it be smarter to start with a buff potion and a health potion, farm your way to lvl 2 or 3, then get the blue buff just before the potion wears off?

im not saying im best skarner out there, but i get 25 armor pen with runes, marks and quints, the rest - manaregen. i can clear the whole jungle with 5 pots and cloth. i am lvl 4 and ready to gank at minute 4:20-4:30... get a strong leash (150-200 dmg) at blue, taking first skill, Q, i ding, get to wolfs, Q and E - spamm the Q. go to wraiths open with E and kill them with E while spamming Q meanwhile. at lvl 3 get another Q, start red with ~400HP and small golems with 250 HP...

@jamesthefocker One of the reasons (correct me if I am wrong, @stonewall008) that he gets a mana crystal is because once he gets blue, the mana regen is 1.5% of his max mana...so if he starts off with the mana crystal and has JUST enough mana to get to level 3, and then snags blue, his mana regen will be greater than if he had gone cloth and 5 and then counted on the inferior 1.5% regen.

Stonewall I found a pretty nice jungle using a regrowth pendant and a potion starting at blue golem with 1/14/15 masteries 6xAD marks 3xArmorpen marks,Flat armor seals,Attack speed glyphs and AD quints. Without a leash its pretty mean,but with the leash its sailing through,I go blue golem,wolves,wraiths,minigolem­s,go back buy philo stone and an hp potion which really solves his mana problems imo, and then head over to red lizard, After that your easily gank ready. Try it out andtellemeurthoughts

skarner himself is awesome, and I've found his jungle great once he gets a rageblade... but before that he's pretty lackluster (even laning he's relatively weak before that point). You just can't jungle with someone that's that dependent on a 2300 gold item when there are other junglers that are just stronger without items or get more benefit from rushing wriggle's. If they would just buff his early early game a bit he could be a good jungler, but his base stats are already insane :S

Skarner requires a solo lane, the item he needs to be effective need the farm. He CAN jungle but that doesn't mean he should. His ganks aren't very effective either until lvl 6.

I don't understand some of the stupid decisions you made in this. First item? If he has mana problems start at blue with a pull which is what i do... And you let so many of the e marks on the jungle minions go to waste just because you don't consume them to get health back. I've found his ganks to be fine too, just close the gap with w and/or flash then slow them to if you're level 6 ulti then back into your team.... Take cloth armor and 5 health pots...

@jamesthefocker first of all - consuming all the E marks wouldn't heal you for much since the heal is reduced significantly after each one. The damage you take from the minion you're trying to kill outweighs how much you're even going to heal. With a sapphire AND blue i still went oom. He's mana intensive no matter what you do.

As for the start and ganking, the reason he's bad is because other junglers do it better.

"Oh just leash" - The thing is he needs a leash. Other junglers gain speed/sustainability/versitili­ty when they get a leash, Skarner just straight out needs one or he won't do Red.

"He can keep up with Flash" - So can everyone else. His shell doesn't help much either. It's like ganking with Udyr when Bear doesn't stun, except he can't spam it.

Um, i don't want to sound like i know everything or anything, but what i run is: Flat AS Glyphs Flat Armor Seals 6x Flat AD Marks 3x Flat AS Marks Flat Armor Quints 1/18/11, grabbing all the Dodge/-1 Damage/Health/Armor, and the EXP/Buff/Gp10 Cloth and Pots Without a Leash, i ended at 4:02 or so with EQEW and 520 health. When i ran out of mana, i prioritized E>Q, and started red immediately after Wraiths Sorry, but is there a reason why this is bad? I mean, hes not great, but he isnt too bad.

@Gotruto Because his ganks are are useless pre-6 and don't get better post 6. He isn't sustained like WW to jungle straight to 6 either. You lose the AS from shield soon as it pops, slowing the route. I think even the bonus damage effect on his Q doesn't work on minions. His skillshot is really difficult to land, and you have to land it TWICE for the slow effect. Leave the jungle to champs that have either great ganks or sustainablility as Skarner has neither, send him top.

Your route only allows u to be lvl 3 if not walking a long path.

You dont get the boots for the gank.

Its slower than doing a standard route to lvl 4

It's basicially the standard amumu path. only problem atm for me is that his q makes u stop which ruins ganking potential

It's a shame. I got really excited when I saw he actually had a jungler tag, and then I saw that he barely survives blue buff without a leash even with armpen/armor/CDR runes (which I realize aren't optimal, but a champ tagged as a jungler should have been able to perform with a runeset like that). I wouldn't be surprised if they buffed his jungling a bit, as it's kind of disappointing right now :/. It is a lot of fun once you get rageblade though.

This hasn't failed me yet. He may be able to only pull off one effective gank but it's enough to get him his phage after Wriggle which makes him the ultimate chaser. I believe his durability/utility in team fights makes up for his lack in the jungle.
