As a 5 year fan of Umph I am always nervous about new material, but this song reenforces why I should never doubt the mighty McGee. Cannot. Stop. Playing. It.
Very Dancy this a great Counter to all their other work. IMO smooth very prog/electronic/disco along with solid Bayless lyrics that evoke emotion and are not a bunch of Jibb I immediately love the transitions in an out of the chorus ...I may be a little bias I am an admitted Umfreak....
Loved Safety and Mantis...both very poetic and heavy with real emotion. But saying that, it's so nice to see the boys return to their lighthearted, fun, party music; not only from a musical standpoint, but from a personal standpoint on their end. I see a lot of criticism, but I think that Brendan's said what he wanted to say about that chapter of his life...so now it's time to climb back on the horse and get the party started!!!

UMphrey's is the best live band anywhere on the planet. To be original today you have to create your own genre. They have clearly done this with improg. I can't even imagine a tighter band. Bravo fellas! So excited to rock it out with you in Pittsburgh a week after the release!
This is definitely a different side of umphrey's. Im really digging the production values. Definitely the most slick sounding studio recording i've heard from them.
@dickdonaldson And as far as I know, it's all the band and Kevin Browning. Kevin has REALLY come into his own as a studio engineer/producer. When you think about how demo-esque (although good) Local Band sounds, he's really upped his game and learned a lot. I don't think the guy gets enough credit.
this is an OK short radio friendly song that can be opened up and expanded upon live as usual for the UMPH. I think the chorus sounds Hall and Oates-ish
