What if Austin had to retire from wrestling after Summerslam '97? Can you imagine the WWF in the late 90's without him? Maybe he could have still had an on-screen role?
I'm sure you mentioned this somewhere before. But I was wondering am I the only one who continues to think about what type of impact that Vince has made on wrestling since the purchasing of WCW. I mean, you hear them bitching and moaning about how certaing guys have left for Hollywood and how they should be doing more for the business. But in some sick twisted way, am I right for thinking that McMahon is at fault for the business suffering? I mean, did he not unconsciously signal his own demise?
@morbidanjel44 It's a weird paradox; the whole point of a business is to destroy your competitors(it certainly was in the WWF/WCW saga), but in doing so, Vince killed his own killer instinct, and he's more or less admitted as such. He laments in a "What have I done?" sort of way about how killing his competition has created an environment in his industry where there's a huge hole in terms of seasoning wrestlers, keeping him on his toes, etc. So yes, you're pretty much right, heh.
@morbidanjel44 Is it that or are other promoters even before WCW's death were they just lazy? Because remember even after Russo left Nitro still looked the Diet Sierra Mist to WWE's Pepsi. Going back to the comment about Austin's neck injury I think the Attitude Era would have had more wrestling and less "soap opera" angles because of course, they we keeping Austin on screen via segments not matches and this influenced the rest of that Era.
any time you say he who we do not speak of i think of voldemoret in harry potter w/ the hole You-know-who, and i loved this video, WHAT IF JOHN CENA JUST SUDDENLY QUIT?
If the Radicals had stayed in WCW the company still would have gone down just like it did because it was already over then. Benoit would have been jobbed by Sullivan to Sid the day after he agreed to stay. Malenko would not now have his great job as a WWF agent helping make the new talent and the shows in the major league. Guerrero would have died from drug over dose years earlier and Vickie would not be able to support her family as 1 of the greatest on air general manager characters ever.
@MRobert21 Dude, Sullivan was dumb but not stupid. He threw in his role as WCW Booker when the Radicals left because they were the backbone of WCW. He knew that without them, his booking role would've been a waste of time. And the reason he hadn't booked them on top yet was because of Hogan's and Nash's creative clauses fucking out Sullivan's ideas and plans.
You should watch the Kevin Sullivan RF Video shoot interview some time because even he says you are completely wrong. Sullivan never "threw in" his role as booker, he was removed later after the Radicals left because his booking stunk. If Sullivan "threw in" his role as booker the Radicals would have stayed because Sullivan being removed as booker was their demand. Of course, Sting, Luger, and most of the rest of WCW promised to walk out if the Radicals got their way, which is why Sullivan won
@MRobert21 I have seen his RF shoot. He left the role without arguing. Radicals would've left anyway. After all, we're talking about WCW 2000. Who would you have rather had? Russo or Sullivan? I dunno why he didn't keep the Radicals in the first place. They had more skill than Sid & Luger. TBH I really don't care. WCW isn't my cup of tea and I don't really watch it. I'm Gen Y, ergo I'm stuck with the Hornswoggle Show every Monday night. I suppose I am a child who knows nothing about WCW. *shrug*
You are "a child who knows nothing about WCW," but at least you admit it, so I respect you for that since most on the internet do not. Radicals would not have left any way as they had no idea if the WWF would even hire them, which is why a lot of their pals who also said they would quit (Rey, Kidman, Konnan, etc.) did not. The reason why Sullivan has not gotten a WWF job is because the Radicals and him still had heat years later. I would side with the stars and Sullivan over 4 mid carders.
What if The NWO came back in 2006 to feud with DX for a short feud? There was lots of talk about it. It had a huge buzz going on the internet. Even though both groups were far from there prime, I still think it would have been amazing.
I was thinking about this: what if Austin wouldn't have left WCW. Imagine for a second that it's him in his jeans sitting on a chair in the middle of the ring waiting for Sting. Instead of a DDP.
Now I sort of liked DDP and he became a star. His character of a blue collar guy worked well. But with Austin you would have had a guy that's trully bad ass to fight the nWo.
The Stone Cold character would never have existed if Austin stayed on WCW. He'd just be another nWo whore like WCW (in their vaunted wisdom) did with Savage, Hennig, Rick Rude & so on & so forth.
Austin was a home grown WCW guy. He would never have been accepted in the nWo unless he was a kickass like Bagwell. Like I said, place him in the DDP role(wich the chair in the middle of the ring and a pair of Jeans) and it would have been better than Luger or DDP facing the nWo. A real people's champ kicking butt.
Exactly right, there would be no Stone Cold if he stayed in WCW, but Austin would have never been NWO because Hogan hated Austin and would never allow that. Austin would have stayed Stunning Steve on WCW Saturday night wrestling for the television title on the mid card. As far as binging back NWO or Goldturd goes, forget it, that ship has sailed in 1999. Some thing hits once in wrestling and the more you bring it back to recreate it, the worse it gets.
What if Shawn Michaels had wrestled Eddie Guerrero? Remember, Michaels said that he and Eddie had NEVER been in a match, said the night after Eddie died.
What if The Radicals had gotten into a feud with D-Generation X, when the Radicals came over from WCW? Biggest blown chance in WWF history.
What if Chris Benoit had NOT had the neck injury, when he was partnered with Chris Jericho? How crazy would one of the best tag-team eras been if the Chris's had managed to stay healthy?
ECW I hate to say it, would have eventually gone under. And even if The Radicalz stayed, WCW would have also probably gone under. True if ECW had the money and if WCW had some direction, they would probably still be around. And yeah I always wondered why Bishoff didn't drop the 20mil to buy the WCW videos, hell if i had 20mil dollars, that would be the first thing I'd buy.
1. I agree that Erik Bischoff should have bought WCW if only for the DVD, and to kept WCW alive.
2. I don't think The Redicals leaving mattered much. But at least since WCW wanted to push them(Benoit with the belt) at leastwe would have gotten better wrestling in WCW.
i love this show dude but i have to say the guy with the blounde hair dusent no anything good .. its unfair for me too say i hate the guy coz i dont no him but he is so friggin annoying .. sorry to bitch but i had to say it .. i do enjoy the show so keep it goin thanjks man
chris benoit chris benoit chris benoit chris benoit hes life may of ended in tragedy but he was one of the greatest ever and he still should be rememberd!!
i always wonder what if owen hart was still alive, would he of been wwe champion, in 1994 during his best ever year imo, it looked as though he would be one day, but with the whole bret screw job deal i dont know if they would of made him champ, i would of made him champion
Would they have put him over? If so, would it have been right away? How long would he have stayed? Would would that have meant for the success of TNA?
Thanks, and thank you for making these videos expressing the truth and what needs to be said, wwe are just scared of you. also check the what if i posted
What if that Survivor Series 99 main event was triple threat between Rock/Austin and Triple for the title as planned, who you think wins and how would think the match would have gone?
What if WCW was kept was separate corporation run by Shane McMahon after WrestleMania X-Seven, how long would that lasted until the Invasion angle would happen?
hey guys cant wait for u to come back in the new year with a bang, it will be great to seeall u guys again in the new year (hopefully january) please come back that month guys lol i think am going to explode if i wait anymore for u guys to come back lol well send my regards to all the guys eric thank you sir and good day chap
If Vince had gone to prison it wouldnt have changed much because his wife would have taken over and she would run the company under Vinces supervision from jail on visits and phone calls. If ECW never signed with TNN it would still be around as the underdog in the wrestling business surviving off shows & ppv's.
Oh, and if they hadnt left WCW, it wouldve been business as usual. Benoit wouldve been jobbed out to Nash or someone. Eddie wouldve never gotten a world title. Dean wouldve eventually been phased out and become a backstage. Perry wouldve benefitted the most honestly. He was a decent midcarder and contender for the US title.
If they had bought wcw, wrestling wouldnt be as crappy as it is today. Well.. AS crappy. If Vince had been sent to prison, I think WWF wouldve went out of business. And I also think WCW would still be around neck and neck with WWE if Bischoff had gotten his deal. ECW wouldve gone under still, but it wouldve been a hell of a show.
Heres one, I havent seen the other vids but just throwin it out there..
I think that Jamie Kellner just didn't want wrestling on TNT or TBS because of the violent content. Those networks were moving on to dramas, comedies and movies and they didn't promote the wrestling shows enough when 2001 came. Eric Bischoff would have been just a big a leader of a wrestling promotion as Vince McMahon.
What if the rock never went hollywood and still wrestled today?? would he have jus gotten old and corny...or would he still b at the top of the game and be a main event contender??
heres a question if the bret hart screw job never happened and bret stayed in wwf would the starrcade 1997 Hogan vs Sting match have ended cleanly because the ending at starrcade was based on the ending of the screw job or would of wcw just of done somthing else to screw up the finshed of that match some other way (and I was a hugh WCW fan back in the day)
Without a doubt, He who do not speak of, Eddie, Perry Saturn, and Dean leaving World Championship Wrestling killed that organization because liked you guys said in this video them leaving was like all right we don't have hardly any of the establish guys anymore and now you're taking the wrestlers that would've been the next WCW Champions and stars and let them walk. From a talent point of view that was the end of WCW.
main event mafia .. i like them i think itz a good story line .. but they need 2 make some adjustments ...AND there not like a nwo this is more like hair club for man lol...
hey eric what if hall and nash wouldnt have left 4 da big bucks{WCW}. what if goldberg would have won da elimination chamber. what if scott steiner was 2 beat triple h.. i know i sound so wcw. what if sting would say 2 hell with da contract an da lights go out an a scorpion shows up on da titantron. eric u have a great show please edit ya stuff an get back 2 ya fans.
So in other words, Austin is never in WWF to become the "flagship". More then likely, WWF would not have had someone to be the new Hulk Hogan. The Rock became a mega start, but it required the Attitude era which required Austin. Without the Attitude era, the WWF would have eventually bled so much money they may have come even closer to folding. As for HBK, chances are he would have come back from his "retirement" much quicker but it wouldn't have made a difference. T
Here is a what if me and my friends discussed. What if Hulk never slammed Andre? You could argue Hulk wouldn't be as big of a star as he is today, but I don't think that's likely. The awesome thing to think about is the match before, Macho Man vs. Steamboat, was one of the best WWF matches in history, IMO. If that match was featured more promentiantly as the major face that won at WM3, could Ricky Steamboat have been elevated to a Hulk Hogan face icon status? What do you think?
Interesting scenario. Hogan bodyslamming Andre was THE key moment in that match, that show, maybe even in all of wrestling for it's time. Hogan just beating Andre period, though, would have been big in & of itself like you implied. BUT, as for Steamboat ever reaching Hogan-level status? I don't see it for him or ANYONE else(Snuka, Slaughter, whomever). The test for me, is put whomever literally in Hogan's shoes, on the Cheerios box, on Johnny Carson, etc. & I see no one working as Hogan did
Wow, role reversal. hmmm. Well, obviously Michaels would have joined the nWo. That would have been pretty huge for WCW. I could see them doing the Wolfpack split the next year with Nash/HBK, maybe even Savage and/or Hall, on one side & Hogan + friends on the other. Bret would have feuded with Shamrock before or after losing the belt, but he would have been in the main event at WM14 against Austin & put him over, the true passing of the guard. From there Bret'd have retired sooner or later
got a two big questions for you guys to consider first, what if the wga strike cost the WWE and TnA most of their writers would both companies have a lower business decline now and What if Russo stayed in wwe or went to roh in 06 would TnA progaming be alot different and bit more successful or would it just cont. to struggle like in late 04-mid 05
Thanks for the questions. First of all, a WGA wouldn't affect wrestling at all(as we saw the last time it happened the other year), but even if it did, wrestling got along great(better, even) for over 70 years without TV writers, and even so they have a litany of agents(former wrestlers like Malenko, Hayes, Anderson, Steamboat, etc.) to fall back on so the product might actually IMPROVE, heh. As for Russo, he wouldn't ever be in ROH, but staying in WWE I see not affecting TNA at all. Thanks!
DONT GO!!!!..just found your vids, fucking great stuff..some of the stuff is comedy gols..especially the backlash vid when eric rips on Benoit..i was clapping after the speech..loved the hanging benoit figure..hahahaha
First of all, thanks! You have over twenty past shows to catch up on, so there's at least plenty of material for you to see before we return :) Secondly, we're glad to make you laugh & entertain you. I hope we made you think too! The Benoit thing is a very divisive issue, but I'm glad you understood what I was trying to say. Thanks again
what if vince had kept wcw brand going instead of starting smackdown .He had a real good starting of a good storyline with shane supposedly buying it out from under him
Well, I don't think the Shane McMahon storyline was good, heh, but all the same, if McMahon had kept using the WCW name, I really don't see that much of a difference. Basically, considering how much McMahon likes to BRAND things to his own liking(see ECW), I would venture to guess that we'd pretty much have the exact same show(Smackdown) that we do now, except it'd be called WCW Smackdown. Purely in name in only. Just my guess. Thanks!
guys you are amazing at what you do i hope wwe decide against being complete assholes and leave yor channel alone . i see it as they are scared of yur popularity that why they hit you witha copyright infringement . maybe wwe could get back to putting tv that is actually at least a little entertaining rather than hitting at people who actaully do make something of interest like you guys. anyway good luck and i hope to see you in a few months
I praised him because I enjoyed him! That simple, heh. Anyway, thanks very much for sticking with us from the start! Hearing your words is so very gratifying. Even despite the Mongo stuff, heh. Thanks again
Hope to see you guys back soon enough, yours is a great show and I think all wrestling fans would be at a loss if the Wrestling Roundtable did not make it back because the WWE are tossers. Looking forward to your return!
WWE fucking sucks, what fags.......... Eric & the rest of the panel, thanz for all of your discussions since starting the show, you had a great run & I can't wait until you guys make your return. hopefully when your make, WWE & TNA will have been able to jump up in quality.
Thank you very much, we're happy you've enjoyed the show so far. As for WWE & TNA jumping in quality in a few months time...doubtful, heh, but we'll see! Time will tell. Thanks again!
Thanks Dave. Never commented before? Why is that? We'd surely love to hear some of your thoughts, opinions & ideas on the topics we've discussed. Perhaps in the future? But, the videos are still there, so feel free! Anyway, thanks very much for enjoying the show. We're glad to have fans like you
well i meant wearing sweat pants an cowboy boots..lol but i do get da humor on dat one. but n e ways fuck vince wrestling roundtable rules no matter what, u do have a strong cult following, not like a JIM JONES thing. honestly if u went up against wwecw or smackdown u guys wood take dem n da ratings.
Damn, I was just getting the Kool Aid prepared ;P j/k I think you're WAY overstating our standing, we'd never be able to beat actual wrestling, let alone WWE, head-to-head, heh, but I appreciate the sentiment, thanks very much for the support & words
I hope you guys come back. I love the show and coming home from a shit week at work it was so cool to see the WRT. Enjoy your holiday and come back soon. ps dont let the bastards grind you down. Jay
Thank you very much, Jay! We're glad to know that we were part of a routine you had & very happy we were able to help you recover from a shitty work week :) I think in this time that, hopefully, all of us will have our batteries recharged & though I myself have a lot of work to do for the show in the interim, it'll be worth it when we get back! Thanks!
We're not "shooters," so I wouldn't say "other shooter" because we're not, number 1. And number 2, they're not either, heh. They can call themselves "shooters" all they want, but it doesn't mean anything. If they're "shooters," that means there's "workers." Who are the "workers" among then then? Just nerds trying to sound cool, that's all they are. And yes, they are boring as you said. Fuck them
yea i know what your saying if it was not for the wwe then the rock would not be earning all that money now in hollywood. i respect what u have to say. and rock will probalby demand a crazy fee to come back for a night so i cant see it happening lol
you know i useually don't aggree with you guys and i'm a big jeff hardy fan (go aheead and boo if you want) but c'mon that's not copywright infingment talking about somones personal life BTW you guys made the right choice i've had a video blocked by WWE (and on my other accout FOX) and it's best to just remove it and try to upload it agian (just incase your wondering that video i'm talking about that was blocked by WWE STILL hasn't seen he light of day)
If that video will be re-uploaded, it'll be a different version with the pictures blurred ala WWE's DVDs of the Attitude era with their 'scratch WWF logo' blurred. But thanks for the support anyway! :)
Damn true, man. Fight the power. You guys are great. Improved production quality and other aspects being improved can only add the proverbial icing to the cake. This is by far one of the most entertaining shows on YouTube. See you soon, hopefully!
got a two big questions for you guys to consider first, what if the wga strike cost the WWE and TnA most of their writers would both companies have a lower business decline now and What if Russo stayed in wwe or went to roh in 06 would TnA progaming be alot different and bit more successful or would it just cont. to struggle like in late 04-mid 05
We've talked about advocating some sort of 'off-season' for WWE on a previous show, and Lance Storm just wrote a column about the different factors. I shed crocodile tears for WWE's revenue losses. Even if they took off several months, they'd still have plenty of revenue streams between merchandise & on-demand services. Nothing compared to 'on-season' sources like house shows, PPVs, TV time, etc. but better than nothing for a multi-million $ company that can afford it.
Good Show dudes, bummer to hear you're taking a break. Make sure you come back!
What if the Rock had never left the WWE? I think we never would've had the 05/06/07 Super Cena assault and we'd be calling The Great One the greatest ever WWE wrestler.
First of all, thanks! As for The Rock, we would've gotten the "Super Cena assault" as you call it regardless. And Orton, and Batista, and every other Chosen goofball. I don't see why Rock merely being there would've canceled their rise when so many like HHH, HBK, Undertaker, etc. were also around and WWE got what they wanted anyway. Rock was always jobbing anyway, so he would have put them ALL over, and done it first - unlike those three I mentioned ;) heh
i havent watched all your videos since i think december and even though i havent commented i have really enjoyed them alot ! apprciate your views. thanks again - Orangekorn (james k)
Thank you very much! Loved reading the support. Also very happy to see you realize you're not a mark. Good for you! I wish more people would have that perspective. Remember, 'mark' means 'sucker,' and you ain't no sucker, sucka! But in all seriousness, to be able to be a big fan of theirs when we criticism them and still enjoy the show, shows a good sense of balance in you that I would hope more fans would display! Thanks again
Man, the whole if Bischoff had managed to get WCW is my biggest What if regret of all time.
And if you guys decide to stop, the good for you. I'll be disappointed that my favorite place to here (usually) intelectual conversations about wrestling. Thanks for the memories (good lord that sounded corrnie. Oh well)
It always used to bother me that WCW never really did much with the old NWA footage, seems like they shoulda been the ones doing the Ric Flair/Dusty/Horsemen dvds first.
Some of my what ifs:
What if ECW never folded? ROH probably either wouldn't exist or it'd be a small time indy.
What if Rick Rude never got injured? Would he be world champ in WWF or WCW?
What if the Rock hadn't stopped wrestling? Would he still be the top face in WWF/WWE?
Interesting questions. Right, ROH wouldn't exist if ECW hadn't gone out of business. It'd probably have reverted back to the regional indy it really always was. Rude would definitely have been a WCW world champion if he'd never have gotten injured. Had he gone back to the WWF in 97 as a wrestler, I still don't see him ever winning the title, however. Of course The Rock would still be on top :) Not only was he the man, lesser main eventers have stayed on top longer *cougHHH* ;) Thanks!
Damn, you guys are taking a break? I guess Im stucking watching "shooters". Its a good thing I just discovered you guys, because now I have alot of your old videos to watch. Keep up the good work, really love the show!
My big what ifs: What if Bret Hart was never injured at Starrcade 1999? How would that affect the nWo 2000? I think it would have worked out alot better.
Also, what if all the dirtsheet magazines decided to go away? Would that help the business? Would it hurt Indys?
You're not stuck watching that boring, stupid shit, heh. No one's MAKING you watch them, right? Besides, you've got over 20 shows to catch up on :) Like you said. But anyway, thanks very much for enjoying the show & letting us know. If Bret Hart hadn't gotten so hurt, that could have radically altered history. Maybe. nWo 2000 probably would have faded out anyway, but Russo MIGHT not have gotten usurped so early, then the Radicalz would have stayed, maybe WCW would still exist! heh. MAYBE.
haha, if they'd have been doing that for the past 6 years, then the wrestling landscape would probably look a lot different, a lot better. Hasn't happened yet!
Thank you wrestling roundtable for This great show and one day i will see more new show's of you guys discussing wrestling on here. hopefully soon (maybe in 2 weeks time or something) but all i know is this is very sad as i want u guys to come back. and i hope u will soon
Do not Thank me for this comment
I want to Thank you instead. for having this great show. u guys are legends
You know I have to thank all compliments :) heh, it's not going to be as short as 2 weeks, or even 2 months. But don't despair! It's not sad, it's doing what's best for the show & the audience. Thanks again for everything
Well, it wasn't Turner who sold WCW first of all. That was AOL/Time Warner, Turner never wanted to sell WCW. But aside from specifics, I know your point was what if WCW was never sold, so let's discuss that. Had WCW stayed on the AOL/Time Warner portfolio, let's also assume Jaime Kellner would have allowed it to stay on TNT & TBS. Had that happened, it's entirely possibly WCW could have rebounded eventually by now 7 years later, or stayed stagnant as it was.
What if Austin had to retire from wrestling after Summerslam '97? Can you imagine the WWF in the late 90's without him? Maybe he could have still had an on-screen role?

based on your theory that bret was not anything out of wwe, which of course i don't subscribe to looking at "great" matches others like hogan, etc had
but one other thing that could be looked at
if goldberg would not have injured and basically retired bret
and the real bret would have showed back now
which could wrestle
what would have happened ?

Now I sort of liked DDP and he became a star. His character of a blue collar guy worked well. But with Austin you would have had a guy that's trully bad ass to fight the nWo.
skinwalkerxxx 2 years ago 6
The Stone Cold character would never have existed if Austin stayed on WCW. He'd just be another nWo whore like WCW (in their vaunted wisdom) did with Savage, Hennig, Rick Rude & so on & so forth.
stevestoner13 2 years ago
Austin was a home grown WCW guy. He would never have been accepted in the nWo unless he was a kickass like Bagwell. Like I said, place him in the DDP role(wich the chair in the middle of the ring and a pair of Jeans) and it would have been better than Luger or DDP facing the nWo. A real people's champ kicking butt.
skinwalkerxxx 2 years ago

2themoon 2 years ago

If Vince had gone to prison it wouldnt have changed much because his wife would have taken over and she would run the company under Vinces supervision from jail on visits and phone calls. If ECW never signed with TNN it would still be around as the underdog in the wrestling business surviving off shows & ppv's.
shawngulledge 3 years ago
True but that son of a bitch sure as hell would be walking funny! lol
helpmedie91111 3 years ago
Oh, and if they hadnt left WCW, it wouldve been business as usual. Benoit wouldve been jobbed out to Nash or someone. Eddie wouldve never gotten a world title. Dean wouldve eventually been phased out and become a backstage. Perry wouldve benefitted the most honestly. He was a decent midcarder and contender for the US title.
VeNeM999 3 years ago
that's weird because when Benoit left he was WCW champion.
sakonhagakure 3 years ago

oldSkoolECduB 3 years ago
If they had bought wcw, wrestling wouldnt be as crappy as it is today. Well.. AS crappy. If Vince had been sent to prison, I think WWF wouldve went out of business. And I also think WCW would still be around neck and neck with WWE if Bischoff had gotten his deal. ECW wouldve gone under still, but it wouldve been a hell of a show.
Heres one, I havent seen the other vids but just throwin it out there..
What if Owen hadnt had his accident?
VeNeM999 3 years ago
I think Owen would either be retired, wrestling in TNA, or finally got his world title push. (but i doubt option 3 would've happened.)
sakonhagakure 3 years ago
I think that Jamie Kellner just didn't want wrestling on TNT or TBS because of the violent content. Those networks were moving on to dramas, comedies and movies and they didn't promote the wrestling shows enough when 2001 came. Eric Bischoff would have been just a big a leader of a wrestling promotion as Vince McMahon.

heres a question if the bret hart screw job never happened and bret stayed in wwf would the starrcade 1997 Hogan vs Sting match have ended cleanly because the ending at starrcade was based on the ending of the screw job or would of wcw just of done somthing else to screw up the finshed of that match some other way (and I was a hugh WCW fan back in the day)

What if Austin got the wcw push who do you
think would been wwe star in the long run say if
hbk got hurt.
TruStory007 3 years ago

What do you think?
joshbradybuddy 3 years ago
Interesting scenario. Hogan bodyslamming Andre was THE key moment in that match, that show, maybe even in all of wrestling for it's time. Hogan just beating Andre period, though, would have been big in & of itself like you implied. BUT, as for Steamboat ever reaching Hogan-level status? I don't see it for him or ANYONE else(Snuka, Slaughter, whomever). The test for me, is put whomever literally in Hogan's shoes, on the Cheerios box, on Johnny Carson, etc. & I see no one working as Hogan did

What if shawn was leaving instead of bret how do you think wwf faired or if they never sign or push austin
TruStory007 3 years ago

Juonouchithepunk 3 years ago
Thanks for the questions. First of all, a WGA wouldn't affect wrestling at all(as we saw the last time it happened the other year), but even if it did, wrestling got along great(better, even) for over 70 years without TV writers, and even so they have a litany of agents(former wrestlers like Malenko, Hayes, Anderson, Steamboat, etc.) to fall back on so the product might actually IMPROVE, heh. As for Russo, he wouldn't ever be in ROH, but staying in WWE I see not affecting TNA at all. Thanks!

what if vince had kept wcw brand going instead of starting smackdown .He had a real good starting of a good storyline with shane supposedly buying it out from under him
captaintrippsky 3 years ago
Well, I don't think the Shane McMahon storyline was good, heh, but all the same, if McMahon had kept using the WCW name, I really don't see that much of a difference. Basically, considering how much McMahon likes to BRAND things to his own liking(see ECW), I would venture to guess that we'd pretty much have the exact same show(Smackdown) that we do now, except it'd be called WCW Smackdown. Purely in name in only. Just my guess. Thanks!

What if WWE was to take a hiatus. Wrestlemania could be their season finale
then they could come for Summerslam. All the

frothydrink 3 years ago
We've talked about advocating some sort of 'off-season' for WWE on a previous show, and Lance Storm just wrote a column about the different factors. I shed crocodile tears for WWE's revenue losses. Even if they took off several months, they'd still have plenty of revenue streams between merchandise & on-demand services. Nothing compared to 'on-season' sources like house shows, PPVs, TV time, etc. but better than nothing for a multi-million $ company that can afford it.

anyoneformoney 3 years ago
First of all, thanks! As for The Rock, we would've gotten the "Super Cena assault" as you call it regardless. And Orton, and Batista, and every other Chosen goofball. I don't see why Rock merely being there would've canceled their rise when so many like HHH, HBK, Undertaker, etc. were also around and WWE got what they wanted anyway. Rock was always jobbing anyway, so he would have put them ALL over, and done it first - unlike those three I mentioned ;) heh

Hope you guys come back soon!

Maybe. nWo 2000 probably would have faded out anyway, but Russo MIGHT not have gotten usurped so early, then the Radicalz would have stayed, maybe WCW would still exist! heh. MAYBE.

what if tna could learn how to book the talent they have?wait thats crazy.

haha, if they'd have been doing that for the past 6 years, then the wrestling landscape would probably look a lot different, a lot better. Hasn't happened yet!

just what if turner never sold wcw?
joerelle78 3 years ago
Well, it wasn't Turner who sold WCW first of all. That was AOL/Time Warner, Turner never wanted to sell WCW. But aside from specifics, I know your point was what if WCW was never sold, so let's discuss that. Had WCW stayed on the AOL/Time Warner portfolio, let's also assume Jaime Kellner would have allowed it to stay on TNT & TBS. Had that happened, it's entirely possibly WCW could have rebounded eventually by now 7 years later, or stayed stagnant as it was.

What if owen hart never died?
Would bret hart possibly of came back to wwe ( in a wrestling capacity) or possibly be involved in a tag team with owen?
