I have a cd of this playing over the top of the DJ and Capt Hartveld sending an SOS/MAYDAY when they had a bomb explode in the engine room 15/05/1971.Lovely to hear it again brings back happy memories of the pld pirate radio days was played tonight on BBC local radio by Keith Skues

What memories and how those two stations complemented each other both broadcasting their stuff at the right time of day.

@RCH Absolutely agree. I can't believe it was that long ago. BTW there is an online RNI which broadcasts live at weekends and recorded shows at other times. Three w's (dot) rni (dot) net (dot) ms and they still play Man of Action on the hour every hour, plus loads of the great tunes we used to listen to, coming from the Mebo II. Oh to be back in that time again. I wish!!!!

Hoe kwam het dat radio veronica populairder was dan radio noordzee? Ze hadden veel meer vermogen dus ze waren veel beter te horen in nederland!

veronica was meer op jongeren gericht met popmuziek, noordzee daarintegen was een familiezender met een breder publiek en andere muziek.

later ging rni ook meer voor een jonger publiek draaien en dat werd een bedreiging voor veronica, de beruchte bomaanslag was het gevolg, de antipiratenwet een uitvloeisel ervan
