  • Can anyone tell me how to stop cockatiels from laying eggs. I'm getting my male a mate but i'm really worried about the stress of eggs ... First i'd rather prevent it.. THEN... what if it is unfertilized? Will they be sad? What if it breaks? I'm so worried but i'm going to get the female anyway because I feel my cockatiel is a bit lonely and also I want to take this female away from her current home where she's always cooped up in the cage

  • @SK1081984 When it comes down to it, if they really want to breed they will. There are some things you can do though to help lessen the chances. For one thing, increased hours of daylight (even if it's dark outside and you have lights on inside) stimulates breeding, so it may be beneficial to cover their cage and give them sufficient hours of sleep. Also make sure they don't have anything like a box in the cage that would make for a nest.

  • Amazing :)

  • Looks just like my little Joey~ [Also a girl]

  • CAN YOU EMAIL ME ON HOW I CAN TRAIN MY BIRD BELLA SHE IS ONLY 2 MONTHS OLD. I LOVE TO HAVE HER DO TRICKS SUZANNE AT FLEISCHER@LIVE.COM THANKS

  • awh she looks like my cockatiel !

  • you call those tricks?

my bird holds two jobs, supports a family, and doesn't whine about wallstreet.

you liberals and you're lazy liberal pets.

just kidding, but seriously next time make sure you sign out of youtube or people could use your account to type weird things you don't wish to be associated with.

  • I like how short birds waddle.

  • lol! my cockatiel will probly very do this .:( talented bird!!!

  • For the retrieve i taught my bird to get the toy, (a similar ball to the one in your video) but she won't bring it back! BTW, I LOVE YOUR BIRD! In fact, I love all cockatiels! they're the best birds ever!

  • How did you trian her? I have a cockatiel and i trying to train him. By the Charlie is Adorable.

  • @534Laura i agree your little cockatiel is brilliant very clever . i love tiels too thier beautifull

  • I'm going to bring home a cockatiel soon. I might teach it to play fetch.

  • How old is she? How long did it take you to train her?

  • Wow!

  • Youre a nice trainer but i guess charlie is a she and not a he.

  • VERY SMART BIRD I HAVE 4.

  • awesome :D

  • @lisa91xox really thats amaing, how did you get it to do that,

as much detail as possible would be great

    thanks

  • Adorable!

  • thats really good, how do u get her 2 do the tricks in the 1st place

  • that looks a little like mine.... mine is a female Whiteface pearl pied cockatiel. She's so cute <3

  • Your birdie is so precious and so very well trained!!

  • you are a good trainer 8)

  • so how do you teach these tricks? my bird does the circles one but i wanna teach him(male budgie) the others. any tips? he already kisses on command and comes when called (well usually).

  • No sound? But we can't hear the cute click-clacking of his little feet!

  • Wonderful! She enjoys doing it, too. I like how she picks up a few extra grains of millet before going on to the next feat. It's like she's rewarding herself.

You might like the bird vids on my channel, too.

  • Its a girl (; looks like my Tøffen. very sweet

  • im amazed i did my research on cockatiels before i got my baby and females are far more harder to work with since they are more stubborn than the males. i got a male that just refuses to stop whistling and apparently only says 'good boy' when people arent paying attention to him

  • How do you teach her to do that!?!

  • To the person below me, i have a very similar looking cockatiel which is a female with very red cheeks, so you are wrong. How long did it take you to teach her these tricks? I have a 2 year old and she cant really do many tricks besides fly to her cage when i say go home. Any tips/tricks?

  • ah, smart! birds will do anything for spray millet!

  • @pengeralus yeah Millet Spray is a nice treat

  • thats cute

  • hi... i wanna ask that how can i train my cockatiel to sit on my hand??? brought it few weeks ago!

  • That's so cute!

  • LMAO she pooped in 0:12

  • adorable!!! really cool!!

  • Um Yeah read the side note! I mention she's a girl!! But yeah she's a cutie!!!!

  • @kellymaree1307 as with all birds there is no difference between males and females :D as much as i have read about males being the better of the two, there is no comparison between them its pretty much same with human's you get some macho egotistic male saying they are the dominant and supiriour race but yeah thats cuz they like it up the ass. beautiful bird :D

  • umm.....HE IS SSOO ADORABLE! but um...shes a girl.....

  • bring the ball back was pretty cool

  • did you hand rare your bird get it from a breeder or from a petshop just wondering

  • Cool

  • how do u train a cockatiel to do that

  • thats really hard to do cause female parrots are often more reluctant to do tricks

  • Where do you actually base that claim? Currently I'm teaching different tricks to my cockatiel that is female and I don't have any problems.

  • Aww! Teach her some more and post them. :) It'd be cool to see her learn some more. I'm trying to teach my Bella to bring me the ball like that but she is scared of the balls with the bells like that. We just started training thow, im teaching her to bring me all the buttons, instead. she likes those.

  • what a cute bird talented too

  • amazing.

  • very talented bird!

  • That's so cute.

  • i just got a new cockaiel and it hasnt said anything in the 2 days i've bought him. i dont mean human language i mean squaking and chirping help me please

  • lol, im no way an expert in cockatiels, but maybe he is still getting used to his surroundings and people around him, he is probably still nervous about the events that have happened to him (new surroundings), this could be the reason for it, hope it helps :P

  • it seems you've all heard it before. but yes it acutally WILL TAKE ONE MONTH before hes calm "etc etc".

no it cannot be possibly less, unless you speak bird.

Also talking is an extravagant talent. not all birds can do it. although all birds can do other amazing things as well, take time and discover them :)

  • if the bird is hand tamed when you got him he/she could be out of the cage in days or weeks!

  • wow absolutely brilliant!

  • She is absolutely PRECIOUS!!!! =)!!

  • wow thats sooo cool.. lol o i have a few out in the aviary... started with three got a heap now... i want to hand rear one.. but yeah maybe when i finish hsc.. :) but thats sco clever.. very clever girl.

PS: i have that exact same couch!

  • She still looks like a baby! Smart girl though. Most of us hate our voices, but remember 99% don't know you personally and wouldn't pay any attention to your voice. We all hear voices (apart from the hearing-impared) every day. Do you really think someone would post 'awe so cute but I hated her voice'. That would never happen. You need confidence. You have an adorable bird and for that we love you. Have faith in yourself. Take it from me, I sound like a smurf! (hence the name).

  • WOW! Charlie so pretty smart! I have 2cockatiel. I tried teach Tricks my birds are lazy! good Job!

  • i got a tiel named charlie hes a boy

  • cute bird!

  • i love that bird!

  • She is pretty unique.

  • @kellymaree1307 Is she dead or something, it sounds and looks a bit like a tribute to your "Beloved Cockatiel" ( Not that you don't love her of course!)

  • hey that ball is like my cockatielS toy ball

  • thats so awesome!!

    so cute ^^

  • Charlie is adorable. Very smart bird. :)

  • its a female

  • hey, females do have the cheek patches their just usually lighter then males, generally females have spots under their flight feathers and bars on their tail feathers, which males do not have. so i'm pretty sure she's a girl, plus all her behaviours point toward girl. Thanks for the comment though.

  • @kellymaree1307 YEA YEA YEA!!!! LOL SHE IS EATING MILLET CRUMBS OFF THE TABLE ROFLMAO

  • @martha4animal cockatiels have red cheeks wether they are males or females

  • @martha4animal it is still a girl girls just dont have that much yellow. But they still have orange cheeks.

  • @martha4animal not to mention the yellow head XD

  • @martha4animal wow. really? you should totaly host your own nature show:

"that frog is male because it's GREEN." or "that bear is male because it can catch fish." seriously though. please read up on your facts before you go tell the world osama bin laden lives in your house.

  • @warofthewalruses Whaha jeze dude,

i was like 13 back then, i didnt know anything about those bird, but i had one of my own, and i thougt that it was a fact that when they had red cheeks they always are males. becouse thats what the breeder has told me when i bought my birdy.

    Funny responce though. xD

  • @4animalZ sry. didn't want to offend you.

  • @martha4animal if it has a mostly yellow head its a male

  • @martha4animal no its a female. a male will have a yello head with two red cheeks

  • @martha4animal how is it a female females have red cheeks look it up

  • @brownbuo No cockatiels have red cheeks, they are orange :)

  • @martha4animal

Males faces (ones of this colour mutation anyway) go bright yellow, this is defs a girl bird ^.^

  • you are a really good trainer and i personally wish you and charli all the best.... by the way where did u get the clicker

  • I got my clicker from ebay. i got a pack of 4 for like $3, pretty cheap. But i'm sure you can get them from most pet shops.

  • very good girl !!

  • wow how did you do that

  • it took alot of patience!!! I use a training technique called "clicker training' She loves doing it because she gets her favoriate food Millet!!! But she's still just at the beginning and has alot to learn.
