  • Great stuff Mon! No WAY would I have been sober enough to operate anything more complex than a pipe......Keep the Faith!!

  • Holy shit, where did you get these videos??? Awesome!!

  • i'm 16. i own the All the World's A Stage cd. it is absolutely amazing.

  • Holy crap, is this the only footage with sound from the Caress of Steel tour?

  • @Ryu12543 Well, actually, the audio is the only thing really there; these are video images from around that time .. not even clos to lip-synching .. lol but it got the spacey part in the middle

  • see? worst recording in the world, and still is the best. it's like i don't even care, cuz it's fucking EPIC playing...don't care how "bad" the recording....

    THAT'S good music.....

sweet for we who were too young to see 'em at this time. thanks for the upload!!

  • @mcul2112 That's Rush for ya :)

  • Thanks for the upload! (From your ultimate Rush Fan!)

  • The video isn't perfect, but very VINTAGE ! I love you for posting it !!!

  • It is the Caress Tour. Look at 5:46-47. Caress Album appears on screen.

  • Really great post!!! An awesome look at early 'Rush'!!! Seem like they were a bit heavier back then. Thx 4 sharing.

  • This is some awesome footage! I love it! ....The guy he keeps yelling "GEDDY" keeps cracking me up XD

  • Great FUCKING footage!!!!!!!!!!! THANKS

  • This isn't from "All the world's a stage"...must have been a little earlier....The "All the world's a stage" album is Rush, at their heaviest. An awesome record.

  • This is the Caress tour. Or " Down the Tubes Tour" according to the guys in the band.

  • This is about as bad as bootleg tapes get,and I love it. What does a band sound like when they don't know there being taped? Answer: RUSH does'nt do bad shows. I LOVE RUSH. Fan since November 1978. Thank you XanaduRush

  • "GEDDY!"

  • I liked rush all the way through to moving pictures(1980).My fav albums are Carress of steel and 2112.When signals came out.I was shocked at the pop sounding songs on that record.I hated it.I havent liked anything they have done since.I still go see them live though. great band

  • @smithdsmit: You don't like Analog Kid, Cut to the Chase, Secret Touch, Earthshine, Malignant Narcissism? These masterpieces came after Moving Pictures.

  • @Armando2012102

this is Vintage Lifeson right here

  • @smithdsmit

5:50 sounds like a Nightmare , fucking creepy

  • @LegPains .. yeah!! Alex doing that shit with his guitar is what made me do it!!! Awesome stuff!!!

  • @smithdsmit even though there was a lot of synth in the 80's like other music, but I found the way they put it to use completleyamazing, unlike the way others were doing it

  • who is singing?

  • @tlando GEDDY!!!!!!!

  • @AlesandroMoon

how amazing is the middle part of the song

  • @tlando

who are the Morons talking in the background ?

  • hellleaux tobes 2010 bugs

  • Alex Lifeson'z guitar, AMAZING

Wicked powerchordz, trippy psychedelix in the middle

  • 5:00 makes me laugh lol

... *BUM BUM BUM* *quiet* GEDDY! *BUM BUM BUM* *quiet* GEDDY! that's awesome.

  • sounds like teenages in the video

  • @AlesandroMoon yeah they were only like 20 or 21

  • After All the worlds a Stage Rush turned into a totally different band. Just listen to the stuff they did in the 80s. They were no longer a rock band but new wave. They sounded just like the Police...

  • after all ther worlds a stage they put out farewell to kings, hemispheres, permant waves, moving pictures, ect.plus they never have sounded like the police.regetta de blanc, means white reggea.the police had a reggea style.rush never had a reggea style, only song to have reggea riff is digital man.check it out.peace.

  • hey mdelair, doesn't spirit of radio just have a little bit of reggae? I disagree with alternative 3d too though. :)

  • That's the stupidest shit I've ever heard.

  • 6:00 ff cool whale song sounds very cool part here

  • Oh there must be a full proper recording on film not just a cine 8 camera of By Tor, as it was around the All the worlds is when they started to cut it back to a shorter version.

  • Awesome...This is how I remember RUSH. Everything they did after All the Worlds a Stage sucked.

  • SUCKED? Woah woah woah. How do you figure?

  • This is BS. None of the video has any relation to the audio. Their clothes and the stage keep changing - this is just an old live recording of music with unrelated clips pasted in.

  • @CaseModVideos so? why does that make it BS? do you have better footage of rush from the 70s?

  • oh oh, what a old record???? thank´s for post, surprise for me...

  • Geddy fucking Lee.....

  • This footage is pretty friggen awesome. I'd love to see more from this era. You can see the energy and youth in this balls-to-the-wall jamfest of yesteryear. I mean... Yeah. Just watch Geddy tear that bass up, man. It's almost comforting to know that theres still stuff out there I haven't seen yet. Hopefully it will all eventually surface so us young people get a chance to really see what they were all about before they became a superband.

Haha. "Us young people". I'm like... 41. D'oh!

  • I know bro...Then you watch stuff from say the Grace Under Pressure tour..and you're like...WTF happened to these guys!???! This IS where they belong!!

    \m/ \m/ \m/

  • Haha. That's funny that you brought up Grace Under Pressure. That was like... their tenth album or something. Even ten albums was unheard of at that time. I remember thinking then that they've been around longer than most bands and were starting to fizzle out. I really thought that P/G was gonna be their last album. Can you believe that was 25 years ago? Holy eff.

Yeah. Big difference between All the Worlds a Stage and Grace Under Pressure.

But if they didn't change, they wouldn't still be here.

  • No shit man..and that was like 85' LOL!! And the thing is...they really started to come back! Really with Counterparts 93' They began to minimize the synths and reclaim the guitar-power trio they once were. Of course it's in different style/form/ with the times..but I dig it! I loved Snakes! There's SOO much going on with musical textures and diversity, you can't gain it all in one listen! And THAT's what Rush is all about!! \m/ \m/ \m/

  • shure this is in 76?

  • Wow, this is really fantastic to see. Thank you..

  • they never played the freaky horror type sounding stuff in the Middle of the song anymore after the Late 70s

  • Yeah, too bad, Lifeson was an ace playing that stuff...me tho' I see the wolf-dog stalking thru a glacial landscape

  • Rush all day baby!

  • Lol. At those 70's "Give 'er" comments.

  • So Rush is not in the Hall of Fame because why?

  • Haha. Rush and we fans reject the RnR hall of fame.. Rush is too good for that sh!t.

  • how much would u luv to Punch the morons in the face who are talking over the song in the crowd ?

  • Yes, Acebaker911. I say a good punch in the face is in order.

And after that... We can set them on fire.

  • i agree

  • Because that Hall of Fame nonsense is run by musically illiterate imbeciles.

  • lol

Oh i just realized the video doesnt fit the song, no problem

    just hearing this is great

  • looks like old ww2 footage

  • This band kicks so much ass. It's not fair to all other fledgling bands!

Sucks for you, Fall Out Boy!

  • Ha!

    Who's fallout boy?

  • No one worth remembering!

  • Which boot is this from?

Aud recordings have definitely improved since the '70s.

I love Alex's answer to Jimmy Page's "bow section" in the middle of this song. It sounds like he is "bowing" the guitar without actually using one.

** "gawd, my ears are ringing" **

  • i have this vinyl

  • really? when was this released on vinyl?

  • dookie

  • fuckin lop

  • audio and video couldn't be worse, but its classic rush and it gets 19 stars.

  • Neil is The fast drummers of world. This video rare 1976

  • It's too bad there is no higher quality footage of Rush doing a complete from the 2112 era. I mean look at these guys. Holy shite! They are just ripping it up on stage. Alex is a wildman on his Gibsons.

  • Oh BTW It's Bytor and the Snowdog!

  • No, it is By-Tor & The Snow Dog.

  • snowdog is not a word and neither bytor

its by-tor and the snow dog

  • footage does suck and audio is even worse! But it is Rush and Rush Rules!

  • ... not real footage, but nice audio

  • Only a Rush nut would love......and LOVE we do. Classic.

  • awesome thx

  • 7:38 after Neils fill, just before Lifesons solo, Alex holds this awesome sustained note. Beautiful, classic Rush.

  • ya. I listened to it again. what a tasty fukking note. Lifeson's brilliant

  • It skips most of the cool parts of the solo.. I had this on vinyl in highschool
