i have a 3.5 coupe and raced a srt the other day, same thing happened. around 4th gear the srt's start pulling away. and we actually raced either further. he was 4 car lengths ahead when he hit 5th
I have a N2MB wot box, allowing constant shifting without even letting off the gas. As you press the clutch it cuts the power so your synchros can mesh together effortlessly(think shifting with car off). I just had the power cut to about 2 seconds. I lowered it already though, huge difference.
Nissan confirmed that the CVT tranny will take 400+ hp and there is a guy in san diego currently installing a Turbo kit on his 3.5se with CVT. it's not the tranny that has issues, it's the tune. go look at the SE-R Altimas, the automatics even get slow at high speeds because the ECU in the autos don't allow full throttle past 90 MPH.... it just needs a tune real bad

Nah I don't think so. Soon as I hit about 4k in 3rd and WOT into 4th and pulled like 1/2 to 3/4 a car then I think you let off then. The other race I let off before you and it took you like 3 seconds to pass me lol. Hella good run though.
Because you can tell you didn't let off, your front was exactly in the middle of my car, by top of 2nd I was already going faster than you, I hella pulled lol.

That's typical for an Altima V6+CVT combo they all top off once real speed picks up, that tranny wasn't really made for racing.
SRT-4 could have shifted a little better too but looks like it didnt need too after a certain point.
