Given what is happening to the US - broad, rapid and massive shift towards the return of McCarthyism and the Salem witch trials - I can actually see the US trying to attack Canada at some point in the future (though possibly a couple centuries from now, when they finally are back in the dark ages).

Given the sheer amount of power the American military has, and their willingness to use it regardless of cost, I suspect they would lay waste to Canada before they could be stopped by others.
