Sounds like the hard drive has a cheap sleeve bearing and motor driver, just like the ones on the video spinner I'm working on, which makes the same noise at the same speed.

The computer weighs close to 50 pounds, doesn't it? That's some hard-core computing:)

I highly doubt the video was uploaded using the computer in question, it just wouldn't happen on that computer.

its freakin sweet pc man. I liek the turn on switch too bad we dont have those nowadays. An the monitor switch at the back of the machine. I really like the sounds at boot up too. Really nice vintage pc. And to boot up its like GRUB man.

I had two of those!! they are both dead now tho. Quite a hardcore mobo in them actually! One of the the floppy controler went so i smashed the crap out of it and even after that when i repaired two broken tracks on the board it still booted!!! albeit with some graphical corruption.

Ah... The 286. My first computer... I remember spending $3700 for one back in 87. I believe model 30 was the 30MB hard drive. OOOOOOH! 30MB! Now we have OS's that take up 20GB on their own! Thanks for bringing me back to the good ol days.

that i recently replaced is original prossesor by a AMD am386 40MHz

10MB Ram, an a 500Mb HDD with windows NT 3.5

Even it could run win 95.
