Apparently, Michael Nesmith wrote this about the riots on the Sunset Strip in 1966 or '67.
Wikipedia says this is possibly (and their use of that word indicates there is some disagreement over this) the very first pop song featuring a Moog. It also says Micky Dolenz was only the third person to own one.
It's so funny, I haven't heard this since I watched my monkees vhs with this on it.The lyrics are neat, and I like how Peter's doing different movements, I like this video oh so much
Oh shit. I didn't even notice Mike at the back until about halfway through the song. For one he's like a fucking statue back there, and two Peter with his little arm-wavey-thing was just to cute and distracting :)
This song should of been released as a single along with "Love is Only Sleeping",They would have gone top 10 without a doubt,They where the first to use the moog synthesizer on a pop record then The Beatles followed a year later when they recorded the white album.
great audio and the black and white fits- as in the first few lines on the song.."...of no color...",thumbs up,favorited, subscribed, shared to facebook...:) krazm enserfud:)
Very Very Nice!!!!!! This sounds so much different than the oher one that was uploaded on youtube. I think the other video might have been warped so its good to hear this original! Thank you so much for uploading this!
Really nice transfers! Would be great if you could upload the version of SHE HANGS OUT at the end of SOME LIKE IT LUKE WARM... I love the way the band goofs around on that one. TKS!
Hit that pipe at the end Peter!

I used to think that the Monkees were just a stupid TV band. This song made me respect them, it's really well written and trippy as fuck haha
