Actually, if you ingest something or get it injected, it really doesn't matter. They both end up at the same place, your blood. When food/drink goes down the esophagus it goes through the stomach and then the small intestine. In the small intestine, chyme (your food from the stomach) will be absorbed by villi and microvilli into the blood and to feed other cells.

Like any manufacturer if their product is found to be faulty, sales drop, share value drops, investors pull out and they go bust. They have every incentive to be sure their vaccines are as safe and effective as possible. They have children and grandchildren who get vaccines too.
