As long as a thermal specialist is doing it. I recommend that you have at least 3 inches of regrowth

@FoamBear Yes there can be damage if done by someone who has no experience. This is not your adverage perm. It can take ,any where between 4-8 hours to do. Any chemical can cause damage if not done properly, I agree. I guess what I should be saying is, it's not as strong as a sodium hydroxide relaxer & will give you better results. With TR I can adress the hair's porosity so much easier , so it helps prevent the stylist from over processing & over lapping.

Can you have this treatment done if you already have a relaxer?

blissfulkris As far as I know I am the only stylist doing this technique. We don't want stylist or clients doing this service without proper training, it can cause alot of damage if done by an unexpericed stylist. I am having my first class in March ifyou know someone that might be interested in learning my technique.

I have been natural for a year now, please tell me about this!! does it damage your hair like a relaxer? How often should i get touch ups? What kind of chemical is this?

@temickab Thermal recondition is called recondition, because over time your hair will become healthier and with the added protein the hair will grow thicker because the breakage will stop. The touch up depends on your curl pattern~ how well you can blow out and straighten the roots when they grow in~ usually anywhere between 4 months to a year. Keep in mind there will be no breakage at the line of demarcation as with a sodium relaxer. It is Thio based, same base as a curl hair perm.
