we need to pay small artists or they will starve and mass media and censorship will thrive...torrents or no torrents :(

Perhaps the reason for being paid should be changed?

File sharing has levelled the playing field for bands. No longer are they prevented from releasing a song because of money. I will still buy good music, but I wont be made to pay for "filler" on albums or rubbish. The only bands against this are the dinosaurs who cant be bothered working anymore and rely only on royalties. In any other industry, they would have been made redundant years ago.
