I believe that you can restore teachers and leaders of the Church. However, I must also assert that this only happens over a long period of time, and with a proven track record. Bentley too does not meet these standards set forth in Timothy. He was rushed back into ministry. Bentley is not being "persecuted" as he claims in the video. Galatians 2:11-21, “But when Peter was come to Antioch, I withstood him to the face, because he was to be blamed." Public sin was publicly rebuked. a once well known preacher from tv came to a church and prayed over my pastor's wife, ill from cervical cancer. it was at this full gospel church that hosted his visit. i literally gasped loudly when he placed his hand on her belly and called out that she would bear more children when both my friend and i just knew she was on her way to the lord. within a yr or 2 she died. i regret not standing up and calling him out as a false prophet - i was too afraid of what others would think at the time.

@1992Gerwin1992 Not one of those pastors that stood up and openly rebuked Mr. Bentley ever said that God couldn't forgiver him of his sin. They were calling him to repent of his sin and find forgiveness. Perhaps it would behoove you to watch this video more closely and really pay attention to what is said by those who rebuked him. If you remember in Scripture (read II Samuel chapters 11 and 12), the prophet Nathan confronted King David in this same manner.

Chapter 11 refers to David's sin with Bathsheba and his subsequent attempts to hide his sin using Bathsheba's husband Uriah the Hittite and eventually setting him up to be killed in battle. Chapter 12 deals with Nathan's confronting David about his sin, and David's repentance. What you are seeing in this video is completely Biblical.

We are instructed as Christians to beable to judge our brothers and sisters in Christ when they are, especially, heads of ministry and falling in sin as well as leading many astray. These faithful men of God were only obeying the word. If he cared he would have listened to what they said and obeyed the spirit but he knew he was wrong and was guilty, if he wasnt they wouldnt have been there in the first place.
This is amazing......Why we don't see this happen by faithful Christians more often is beyond me. Todd Bentley is simply a pawn of something bigger, and God is lovingly calling him to repent publicly. He said "I can't hear you" because he won't. His ears are closed to the truth. It can be embarrassing in a setting like this, but this is just one of MANY opportunities for Mr. Bentley to repent. To be a false teacher is a very dangerous occupation.

I am no fan of Todd Bentley, or any television ministers in general. I have one question, and it may be total ignorance on my part, but shouldn't Matt. 18:15-17 be the way that this should have been handled? I don't think that this behavior, even though meant well, was appropriate. You can judge what I am saying by asking any of the people who were a part of this public rebuking whether or not they went to Todd and confronted him privately first the way the bible instructs us to. @randallgormanjr Attempts were made by several ministries to reprove Todd Bentley privately. None succeeded. Therefore, public rebuking was in order as instructed in 1 Tim. 5:20. It's a shame that he refuses to repent. One thing this video shows very clearly is how the goats outnumber the sheep in what passes for Christianity today. Absolutely shocking- He has got the nerve to laugh and make fun of the Word of God, and not address what he is being rebuked for!!!!!! I believe a humble servant of God, would call the rebuking brother on stage and let him say his piece,and then answer to what has been said. We need to wake up church!!!! This is a man who "God" told to "Kick a woman in the face." sounds like the work of Yahweh, creator of all things to me. ( I mean this in the most sarcastic way possible.) These people needed to hear this. I applaud the people who came out and rebuked Todd, because hopefully they planted some seeds of doubt in the audience.
Watching this video it seems as if he was trying to ignore the rebuker exposing him for his sin and the way he ignored it sounds as if he was trying to deny the fact that he has sin. And The Bible makes it very clear as to what it says about those who deny who have sin:
1 John 1:8-If we claim to be without sin, we deceive ourselves and the truth is not in us.
Even public rebuke is done in an orderly fashion, at least these men of God had the courage to stand up and publicly rebuke Tod out of love. At least they didn't conform to the crowd who just laughed it off and scorned the rebuke. May God have mercy on everyone here who scorned the rebuke as well as the preacher letting him live in a sin that can send someone straight to hell.

I believe that you can restore teachers and leaders of the Church. However, I must also assert that this only happens over a long period of time, and with a proven track record. Bentley too does not meet these standards set forth in Timothy. He was rushed back into ministry. Bentley is not being "persecuted" as he claims in the video. Yeah, the apostle Paul gave several times in his epistles descriptions of those who sought to be elders in the church. "Of good reputation" was one item on that list. He also gave a list of sins that "shouldn't even be named once among you". Sexual sin was one on that list... Conclusion: If you've been involved in sexual sin after salvation, you have NO business being any person of authority in the church! You are neither of 'good repute' and fornication IS once named among you.

The word of G-d is fit for teaching, CORRECTION, and reproof. Did not Paul rebuke Peter? Galatians 2:11-21, “But when Peter was come to Antioch, I withstood him to the face, because he was to be blamed." Public sin was publicly rebuked. It should be done this way, especially when committed by those of prominence lest others think that sin is not sin. Prominent brethren can lead weaker brethren astray.

Denial of these things will not release mercy and grace. Let's see what the Bible has to say about divorce. In Matthew 5:32, Jesus says that divorce is not allowed, unless one party has committed marital unfaithfulness. This implies that the one who was sinned against can be married--it would be silly to suggest that Jesus ..

They were calling him to repent of his sin and find forgiveness. Perhaps it would behoove you to watch this video more closely and really pay attention to what is said by those who rebuked him. If you remember in Scripture (read II Samuel chapters 11 and 12), the prophet Nathan confronted King David in this same manner.

The way he responded to those trying to rebuke him with total disdain and lack of respect, then playing the "I'm being persecuted" card. I still maintain that what these men of God did was completely Biblical. Jesus Himself called for it in Matthew 18:15-17. Read it for yourself. If Bentley didn't listen to Jones or Joyner's rebukes, then it was proper and fitting to rebuke him in a public setting.

exactly. and you know what, I like this church, they have a great ministry, the youth are involved they teach from the word of God. There is just one thing I do not agree with, which I would personally like to ask the pastor Rick Joyner, a question, which is: why there is a member of his church that goes around telling people that Baptism is not a part of salvation, why people can choose not to be baptized.

Chapter 11 refers to David's sin with Bathsheba and his subsequent attempts to hide his sin using Bathsheba's husband Uriah the Hittite and eventually setting him up to be killed in battle. Chapter 12 deals with Nathan's confronting David about his sin, and David's repentance. What you are seeing in this video is completely Biblical.

We are instructed as Christians to beable to judge our brothers and sisters in Christ when they are, especially, heads of ministry and falling in sin as well as leading many astray. These faithful men of God were only obeying the word. If he cared he would have listened to what they said and obeyed the spirit but he knew he was wrong and was guilty, if he wasnt they wouldnt have been there in the first place.

This is amazing......Why we don't see this happen by faithful Christians more often is beyond me. Todd Bentley is simply a pawn of something bigger, and God is lovingly calling him to repent publicly. He said "I can't hear you" because he won't. His ears are closed to the truth. It can be embarrassing in a setting like this, but this is just one of MANY opportunities for Mr. Bentley to repent. To be a false teacher is a very dangerous occupation.

Instead of posting criticisms of Todd on Youtube, why don't you folk go to church this next Sunday, find the first divorced couple you see, then start yelling at them saying that they are adulterers and out of God's will, (you could even quote scripture if you you like). It is true that we should love others, but we cannot ignore the fact that this preacher is leading people astray with his false doctrine. If a minister is out of line, he needs to be lovingly confronted. This guy just refuses to admit that what he's doing is wrong. I would guess that most Christians aren't as upset that he holds these false views personally, but that he's passing them off as God's truth and leading others astray.

Pray without ceasing, in all things give thanks for this is the will of God in Christ Jesus concerning you. Don't get distracted by what people do or don't do. Stay focused on Christ and make sure you are representing Him in all you say and do.

I am no fan of Todd Bentley, or any television ministers in general. I have one question, and it may be total ignorance on my part, but shouldn't Matt. 18:15-17 be the way that this should have been handled? I don't think that this behavior, even though meant well, was appropriate. You can judge what I am saying by asking any of the people who were a part of this public rebuking whether or not they went to Todd and confronted him privately first the way the bible instructs us to. Just a thought!

@randallgormanjr Attempts were made by several ministries to reprove Todd Bentley privately. None succeeded. Therefore, public rebuking was in order as instructed in 1 Tim. 5:20. It's a shame that he refuses to repent. One thing this video shows very clearly is how the goats outnumber the sheep in what passes for Christianity today. "On that day, many will say to Me, Lord Lord..."

Maybe I've been having too many discussions with atheists and it's coming off in my writing, lol. I don't know the specifics, but I do recall church leadership saying private attempts were made. This is a man who "God" told to "Kick a woman in the face." sounds like the work of Yahweh, creator of all things to me. ( I mean this in the most sarcastic way possible.) These people needed to hear this. I applaud the people who came out and rebuked Todd, because hopefully they planted some seeds of doubt in the audience.

Watching this video it seems as if he was trying to ignore the rebuker exposing him for his sin and the way he ignored it sounds as if he was trying to deny the fact that he has sin. And The Bible makes it very clear as to what it says about those who deny who have sin:
1 John 1:8-If we claim to be without sin, we deceive ourselves and the truth is not in us.

Even public rebuke is done in an orderly fashion, at least these men of God had the courage to stand up and publicly rebuke Tod out of love. At least they didn't conform to the crowd who just laughed it off and scorned the rebuke. May God have mercy on everyone here who scorned the rebuke as well as the preacher letting him live in a sin that can send someone straight to hell.

You are not God and you can't see into the hearts of man, therefore you have no right to play judge and jury on a man's life. He may have repented, but it sounds like you are trying to decide what he should do after repentance and are tagging him based on his sin. If you were to read the word, it states there is NO condemnation for those who are in Christ Jesus.
