I have a '99 Dakota with a V6 (the model with the nice wide wheels)... I've been considering swapping the engine out for a 408, but I'd probably be better off just finding an R/T on ebay or something.

I did some home modifications to give it more horsepower, and I use Royal Purple oil... Also increased horsepower. :) It can break the tires loose taking off, last time it did that was when it was new.

99 w/ OBDII tuned&programmed static tune (uncontrollable). Add stroke, SC, + add ons more fuel pressure and ignition control is needed especially in diff weather. Ign provides retard proportional to boost when SC kicks positive pressure. Also, can tune from cab dep on the fuel choice and has rev limit tied into line locks for burnouts. Waste of money? I would beg to differ :)

@krypt2nite18 - That's fine, I have the Crane ignition box with the rev limiter too. What happens when one of your injectors goes static though? BOOM! That's what happens. And how much are you asking of your stock injectors? Probably way more than they can handle. I have Ford Motorsport 42lb injectors on my supercharged 5.9. SCT controls the ignition timing retard appropriately to boost via a 2 bar MAP sensor. SCT controls all the stuff your extra crazy FMU setup does. You should look into it

@fictioussentiment - Its not running stock fuel injectors. And the static tune is a base tune which does not mean the fuel pressure or flow rate is static (only after positive pressure). It is still controlled by pcm and assisted with FMU based on pressure.

All I'm trying to say is that you are using OLD TECHNOLOGY! No one uses FMU setups anymore. Know why? Because of advancements in technology and the ability to tune everything with larger injectors and the SCT software tuner. It's all in the OBDII computer. You're using OBD1 technology my friend. It idles at 800rpm? whenever you keep fuel injection with supercharged it wont have a throaty/ almost stalling type of cam... hence it is computer controlled so its always adjusting and correcting ignition and fuel...

wow im sorry but whatever anyone else says on this vid is nuts, that 408 is tuned near perfection, MrAllStar, you obviously know nothing of M.P.I. think about it, if you mod one to this extent such as uping compression with aftermark pistons and adding on top of that the supercharger, then the injectors and throttle body, even with a computer upgrade its not going to be right when it trys to read o2's, so im sure his check engine light will be on.

No dyno yet, still have lots of add-ons to go... but this thing right now is nasty, I have built many motors and this just has such a different feel, yea KRC does some great work, some of my internals are different than there set-ups and I am running a bit higher compression due to the forged internals... cant wait for the long tube headers to be done, i will have some more videos when i am done...
