  • A Stephen Stills box set coming next year. People will finally 'get it.' His creativity was sort of short-lived, but it was amazing while it lasted.

  • summer 1968 sonoma ca. adic dropped on vitamin c tab . too cool and trippy.

  • Top 50 album, no doubt. They shoulda got Butterfield to play harp on it, though.

    I was amazed

  • Season Of The Witch [Album Version] - Steve Stills;Al Kooper - 1969 - "AMG Pick. Al Kooper and company easily slipped it into a hard, slow soul-fried groove that was only hinted at in the (brilliant) original. ...underpinning the groove and rhythm with a solid sense of funk, without resorting to histrionics." - Rare & Well Done: The Greatest And Most Obscure Recordings 1964-2001 (Well Done) (Columbia/Legacy) (Disc 2)-2001.

  • #1 master of the wawa pedal , bar none.

  • @detweilcny and the organ work don't exactly suck, either!

  • @detweilcny and Mr. Brooks plays a MEAN bass and that drummer is tight!

  • Ya think Steve Stills can't play no guitar??? Whatch'a think now?? Hmmmm??

  • 최고 앨범!!!

The best album ever I have!!!

  • Mike Bloomfield (guitar, side 1;), Steve Stills (side 2), Harvey Brooks (bass), Al Kooper (vocals, piano, organ, ondioline, six-string guitar, and twelve-string guitar), Eddie Hoh (drums, percussion), Horn section: unknown session players.

  • man, this album changed my life when i was 15.....great stuff

  • Thanks TumbrelJockey, who plays the great wah-wah guitars? Imagine Super Session, Bloomfield, Kooper, Stills with Glen Miller Big Band, live at Carnegie Hall?

This version of Season Of The Witch is my favorite classic of all the time.

  • tasty! this takes me back... beautiful music is beautiful music

  • This is one of the greatest albums ever...timeless. It always takes me back to the beginning of my Hippy daze...Stills on one side,Bloomfield on the other, and Al Kooper,(a relatively unknown, and underrated keyboardist)...doesn't get any better than this.

Too bad youtube didn't allow the full time to play all...only about a minute more...oh well. Nice pick anyway.

  • I just found this on vinyl. Kicks ass!!

  • oh very strange wright now! great wah wah guitar mus be the season of the witch. Great Jam Super Session, hammond power, drums, bass, the Big Band, the solo duo voice with organ...who plays organ? No credits for the members of brass session Big Band?

  • @Bakunin53 The Tower of Power horns were "go to" session players on a number of the major artists solo efforts.Traffic's Winwood played B3 for Hendrix on "Ladyland".Buddy Miles or Jim Keltner might have been on drums.Steven Stills would play bass at times- even Bloomfield -but the rhythm section just seems to know the other so well here to be "travelling all stars".Hat's off to the guys in the trenches though -whoever they were..

  • @Bakunin53 Kooper was on keyboards .

  • Ain't no doubtaboutit. This is and forever will be some heavy-duty stuff. It'll be interesting and cool material fer' many gens to groove on. Thanks, fellas'! B.
