I have 2 of these that I bought used to replace an existing faulty annunciator. When I connect one to the 4020 control panel all I get is the same response of "system startup in progress" and it really doesn't go any further. It doesn't seem to be able to communicate with the main panel. Is there some sort of programming or other initialization process that needs to be done?
You don't have the proper panel for it, and since the key enables global controls to control the panel, you don't really need the key anyway because you can still press the buttons and it will beep at you.
No, this isn't a panel. It's just an annunciator that allows for basic system functions (acknowledge, silence, and reset), as well a 4 customizable functions. These are hooked up to the main FACP, and in this one's case, it's only compatable with the Simplex 4020, 4100, 4100+, 4120, or 4100U series of FACPs.
I want one of these. I know it would be useless because I don't have the panels that support it, and the panels that support it need that weird programming software... but it looks so much fun to press the buttons and it buzzes =]
You can't do a thing with this if it's not hooked up to an alarm system and no, it's impossible to hack it to be the main alarm system because there's no NACs or IDCs - all it has is a 24v power input and a data input, which comes from the main FACP.
i saw this thing once, at the middle school i went to a few years ago, and it was a map thing, connected right beneath an annunciator. this map thing was like a foot and a half square, and it was a map of the school, with little LED's on every classroom. ive never seen one anywhere else
I've seen that Simplex annunciator at the Brockton Hospital and the South Junior High School. I think they both have Simplex 4100U systems (the hospital has 4903-9150 speaker/strobes and LifeAlarm speakers on 2903 retrofit plates; the school has TrueAlert speaker/strobes)
How can I set the output voltage for the horn circuit on the Fire Lite MS-4424B? My Specter Alert sounds like crap because it's being overpowered..........

@pulaski26608 possibly programming the panel, but IDK for sure, as I'm not a tech, lol.

Just to be informed: Is the key-lock easy to pick ?

My mind is too simple.

why do u like fire drills. There scary!
turbozonda 3 years ago
They're called fire alarms. And they're not scary.
You just need to have the interest.

I'm afraid of them too. I like it if I know exactly when the alarm will go off, but if not, I'm a nervous wreck.

that is cool.
and i may be getting my first panel soon. it will be a Silent Knight 5024. the 5025 annunciator will be included with it.

hook it to your panel
th3sp0rk 3 years ago
Can't - non-compatable.
weatherdan882002 3 years ago
sucks
th3sp0rk 3 years ago
They still make these panels; you can't do anything with them without a proper controller.
douro20 3 years ago
No, the Simplex 4020 is no longer made.

Neither is the 4100 or 4120 - they've all been replaced w/ the 4100U.

Cool.
My school has a Simplex 4602.

So did my MS/HS (panel was a Simplex 4002).

Hey question.
How can I set the output voltage for the horn circuit on the Fire Lite MS-4424B? My Specter Alert sounds like crap because it's being overpowered..........

I know there's a way to fix it, but I'm not sure how it's done. Try asking someone else like cjgoot.
