In my country prepping is basically impossible to some measure and when people hear that I'm looking for ways to escape through the sea and buying gear etc they always assume I'm insane. My response has always been the same sentence that has now became my motto in some ways. I reply by saying: "A prepper is someone who is right when everything else goes wrong."
The guy with the Nuke Holocaust idea left one thing out:
Since America is allied with the UN and NATO, they would rush to our aid, and we have military overseas and on the Korean Peniusula/Near Iran/and probably near Russia, so we would close in on the enemy, take them down, and rebuild.
@KevinLuhrs Perhaps but it'd only take one bomb to kill millions and poison the water for miles and miles and it would stay that way for a very long time. I grew up on the tail of the cold war so don't lecture me on what might happen cause I've lived with it everyday for nearly 40 years.
@KevinLuhrs.. My mom(born in 46 I think) and dad ( not when was but I his six years older)can tell you about the drills they did in school. Both had basements( that were reinforced) so there was no need for a fall out shelter. And I grew up under threat of a Russian attack so i get the real fear these people may have. If it helps them cope who are you to you call them crazy maybe their right.
@KevinLuhrs Look most peppers aren't doomsday peppers they prep for everything like say natural disasters which happen around my area often so yeah i guess i caught the bug at least a little. I have a garden and small greenhouse for winter moths and chickens for eggs and meat plus a load canned food we put away ever year. And yes i dug a basement because the constant tornadoes in my area scared me so preparing made sense. I teach my kid skill like soap making and cooking foe sratch.
@KevinLuhrs I also taught them garden/farm and how make most the stuff you and the other none preps take for granted. So do they an edge over over say your kids or grand kids..probably . But I taught to my kid cause my grand parents taught me they never wanted me or my kids to ever be without these skills so call us nuts if you want but we are people that founded and built this country so you sit your office or what ever and have enjoy the life you life you have.

F.Y.I. I'm enlisting in the US Army when i'm 18, so my quote "Office" is either gonna be Iran, Iraq, Afghanistan, Syria, or North Korea.
And it's not Russian, it's USSR or Soviet Union.
I live in Florida (North Florida to be exact) and there is literally no need for any of this worry. So i guess i wouldn't know.
